Hi Laura. This was a humorous video. I have to be honest. Even after the rain storm it still looked beautiful. In my zone 7b, I always just cut the blooms because of the heavy wind & rain now. I want to avoid snapping the branches causing more damage on my limelight’s. It’s a win win bcz I use the dried flower heads as mulch for my other winter containers. Works out perfect.
I'd say you fought that storm to a draw!😅 Here in the PNW, I am close to Canada, and close to the coast. The ocean tends to moderate our temps, but right now frigid air is pouring in from the north. 15 degrees right now, headed down to 10. Brrrr! After the warmest December on record. Have my heated hummingbird feeders out, fingers crossed that the plants survive! Thanks for the lovely winter tour!
Oh wow Susan - I hope you stay warm…and the hummingbirds…and the plants survive! 🥶 We are finally getting a cold front, and the puddles in my garden beds have turned into miniature ice ponds today! ⛸️ And we still have high winds. 😮
Well, that’s about the only reason to stop buying them. 🤣 And yet I have my eye on a new improved color variety of Pinky Winky, just so I could geek out and compare it with my own. 🙄🤪
We Finally got snow today! (Olympic Peninsula, Wa) I am very happy...Evergreens and Spruce trees just look so pretty all dressed up.
Oh I bet the trees look so pretty Jean! Love your description of them being all dressed up. 🌲❄️🤍
Laura, you have now inspired me to go out and prune my flower heads. I’m in zones 6A/6B Putnam County NY.
Hi Carly, It’s probably a good idea! 👍 We still have high winds today, and my Limelight Tree is practically bare now. 💨💨💨😮

I’m done buying hydrangeas. There’s no more room. 😅
