This is an excellent video. I was thinking about starting animation courses on udemy, but I'm not sure now. I logged into my account this morning to check on someone else's analytics. It is a girl from my university school. She doesn't do it anymore, but she has one course and she only enrolled over 100 students in over a year or two. I don't like that udemy gets to keep so much of the revenue earnings. I'm actually searching multiple different online course websites before I start one. It's 11:11 A.M. and I have not slept. My sleep is bad. haha. I'm researching business ideas. I plan to get my new animation channel started here soon, and then use that to promote tutorials on an online course website. I watched many other udemy sell videos tonight. This is the last one for now.
Love the honesty and also sharing how the online course was exposure for your coaching services too which you may not have otherwise gained without the course exposure. It's all about multiple platforms and multiple channels for getting exposure and sales.
You could actually order one through your affiliate link and see whether it comes through as organic or not! If so, I would be asking Udemy to compensate me the full 75% for ALL of my sold courses!
I’m starting to think Udemy just doesn’t have cookies so if people look at my course but then click out and come back later, it just becomes a regular link. That’s just my guess
I watched both of your videos about this topic and I would like to tell you something. I personally bought a lot of courses on Udemy. There are few things that I noticed and I would like to share it with you. First of all, I think that number of hours of the course is really important. There are more people that will buy a course that is 60 hours long with the price of 19.99, because they just see quality there. They want to learn more about that topic. So, it would be great if you maybe add more videos in your course, so that you maybe speak at least 10 hours about that topic, that would be really great. One example of a really great course would be any course from Jonas Schmedtmann. I don't know how much money does he earns from RUclips, but he is really amazing.
Thank you for your feedback. I totally agree on the correlation between course length and perceived value. I’m definitely planning on making a much longer course next time.
@@ChristinasSideHustles That would be really great. I am planning my own course as well, but I am just lazy to start it. I would probably go with "Mathematics for Machine learning", because I am Data Scientist and mathematician at the same time. Your advices are really helpful, especially with your own links to Udemy course and more platforms to publish your own course. Thank you very much for that.
I've been trying to avoid the whole create an audience on social media hustle, but I'm starting to realize that there's no way around it. I'm gonna have to start dancing on tik tok and instagram reels 🙄
I don’t understand why the total would be so low if you had let’s say 300 enrollments (since the perhaps 100 were free) even at minimum 25% of a $12 course. Wouldn’t that be close to 1200.00? Could you briefly explain (if the lowest you’d make from an enrollment is $3) Thanks so much for the video!
Sounds like it needs to be done the opposite way round.. instead of growing a social media network to send to udemy just host it yourself and keep all of it, it sounds like that's what all your customers were and could've kept all the money (been looking at Uscreen for this and they desperately need someone to talk about how to actually use the site if you find it interesting enough)
Hosting yourself is way easier when you already have an audience/email list. But when you are just starting out (which was my situation) Udemy is a good place for beginners since they do some promotions for you. My next course will definitely be hosted elsewhere
Thank you for your honest review. I am considering creating a course for career development as well and your insights are defintely very helpful. Just bought your course (with a discount, of course 🤣) using the link from this video - I hope you’ll receive the 75% cut 🤞
Awww that’s so nice of you! And yes, I hope I get the full cut lol. Best of luck with your course. I have a video on how to create your first online course if you want to check it out.
@@ChristinasSideHustles do you think it’s worth it to do that? I’m considering Udemy or Teachable. I don’t want to give Udemy price control even in exchange for the distribution and marketing

I totally agree. My course sometimes only gets sold for like. $3 which is very frustrating.

I made it free for the first week so a few hundred of those enrollments didn’t have to pay
@@ChristinasSideHustles even if it were free
Maybe let’s say 200* $3 = $600
(Perhaps maybe 100 enrollments were paid?)
Thanks
@@tialynn1111 it’s hard to say, some people paid $29 and some paid like $1.23
@@ChristinasSideHustles oh ok some are only 1.23? I thought minimum % creator takes home is 25% ok

Yeah...the Udemy revenue this yearh hasn't been to great so far.
Do you have another course that's like $500 or similar?
No, I don't. I've been thinking about creating another course but definitely need more time
@@ChristinasSideHustles oh
Low ticket offerings make it hard to scale to that next level from what I've seen

why the benefits are so low ,is any other platforms not charge that much
Every platform does it differently :)
I’m an Egyptian Arabic teacher, I want to post my course there do you think that it worth trying ?
I think as long as it’s fir an ego ish speaking audience it doesn’t hurt to try
What do you use to edit your videos?
I use iMovie mostly :)
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
Thanks a lot

Why are the profits so low even though the course price is $100, from 3 to 5 dollars you get from each sale?
That’s not the course price. Watch the video again :)
25%!!!!!!! Pfffff that’s horrible
Yeah it's not great but that's what you receive for using someone else's platform
I love u
