Idk I feel like around 2012 the trap drops were pretty boring, with same notes over and over again with no variation almost. I like how nowadays everything is so to the point, not making the track longer if the artist has no other ideas for the track.
idk man, its not that trap is bad, I just think it overstayed its welcome nowadays. At some point down the line trap became the default "epic compilation/moment/ tv show" anthem and from then on it went downhill. its hard to make innovative music with trap and not make the millionth "trap banger" thats just an 808 turned to max and some melody ripped from a popular song.
