I noticed the total pixel count if l perform a supervised classification is higher after doing the Pan-sharpening than without the Pan-sharpening,is that normal?

downscalling does not do any improvements but only shrinks pixel size.

Why would you merge all bands. they are in different resolution. You should not merge band 8, 10, 11 as therir resolution are 15m, 100m, 100m.
