From a Dodger fan I saw it coming.. hats off to the Phillies. Played good on both sides of the field. They used their Ace's in this series and it shows how important good pitching is.
Folks, especially some Philly fans, want to down the kid because he doesn't exactly kill it at the plate, but to me, saved runs is the same as a run batted in and he's been saving runs since he came up last year.
As a dodgers fan I agree right now if we want to compete with you guys we need to make moves at the trade deadline and get our other guys back from injuries.
Phillies fan here. The sweep of a beat-up Dodger team in early July doesn't really mean much. If the Dodgers get healthy, we will hopefully see them in more meaningful games down the line and let the chips fall where they may. However, after hearing all season that we hadn't played anyone and weren't as good as our record, it was great to see the Phillies let everyone know that they are for real. Their pitching shut down the heart of the Dodger's lineup, they hit like they've been hitting all year, they ran the bases and stole bases efficiently, all while playing tremendous defense across the board. None of it was a fluke.
It does mean alot.. 3 game swing to the team that is right behind the phils.. going for the NL pennant... 3 games could mean ALOT! Have you seen any teams missing the playoffs by 1 or 2 games.. happens every year m8. If the Phillies got swept the dodgers would have the same amount of wins and some lovely confidence.
My Dodgers looked pretty weak No.1 And No. 2 this definitely felt like playoff baseball atmosphere and the Phillies are ready for it. My boys need to step it up and get healthy.
Regardless of Injuries, the Dodgers just arent playing good Baseball. The Phillies are and do so consistently, and thats why they're currently the best Team in baseball. GGs to them. In those 13 games, they've scored 60 runs, or 4.6 per game. However, that includes an one game explosion of 14 runs vs. SFG. Take that away, and 46 runs in 12 games, or 3.8 rpg. In the same 13 games, they've given up 84 runs. 84! Let that sink in for a minute. That's 6.5 rpg. In 5 of those games, they've given up 9 or more runs, of course all losses. That Roberts has no ability to make adjustments of any meaningful kind is exactly why they've lost 6 in a row in the playoffs, and are 3 - 10 in their last 3 playoff series dating back to 2021 NLCS, to teams we finished 18, 22, and 16 games ahead of in the standings. Dude is clueless. the first of those 13 pathetic games was a 4 - 0 win vs. CWS. In the other 12 games, they are 4 - 8 with a starter era of over 9. Not going to win very many games like that.

Baseball wise yes, but it may work better next spring. JT will the number 1 as long as he wants to be. Stubby at 31 is only 2 years younger than JT where Marchan is only 25 and looks like a number 1 catcher to hang onto as JT’s replacement.
When firing on all cylinders, Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman is hard to beat. But I do think the Phillies have an extremely solid lineup.
