  • Hello my friends.
We were provided a LASERPECKER 3 laser engraver by LASERPECKER to do a video along with test. Because I feel this is a useful tool to include in our business, we gladly accepted the offer.
We have two different production jobs that require sequential serial number on non-ferrous castings. In this video, we put the LASERPECKER 3 through the test with very nice results along with testing on gray cast iron scale.
If you are in the market for a verstile laser ingraver, check out the link below.
with any purchase over $800, you can save $50 by using (Clarke50) in the coupon code

Fromer US Navy Laser Systems Safety Systems Cat II qualified here. The laser is ablating and sintering the surface, relying the ablated material and adhering that material to the surface. It leaves a tactile surface, but its typically just a few thousands of an inch. Now, a Word About Safety with Lasers; Read the manual and the SAFETY WARNINGS like your scared shitless of going blind. In the early days of laser designators being deployed in the military, there were numerous 'sight injuries' (total blindness) reported. Understand a laser beam that has enough power to etch iron, has far more power than is needed to blow away that 0.3mm Fovea that you depend on to see everything. If you are nearsighted and wear corrective lenses of any kind, even one of those lasers used in price scanners at the grocery store or a presenter uses can do it. If the power of the laser is high enough and green, blue, or violet, those do not need 1,000th of the power of a red light laser to blind you. (those green targeting lasers on the M-2A's were only fielded for a short time as they were declared a blinding hazard and a maiming weapon by the Hauge)... So, READ THE MANUAL. And keep little kids and your friend Kenny from hanging out looking over your shoulder, those are the ones who are too dumb to not stare directly into the damn thing.

Clough42, when he was showing off the XTool, mentioned a marking spray called CerMark if you ever have something to mark where you're not happy with the direct marks on the surface.

thanks for doing this video. I would spread out the "MADE IN MISSISSIPPI" just a bit as letters are a bit to close (adjust kerning). it may be OK on paper but the laser is "spreading" the edges just a little bit (I'm guessing)

Looks Amazing! I've read that ventilation is pretty important with laser engravers, your shop should be fine with the open spaces there. Many use an air purifier.

Stan this is very easy to use. Everything is pretty much self explanatory. As one does a few test runs, it seems to give predictable good quality results.

I would try grinding or filing the surface first for better definition. You also can mask the area with paint and then follow the laser with a mild acid etch.

Clarke, Lazer pecker even had their advertisement on your video.
Speaking of setting paper on fire, a coworker bought a burger from a chain restaurant, and brought them in to work. He commenced to put the burger in the microwave in the wrapper that had aluminum in the wrapper. After a few seconds, he had the wrapper on fire..
