Suspected Hate-Motivated Arson Investigation,

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of a person wanted in a suspected hate-motivated Arson investigation.
On Friday, April 26, 2024, at approximately 11:31 a.m., officers responded to a radio call for an Arson in the Bayview Avenue and Ruddington Drive area.
It is reported that:
- a person approached a sign that was affixed to the ground
- the person lit the sign on fire and fled the area
On Sunday, April 28, 2024, at approximately 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a radio call for an Arson in the area of Bayview Avenue and Burleigh Heights Drive area.
It is reported that:
- a person arrived in a silver or grey color vehicle
- the person lit the sign on fire and fled southbound in the vehicle
The arsons are being investigated as suspected hate-motivated arsons based on the messaging on the signs. One of the signs was placed on the property of a Synagogue.
It is believed that the two incidents are related.
