@@Cruzsader Is not true. In fact, they were much more famous during the dictatorship. After the dictatorship, they separated - There was never censorship of thought, what was really forbidden, were the Marxist and terrorist ideologies.
@@trolliumTV bro, I am Chilean, we all now that they have problems to express their music, and they are one of the most important bands of this country and the 80's, to this day, their songs still are a simbol of protest.

Insisto, la libertad de expresion si existia en Chile, incluso Florcita motuda era mas famoso en dictadura, asi por nombrar a cientos de actores reconocidos de izquierda, todos ellos bien pagados, con buen trabajo. El asunto politico era en contra del comunismo y por eso solo 3000 comunistas murieron en esa epoca. Un trabajo absolutamente certero, que practicamente no tuvo casi ninguna vida inocente.

Jorge González, singer and composer had a stroke recently, but he is still alive and working. He is a "cultural reference" and in the present he talks a lot about the protests and riots in the country. From Chile, please listen to Los Jaivas, Congreso and Los Tres. And from Brazil: Os Mutantes, Marisa Monte and Gilberto Gil. Thanks!

Estrechez de corazón -Los Prisioneros, the album was produced by Gustavo Santaolalla recorded in Los Angeles, CA.
The band was composed by three members, at that “tren al sur” time there was only 2 of them, the third one left because an infidelity of one of the members with his wife. Then Jorge Gonzalez the vocalist created this album made with almost all love stuff songs.
Los Prisioneros are still one of the most popular bands in South america.

My friend, Los Prisioneros (The Prisoners) are a Chilean Band and Tren Al Sur (Train To The South) is a hit from the early 90's. The song it's a simple song, but don't forget this, it's a train from the beginning to the end. The drums do the rhythm of a train, the keyboards also and it really shows when the song ends and it feels like the train is reaching its destination ... The rhythm is quite similar to the train.
In another sense, traveling by train was the typical transport of poor people, it becomes political when it reaches the choir...because they scream with rage, the segregation towards the traveler.

One of the most important latinamerican rock bands among Soda Stereo, Sumo, Charly. Spimetta, etc. But this band is chilean. They have, of course a lot of hits. This lasts convulsive days in Chile one of their song have become an anthem for the cause of social justice and dignity. The name is "El baile de los que sobran" (Dance of leftovers). But there are many others, like "Sexo", "Estrechez de corazón", "La voz de los 80´s", "Muevan las industrias". Jorge González (vocalist/composer) is a genious, like Gustavo Cerati, but each one in their own world, of course. You´ll be amazed if you keep on checking them ;-) Cheers from Chile
