I'm so glad I came across your channel. I had trouble with my passenger and back windows, but your tutorial made it possible to fix a problem I had for a year. My husband couldn't believe I did it myself. You were right! It would've cost me $120 in my local car shop. Thanks again!.
The hurricane left NC and then we got hit with some beautiful fall weather! This was exactly what I needed to get my windows up and down in my 2013 Acadia and enjoy this weather ! The contacts were black and covered in gunk! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video.!! I'm a over 50 female and this video helped me fix my own issue with my 2010 acadia. Drove me nuts I couldn't get passenger window down from driver side after just a few months of owning this used acadia. Took me approximately 30 mins from start to finish and only needed my husband's help with the door handle cable. My contacts had a little build up but the passenger window switch definitely had the most. Viola!!! All fixed.. I've become quite the you tube mechanic. I've fixed many things on vehicles by watching these videos over the years.
Tina that's great to hear. That's the whole point of my channel. Let people know that they can fix their own vehicle and not have to take it to the garage and have to pay a lot of money for some relatively easy fixes. Thanks for your comment!
I just paid over $300 to get one of the motors replaced and installed. Still had the other 2 passenger windows to go. Then I tried your tutorial and now THEY ALL WORK AGAIN!!! You saved Christmas with all these savings 😅 thank you and be blessed!!!!
Well IDK about saving Christmas but I'm glad I could help. Check out the rest of my GMC Acadia videos if you have any other issues. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
My local dealer told me 2 years ago that my drivers master switch was broke and would cost me $400+ to install and replace. My issue was my passenger side window did not go up or down for the passenger, nor did it work for the driver switch, they said that was the master switch relay issue... so for 2 YEARS I have been driving the car and my teenager (17) daughter and we just lived with it... TODAY I FOLLOWED your suggestion and took the driver side apart, cleaned it, and blew it out with air compressor and BAM!!! I can now open the passenger side window, but then the button on the passenger side would still not open/close the window, so I did the same thing to the passenger switch (much easier as I did not have to take the door apart), cleaned it and now everything is working. OUTSTANDING, love people sharing how they fix stuff, saved me $$, THANKS.
Yes sir.... that's the whole point of my channel. Spread knowledge and help people figure out that they can work on their vehicles AND save money. Glad your window is now working properly!!
Thank you! This did the trick for my rear passenger window. I added an extra step. After VERY lightly scraping the metal contacts on both the rubber pad and the circuit board with the tip of knife, I added the this step - cleaning the contacts with some rubbing alcohol. Saved $76 Cdn, the price that my Buick dealer charges for the part. This video was a great find, for me! Thanks! One tip that I found helpful in the comments is that there is a small opening on the bottom of the door, where you can insert a flathead screwdriver, or your fingers, to start prying off the door panel.
Thankful I was able to avoid a second switch replacement! Now I have two CLEAN ONES ! Definitely going to browse and see if you possibly have some for GMC A/C issues. Thanks for the quick fix 😅
Thank you for the video just for future reference to get started on those pannels you should start at the bottom in middle of the pannel it has cut outwhere to insert pry bar you start at that cutout and work your way around and dont forget that those pannels are veeeeeery fragile trust me i had to take mine appart more times than i needed to andeventualy plastic behind those tabs starts to break i have never seen plastic that thick to be that fragile
If I can do it so can you. I would suggest the tool for popping the door panel free. Then just pull lightly....seriously 30 mins start to finish here...
Thanks. I've the exact same problem. Will work on it this weekend. Another Question; did your Acadia also has a RECALL due to dangerous Airbag? If so, what is the status? is it replaced?
@@DoItYourselfDoItRight Good. Mine has this recall, but they don't have the part to replace. Its been more than a year. Don't know what to do (in Canada).
Do you have a video and you changing the headlight bulbs out because apparently from what I’ve been told you gotta take the tire off go through the inner wheel fender, but they can’t be like that
Yes! I had the same issue, and sadly was told the same thing. My quick fix on that one….. Rear end the guy in front of you! Sure did the trick for me …. 😂
You can't get the switch assembly apart without taking the door panel apart. An acadia door panel is different than a GMC truck panel. The switch assembly is the same but they go together differently.

I'm glad my video could be of assistance and I'm elated that you did it without the help of your husband!

That was a good tip! I did not know about that small opening at the bottom of the door panel until it was pointed out.

I thank you my earthly automotive brother!!!
saved my so much today thank you for this!
Big thanks!! I had to buy a bit and extension, but cleaned them up and boom, works perfectly. Good for another 80k miles.
Nice! Glad to hear it!
WOW many thanks. Glad to watch it before purchasing. Fixed both my driver and passenger side issue.
Good! Glad I could help!
oh boy, i wonder if i have the patience to try this. I REALLY want this problem fixed on my own 2013 Acadia! Thanks for the tutorial!
You can do it! The hardest part is popping the door panels off. Once you get the first one popped its all down hill from there.
If I can do it so can you. I would suggest the tool for popping the door panel free. Then just pull lightly....seriously 30 mins start to finish here...
@@tinahecht5518 Which tool is that, other than a screwdriver?
Thank you and that's gonna help a lot when I do the same job
You're welcome.... hope it fixes your problem!
Nice thanks for sharing video I’ll try it out 👍
So many thanks
I'm going to do same for my Acadia 😊
Thank you so much for this video. IT WORKED!!!
Glad I could help you out! Thanks for the comment!
THANKS MY WIFE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM APPREICATE YOU
Glad I could help!
Thanks!
No man! Thank you!

I don't think mine was effected by the recall.

Thanks for the nice words!

You don't have to take the tire off..... just turn it in or out. Attached is my video. ruclips.net/video/ol1wJCutyao/видео.html

Great video you rock dude!!
No YOU rock K Taylor!
Don't have to do all the, just pry up the assembly with plastic tools, remove switch assembly and replace.
You can't get the switch assembly apart without taking the door panel apart. An acadia door panel is different than a GMC truck panel. The switch assembly is the same but they go together differently.
I ain’t gonna lie. It didn’t work for me 😔
That's a bummer. The whole switch mechanism is only like 40 bucks so even if it doesn't work it's not too hard on the bank account.
I'd like to meet the sob that designed it this way, no reason the whole door panel needs to come off for this. Smh
It's so people take their cars to a shop and have to spend their hard earned money!
