Cracking video mate loved it. I've also heard the past few years that the suns have quite subpar facilities compared to the other clubs. Nevertheless Touk Touk to go off this year and them to finally make finals is my big call.
definitely a big year for the club as a whole. don't know if i see them in that top 8, just so many good teams right now, but they're for sure on that level.
No offence, but that was pretty superficial. The start up concessions were very similar, far more so than you indicated. Yes GWS got ever so slightly more, but the collective wisdom at the time was that GC would be the easier success, more of a history of football, more of a desirable destination for players - GWS was always thought to be the tougher challenge and more likely basket case. In the end, because of their success, the concessions were withdrawn three years early, resulting in a fire-sale of players in 2016/17 but there was also lots done off field at the Giants that wasn’t done at the Suns that didn’t get a mention, but deserved to - A stable training base, years before the Suns got theirs - the use of Breakfast Point for new recruits can’t be underestimated - and way, way better trading of unwanted players. You just have to look at the number of suns delisted players vs the number of Giants delisted and the number of traded players in those first few years. The Suns just got rid of players, The Giants got something for them (even if it was just a bottle of coke & a packet of chips). Also the choice of recruiting player assistant coaches at the end of their career (Power, Cornes, Brogan & McDonald) to steady & teach the young players was a strategy that help set the club. The Suns went for journeymen like Brown, Brennan & Harbrow Also, you said the Giants were given picks 1,2&3 in 2013 - not true - 1 because they finished last - 2&3 because they traded for them. Gold Coast got Jack Martin (97 games) & Melbourne got (rising star winner) Jesse Hogan - GWS got O’Rourke & Plowman. I know who won those trades & it wasn’t GWS. Anyway, rant over - good luck with your channel and future vids. Cheers
Draft concessions have absolutely helped the giants. Credit to them for actually developing the players. But they got so much more than the suns and because they develop them well, when they leave, the giants get first round picks back in so they keep bringing in talent
The average GWS crowd in 2024 a year when they finished in the top 4 was only 10,000. The Giants are clearly the biggest mistake the AFL has ever made. Tasmania will have bigger crowds than the GWS on day 1.
4 months later gws are far ahead of the suns again
the cycle continues
Great video mate! looking forward to the next
thanks mate, appreciate it!

Great Video man!
Lachie Plowman pick 3 is crazy
yeah he's not in the best 22 nowadays hey
The only players on Carlton’s list to be picked above Plowman are Sam Walsh and Jacob Weitering with Paddy Dow also being selected with the same pick
Love all your AFL content bro
Go giants
I live on the gold coast the city is awash with drugs I can't tell you how many times I've seen suns players out in clubs at 3a.m.
When the suns played my crows in Darwin this year was pretty surprised how well the suns played that game against us
It's just the fact that GWS feel like a genuinely established club and Gold Coast still feel very manufactured
*_I like the fact that only 3 years ago, people were talking about how GWS was on the rise and Gold Coast were gonna get worse._*
Great video again brother 👑, I think I like these shorter videos more too.
