I'ts got to be one of the best songs to play with the Lap steel guitar. Tammy Wynot was an amazing singer I am sure she would have sung right along with you as you played it so wonderfully. Thank you for the memories. ....
Patrick White.... just so you know, Tammy's name was spelled "Wynette".... not "Wynot". Tammy's last name was Pugh.... Wynette was actually her Middle name. Tammy was married to George Jones from 1969 to 1975.... surprised it lasted even that long, with him... although they did cut a few more albums together after their divorce, in the later 70s and 80s.
Very nice arrangement. Thank you for putting out this video. I have built one lap steel guitar and I am thinking of building a second one designed around the Dusenberg multibender. This video some others are an encouragement to continue.
Just purchased my first G5700 yesterday from Butler Music in Harrisonville, MO for $315.00. Though it's being shipped to Texas, I can't wait to get started learning the Lap Steel! I was looking at the Multi-bender and I see it sells from Musikhaus Thomann in Germany for $225.00 USD. Trust me, I rather purchase the Duesenburg Fairytale Multi-bender, but I don't $2,499.00 laying around right now. lol I'll probably purchase the Multi-bender next month.
I've had one for a few months with the intention of installing it on a Tele copy. Been putting it off because it looks more complicated than I had hoped. Glad to hear you found it easy.
Another piece of pure talent. I'm really glad to find your video's. If you ever become instrested in giving lessons, I'll sign up. Thank you Sir for a wonderful piece again.
There's also a version for square neck resonator. It is accurate, but hard to get double stop bends as the height of the levers differs to accommodate whole and half step bends. I put a whle load of gaffer tape round one of mine to make them the same height. Not pretty. Works.
It takes less time to fit the Multibender than it does to change the strings. It's a five minute job and anyone could do it. I know because I've done it.
VERY nice! > Excellent! > Where do I find that MOD and add it to my Gretsch G5700 Electromatic Lap Steel > WOW i can't wait to play one! My country songs will take on a whole different meaning!! Thanks for picking Tammy's song too! --HHNET
Don't know, where you live, but in Germany (where the Multibender is made) you can order it here: www.thomann.de/de/duesenberg_multibender.htm?ref=search_rslt_multibender_108735_0
Great! - I have the same set-up. Same lap steel fitted with same multibender :-) I was wondering which string gauge you use?? It looks easier to push the bender down on yours than mine. thx.
Nice job... so my question.... did you have any difficulty installing the multibender? was it as easy as just taking off the old bridge and drilling a few holes ?
Yes, I did mine recently and you just have to make sure to measure out the distance of the old bridge from saddle to nut and make sure the new bridge is the same distance away. I checked the distance at about 10 mm from pickup hole edge to the bridge saddle. I also added masking tape around the edge of the old bridge as a guide.
Did the string spacing change when you put the Multibender on.? The original Duesenberg lap has a little wider spacing than the Gretsch. That would be good for me if it did. Please let me know. Thanks.
Actually I changed the nut as well, to receive a wider string spacing. The original was way too narrow. Also, the multibender has a slightly wider string spacing than the original bridge
Fantastic. Can I ask how much that setup cost? Can a novice install the Doozy by themselves? I was just going to get the Gretsch but that bridge would really add a country feel. Thanks!
Eric, I installed it myself without any problems. Very easy. I ordered mine here: www.thomann.de/de/duesenberg_multibender.htm?ref=search_rslt_multibender_108735_0
I have two multibenders on my pomona ! No I don't think that this is a five minute job ? I"m waiting for book III from Peter Funk "Special bending playing"
Wonderful playing! Thank you.

Very nice playing! Love the song choice.
Most of the time I listen to RUclips on my Phone but I get a different selection of songs on my laptop that is just wonderful.
That was just beautiful! I’m pretty sure you’ve got those multi-benders down.
Now this is the perfect song and this is nice

Lovely.
Very nice !!! I play also this melody on lapsteel guitar .Robert
Wow, if this was just audio I would swear that was a pedal steel.
Thank you for sharing. I would love to know the manufacturer of your bender there. Sounds really lovely!
The bender is made by (german company) Duesenberg
Well played sir.
David, it was just as easy as taking off the old bridge and drilling a few holes :-)
Where can I purchase the hardware? I wish to MOD my G57 ASAP > Thank You very much appreciated.
LINDA MUSICA.
INSCRITO, NO CANAL.
that was super nice man
Wow that was great.
Thank you :-)
Amazing performance. That contraption was made for you or vice versa. Looking for that exact model!
There's also a version for square neck resonator. It is accurate, but hard to get double stop bends as the height of the levers differs to accommodate whole and half step bends. I put a whle load of gaffer tape round one of mine to make them the same height. Not pretty. Works.
son muito lindo, nota 1000000000
Love This Thanks !!!!!!!
Thank you for liking this :-) !
Klasse, echt Klasse!
Love it, sounds great. On the multibender, which strings did you install the trem-bars? 3rd and 4th? (G and D?)
keep up the good work
Did you ever make tabs for this? I just got my Gretsch Lappy set up with benders like yours and I'm wanting to add this one to the repertoire. Thanks!
Sorry, no tabs (so far). Have fun with your Gretsch
It takes less time to fit the Multibender than it does to change the strings. It's a five minute job and anyone could do it. I know because I've done it.
Yes ? where can we see that ?

This is superb! Any chance of tab for this?
Sorry, Chris, no tabs so far ...
I have a 5700 and looking for the right multi bender . Did you swap out the pickup as well?
Awesome ...what tunning are you usinh?
How many strings does this multibender bend?
Hi, nice version. May I ask what tuning is in use here. :)
Hi Tilo, the tuning is Open D (or Open E, can't quite remember ...)
Great! - I have the same set-up. Same lap steel fitted with same multibender :-)
I was wondering which string gauge you use?? It looks easier to push the bender down on yours than mine. thx.
I use a medium set of strings (.12 - .54). Can't remember wether I changed the highest strings to .15 and .17 ....
Can I ask what lap steel it is? Looks like a Gretsch....
You're right, it's a Gretsch Syncromatic. I mounted a Duesenberg multibender to it ...
@@lapsteelpfunk What was the mounting process like? Easy?
@@krausewitz6786 Very easy.
Not a Duesenberg. Benders added to cheaper Gretsch?
Are you a local musician in the Duluth, MN. 1965 drummer interested in playing with.....
Did you find a band to play with?
Muito lindo por de mais quanto é o valor déstas quitarras?
Nice job... so my question....
did you have any difficulty installing the multibender?
was it as easy as just taking off the old bridge and drilling a few holes ?
Yes, I did mine recently and you just have to make sure to measure out the distance of the old bridge from saddle to nut and make sure the new bridge is the same distance away. I checked the distance at about 10 mm from pickup hole edge to the bridge saddle. I also added masking tape around the edge of the old bridge as a guide.
man, I'd pay for the tab for this
Do you have install instructions to share or sell. I would like to get the exact same setup. Thanks!
As far as I remember, the stringbender fits onto the Gretsch without any modification. At least, I had no problems to install it.
So, the tuning your using is open D (D-A-D-F#-A-D). Which strings are the levers bending and up by how much ?
+Ted Killian B string a whole step, G string a half.
That sounds good. It will work for me. Could you tell me where you got the nut.? By the way, the way you played that song is so relaxing.
Hi Larry, the nut was specially made for me from the workshop of the instute I'm working in ...
Okay, thanks. I have a luthier friend that could make it for me. Thanks for this video. One of the best.
Sounds great. What tunning are you using?
Thank you! I use Open D: D-A-D-F#-A-D low to hogh.
NICE!!!!!!!!
how long did it take you o get the 'right hand' technique down?
Don't remember. A few days?
Fantastic. Can I ask how much that setup cost? Can a novice install the Doozy by themselves? I was just going to get the Gretsch but that bridge would really add a country feel. Thanks!
Eric, I installed it myself without any problems. Very easy. I ordered mine here: www.thomann.de/de/duesenberg_multibender.htm?ref=search_rslt_multibender_108735_0
I got one of these for Christmas and immediately found this Killer vid!! Are you playing this in a D tuning?
Yes, it's Open D. One lever raises the second string from A to B, the other one raises the third string from F# to G ...
I have two multibenders on my pomona ! No I don't think that this is a five minute job ? I"m waiting for book III from Peter Funk "Special bending playing"
Excellent!
That's lovely playing. What tuning is it?u
Thank you!
The tuning is Open D: D-A-D-F#-A-D, low to high.
Tuning????????
Switching to 1.25x speed did the trick.
???
Did I die and go to heaven?
:-)
That was almost good.
