This is why I prefer waiting for your breakdowns versus something like the live Capcommunity stream. They are so much more thorough and you even went back to correct some mistakes.
@@brunop.8745 it's his VT2, when it's installed - and when its function is used (stronger command grabs), an announcer hypes you up (providing at least 50% of the value of the trigger)
One of my favorite things about VT2 is the insane stun output. Thanks to the new changes, you can now do >650 stun activation combos off dp punishes or jumpins and still get some oki. The next mixup may not be the strongest, but if they guess wrong they're stunned and most likely dead. You had similar two-touch kill scenarios last season, but the damage is a lot more front loaded this time around, so it's overall an improvement imo.
You're already putting in a lot of work making videos for each character, so don't think it'll go unnoticed that you cared enough to reupload this particular one to correct a mistake, I can definitely respect that
I remember looking at the system mechanics and thinking Zangief was doomed. Surely he was ruined now that v-shift lets the opponent out for free. Well after playing a few matches, it's just another thing to look for. You can overcome it by either delaying your st.HK like Baf shows, or dash twice after a knockdown. What I really hate about the system changes is that st.lp is an inconsistent anti-air. Sometimes it just gets stuffed completely, rendering it not as useful. I was ready to switch characters at the beginning of this patch, but now I'm going to stick with Gief.
He's the hype guy for Zangief. He's part of the Sound Effects so it is possible to mute him. Basically, Zangief has two ways to activate VT2 (hold down or neutral activation). Every spd strength he does he says something different. He can also combo into spd and say something different (except the air versions). The announcer has a ton of phrases he'll say. Enjoy. ruclips.net/video/xTlMdcb4IuI/видео.html
the thing is, Geif needed more than this. Overall he's nerf'd compared the many of the cast who got buff's. They nerf'd his headbutt>BD, nerf'd his oki, Buffed and nerf'd his st.HP at the same time... Nobody uses VT2 because scaling on combo's is over the moon. and they attempted to buff VT2 with this, but the scaling is still abhorrent. When other characters, got their life, stun, damage or walk speed buff'd... His "buff's" just don't cut it.
I think 100+ damage that you can stick on the back of almost any combo is pretty good, and frequently worth spending trigger for, but obviously if you can find the opportunity for the 350 damage grab then that's more rewarding. More variety is very useful depending on your scenario, I can definitely see VT2 gief sometimes go for one or sometimes the other.
@@TheChocolateChamp At least crush counter roundhouse can use regular spd instead of EX. Unless that was present in the old build I'm not sure. Even so, a cancel off lariat into ex isn't too shabby for damage. It does a little bit less but we'll live.
That should work, yes. If V-shift successfully armors something then it has punishable period, but if it doesn't then Zangiefs run grab should chase it I think.
@@Bafael I actually somewhat tested this possibility in a very specific way. In the corner I tested a s.lk into EX running grab to punish V-Shift. In the case that they do shift out of your s.lk you can immediately cancel into ex running grab and punish them. It even better if they try to v-break.
Just skimming I don't remember the part about Lariat > VT1 no hold for oki. Or talking in depth about the change in air spd advantage. And obviously the stuff after 4:15
vt1 transforms matchups. vt2 needs to do at least 2x the damage it does now to be anywhere close to good enough to give up vt1. i mean if you activate and combo into VT2 spd it does as much damage as a heavy punch, lol
How are you able to activate V2 off the 4 hit jump in combo? It doesn't matter when I press the buttons a 3 hit ground combo absolutely will not let me activate V2 during lariat
You have to microwalk before the st. LK. You should always do this because it allows the lariat to hit on the first active frame. When lariat hits on the first active frame, it has 1). more damage, 2). better okizeme, and 3). the potential to cancel to trigger.
Reuploaded with some fixes. I didn't mention some nice substantial changes for him lol
You should see what stand roundhouse crush counter to VT1 looks like once you've already activated it. Has some corner side switching applications.

LOOK IT'S THE RED CYCLONE
HE DID IT!
OH HERE IT IS!!!
Bro is the ultimate hype man
Never noticed this till today lol
zangief: walks forward
random guy: poggers
so true
what the heck is that?
Still don't know what the hell is that voice

w8.. no
I literally only use vt2 because I love hearing the little announcers in the background freaking out
With all of the crazy anime characters SF added through the years, a really buff guy wearing steel underwear still manages to be one of my favorites
His design stood the test of time
Things I learned from this video: Zangief has an announcer who narrates his VT2.
Im new to SFV, Who the hell is the guy yelling HE DID IT!! lmaooo its funny
Zangief's V-Trigger 2 has it's own hypeman :D
Zangief at a Glance: Second Impact
he's back again, and about time too-
And this time, he’s in the mood!
3:27 Yes, 435 dmg in 2 hits....*looks at my Cammys 900 hp* thats just what I need.
Good luck trying to hit that on a good cammy though lol
You play Cammy, you deserve it.
Yeah nobody waits around long enough for that move to hit lol. Especially not a cammy.
bro just v shift bro
Deja vu, I have been in this place before....
Didn't realize the air SPD change gave him new meterless combos. That's good to know.
VT2 only tho
2:27 Zangief is casually stepping on Ryu's right foot

SFV Season 5 - Took a second glance
that one person that disliked got hit by some command grab loops

I'm pretty sure I will get hurt just by that ( 2:25 )

Lariat into vt2 activation on block being +18 is definitely spicy.

And I used to be scared of gief, now I'm flat out terrified

Hold up, I don't know much about SF5

VT2 gets its own announcer, in game

That vt2 cancel into ex air grab is so useless. That costs wayyyyy to much for so little damage
