- The seventh episode of the 2017 Road to the Games series follows last year’s four fittest women as they prepare for fresh adventures and challenges at the new home of the CrossFit Games.
A CrossFit camera crew joins Sam Briggs, 2016’s fourth-place finisher and 2013’s Fittest Woman on Earth, in Manchester, England.
Briggs trains hard to earn her nickname-“The Engine”-but she also explains why it’s important for her to let loose on the weekends.
Sara Sigmundsdottir, bronze medalist two years in a row, is now training in Cookeville, Tennessee, and has spent the last year working with two former champions: four-timer Rich Froning (2011-2014) and 2015 winner Ben Smith.
“She’s like me when I competed a couple years ago,” Froning says.
Tia-Clair Toomey, the second-place finisher in 2015 and 2016 and an Olympian in Rio, says she’s gained confidence since last year’s Games.
Toomey visits Josh Bridges in San Diego, California, to get some obstacle-course training and address some weaknesses.
Katrin Davidsdottir, the Fittest Woman on Earth in 2015 and 2016, says with a smile, “I have no weaknesses. I have things that I’m better at and worse at.”
But don’t assume she’s become overly confident.
“Winning twice in a row does nothing for me this year,” she says. “Everyone’s on a clean slate.”

For someone as incredibly fit and talented as Briggs she gets very little 'air time' , I hope she kills it at the games again!

Idk i think it has a lot to do with her being from Northern England and not being as much of a poster girl type like the Iceland girls. The way shes recovered from injuries to qualify for the games this year though is nothing short of amazing.

These women are so inspiring. I'm so happy Tia is more confident in herself it broke my heart how she was talking about herself last year. Sara, Katrin, Tia, and Sam are all class acts and inspire me to be a better athlete and person. Good luck to all 4 of those gladiators

This is perhaps my favorite CrossFit video of all time. The girls have made a quantum leap physically, mentally, and spiritually in just the last few years.

I stopped working out😣.... Never new these women existed, after watching 1 Cross fit game on RUclips I was hooked!!! I'm eating healthier I started working out. I stopped partying and fooling around with friends that did the same thing every weekend.... These woman are more then inspiring. They are LIFE changers!

It's so funny how katrin and Sara train completely differently. Katrin is controlled and measured in every way and Sara is loose and free. It's by far the most compelling storyline going into the games imo. It's like Bergeron vs froning training styles.
Tommy Geairn that is a pretty cool assessment of the two. I am reading Bergeron's book and its ridiculous at how meticulous (in a good way) he is in his approach with his programming and how he trains his athletes. I would love to read Froning's book to see the differences in approaches.
