  • Complete coverage of Event 5 ("Mary") of the Women's Individual Competition at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin. The video begins with Episode 12 of Rogue Iron Game, as Chase Ingraham and Annie Sakamoto break down the Men's Mary, Noah Ohlsen's huge win, and how a point deduction from the earlier Ruck event impacts Mat Fraser. The team then previews the Women's Mary, with both heats then broadcast with full commentary. Like Fraser, defending champ Tia Toomey is getting a challenge worthy of her greatness, as Karissa Pearce, Kristin Holte, and Jamie Greene make it clear they're not going away. Meanwhile, fan favorite Sara Sigmundsdottir tries to hold on to make the cut for Saturday.

I just don't care. And when I say I don't care, I don't mean that I wish steroids were part of the sports and industry, I mean that I'm not in the room with them shooting up, I'm not in the room with them when they piss, and I'm not in the room when they get tested so I simply don't judge or care enough to judge. Whoever I compete against will get the best version of me and that's all that matters.

Companies will sponsor anything, apparently. Crossfit's theory is good, be well rounded with fitness, but the "making the cut" thing in the games this year seems to undermine that theory. Having 40 (or whatever number) competing through all the events is well rounded, not cutting people after just a few workouts. Where is the excitement of someone ranking toward last on one event, but still standing on the podium at the end because they were THAT great at all the other events?? No wonder ESPN dropped this as a "sport". Sponsorship isn't enough to call something a sport.
