What a great review! Not a lot of youtubers put in so much time before actually reviewing a tire. I just got my first set on my Triumph Daytona 955i, and everything you said was spot on. I love the side-to-side confidence: nothing wobbly going on, and lots of grip too. Really transformed the bike!
He said he has ridden a total of 10k miles on Rosso 3's. Meaning his combined time on 2 sets of tires. He eventually said he gets about 5500 miles on one set.
Got a pair today and man. I love them. I love Michelin road 5s but having just a small test on the 3s feel amazing but as better on my 2015Honda cbr 650f
Is it just me or does it seem like the front tire is going the wrong direction? I just put a set on my Kawasaki Z900. It seems like the front tire will direct the water to the center of the tire.
Great review, strait to the point with very useful Information. By the way, I love that jacket, Hope you will share where you bought it from. Cheers Tony
Just came across this review. Well done my friend. I've been looking for tires for my '18 CBR650F. Trying to decide between these, the Metzler M9RR and Michelin Pilot Power 2CT. I'm not a super aggressive rider but I do like to push the limits every once and a while. What do you think about the other brands I mentioned?
Appreciated. The Pilot is a very good tire. I'm not as familiar w/the M9RR. I have a new set of Rosso 4s w/about 1k on them. Excellent and they're holding their profile a bit better than the Rosso 3s. You really can't go wrong w/the Michelin or the Pirelli.
@@EEEBA1 I didn’t have them fitted in the end, mobile fitter was messing me around so after 6 weeks without my bike I got fed up and went to local shop, had him fit some bridgestones he had on the shelf, happy with them but gutted I didn’t get the pirelli’s…
It's medium at the center and softer to either side. If you're heavy w/the throttle they won't last as long. I liked the 3 sets I've had - road holding, feel, noise, etc. - as a sport tire. Putting on a set of Rosso 4s now, so I'll be interested to see how they compare. I definitely recommend them. Happy Holidays.
I think I’ll get them? The Road 5’s are so expensive! Just wanted to ask you if I should get a Rosso 3 or Michelin Road 5? Should I run a staggered setup? I think the Rosso 3’s will be more than good for a 250 Duke? Rosso 2? Michelin Road 5? Or Rosso 3? Thanks sir. Love your review. 😇 would want my tyre to last for 6-10000 miles. I ride really softly and touch 70 miles per hour only on expressway’s! Thank you.
Shiv - I was very happy w/3 sets of Rosso 3s and they'd be a fine choice for your Duke 250. Tire life varies a lot. Given what you've described - gentle throttle w/a 250 - you might get 6k. I think 4k on the rear and potentially 6k on the front is doable - but not 100%. Safe riding.
It does look like this - and looking at my new Rosso IVs, they are the same. I'd check the Pirelli website and perhaps they can give a more clear answer.
Thank you for sharing. I just got these tires on my MV after a lowside crash due to sand/oil in a corner while using Metzelers. Only 200 bucks of damage but it shot my confidence in corners as this was my first and only crash after 14 years of fast superbike riding. Watching reviews like yours help me build trust and confidence in my new tires and cornering. Have always ran diablo supercorsa tires on my previous bike, but I must say, rosso 3 tires feel pretty good, nice and soft though definitely slower to turn compared to the supercorsa
I'm sorry to hear about your get off, but I'm glad the damage was minimal and it sounds like you didn't get hurt. The SCs have their advantages, but for regular street stuff I think you'll like the 3s. Thanks for commenting and happy riding. Cheers.
Angel - thank you for commenting. The jacket and pants are from Vanson Leathers in Fall River, Mass. The make great custom or off-the-peg leathers for road, track, and casual. My suit is a Manx jacket and Sport pants that zip all the way around together. The boots are intro racing boots from Dainese (earlier version of the Torque 3). They offer extra protection w/o being too much trouble on the street.
@@atastefortheroad4475 Scott, really greatly appreciate your answer to my questions. Thank you so much, I looked up all the info you provided and it was very useful to locate the products you mentioned. Great style of reviews and selection of gear, my friend! Hello! Thanks for your videos. I've got a 2019 Monster 1200.... it's my pride, joy, and the thing that makes me the most happy in life. It's at 39,500 miles now 😱 and while your long term review from 2019 said you'd had absolutely no problems, I'm sorry to say that I don't think that's the norm and it definitely hasn't been my experience. I'm guessing your long term review from 2019(?) was done at a time when your bike didn't have a TON of miles on it. I'm curious to know what, if any issues you've had with your Monster in the last 4 years and I have a couple of other questions. 1. Why did your Monster 1200 videos stop in 2021? Where's the bike?!? 😃 2. The Duc Pond in Winchester is no longer an authorized Ducati service shop. Do you know why this happened and where do you take your bike now? Like many of us in the DC/MD/VA area, I struggle to find competent service shops. I can't even start on my sagas with Coleman's. Thank you!
Hi Rachel - thanks for reaching out. I continue to love my 1200s and I'm at almost 18k. The only problem I've had so far is my fuel level sensor failing twice. This affects a number of Ducatis, particularly the Multi. Sorry to hear about the issues you've had w/your Monster. Well done on the mileage! My videos stopped because my mom got sick in late 2020 (not COVID) and my brother and I worked for 2 yrs to stabilize her health w/o success, as she passed in 2022. Her post life affairs took time as well into 2023. I do plan to make more video reviews on bikes, cars, & SUVs, probably starting in 2024. I'm in the middle of a career change and this is taking extra time. Ducati Winchester and Ducpond - I'm currently trying to get ahold of Donnie on FB to see if he can perform my 18k service. Someone from the Mid-Atlantic Ducati group mentioned he's still doing work at the facility. If I can book and complete an appointment I will circle back around. If I don't get a response from Donnie w/in a week, I'm going to reach out to Bob's in Jessup, MD. They've been a fantastic BMW dealership for decades and they added Ducati earlier in the year. They already have several techs trained to Level 2 and will have more by year's end. If I go this route, I can also circle back around. I have never cared for Coleman's and would never use them for service, despite how close they are for me. I hope this answers your questions and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Cheers, Scott
I have them in my brand new Ducati Diavel 1260S , in my rear tire last 5000miles. No chance it last 10.000miles. What could it be ? Power , weight of the bike or my weight (230pounds)... Regarding that is a great tire!
Gustavo - 5k sounds about right for normal riding. At 10k, I just put on my 3rd set. Pirelli has done a great job w/the Diavel's rear tire. Enjoy the new riding season!
I was just saying that to my wife that how in the hell did he get 10 thousand out of them. I'm pushing 8 thousand on my Diavel and I've got cords showing on the front and the rear is about there too!
I have 8,000 on mine which are on my 2023 Ducati Diavel V4. I rode the first 5,000 in urban mode at the reduced 114 HP and they are now down to the tread bar on the middle rear and about 1 mm on the outside soft rear portions. I'm ordering new tires this week as it's fall here in Northern California Sierras.

I was wondering if by your experience, I could get a bit more mileage from 3's? Thanks and great video btw.
Thank you for commenting. The R3s dual compound is quite soft, so I don't think you'll get extra mileage - unfortunately. There are more touring compounds available, but I suspect there will be grip and feel penalties. Some have very good things to say about the Michelin Powers. I hope this helps and happy riding.
