I'm going to build an actual wet air scrubber. I smell forest fire smoke every single day and also a constant "fishy" smell outside and sometimes in the house. I used to think pollution could only happen in china or if you were next to a metal smeltery. But it's here now, in my beautiful house in the suburbs.
What they don't tell you is that the bulb needs to be replaced every 2 to 3 years and its recommended to have the fan running 24 7 too. If you have a variable speed blower motor then it shouldn't be a problem but if u have a old loud annoying fan then it could be a problem.
How did you know the bulb needed replacing? I can tell mine isn’t working as I can’t smell it, plus the blue power light turns off. I can unplug the the power supply but when I plug it back in it will only stay on for a couple of seconds. Is this what yours did
@@papabearerickson the ballast inside is probably blown. Similar to a power supply. Should be lifetime warranty on the ballast. Have your contractor replace it. He may be able to replace the whole ballast & cell under warranty. If the ballast blows, then the cell isn't going to work.
Wired power to the air handler board at R and 24v Common. This provided the device with 24v to run. Within 1 week the blower motor over heated and seized. Coincidence or powered incorrectly?

Replace the blower. Problem solved.
Thanks for the video

Be prepared for a $240 bulb replacement every other year-of course they don't tell you that when they install it!
thanks fk.

That's because you need to add a transformer

Coincidence. I've been running this unit 24/7 for 6 months.
@@TheLawIX Thanks. was doubting myself haha
My air scrubber plus has the light on continuously. Is it to be on 24/7 ?
Once the blue light goes out, it means u have to replace the cell inside
The cell last about 2 years, though I had a client that lasted almost 4
