    1:25 Zabka is so subtle and intelligent with his acting, like the way in this split second he takes a couple of paces back from Kreese and looks down, showing the highschool kid inside him is still scared of his Sensei. It also doubles as a moment of Johnny checking footwork--both his own and his prospective opponent's--as all good martial artists do out of habit.

      In a way, though, Daniel Larusso brought this fight on himself. Think back, to where he told his own Daughter, Samantha (Sam), that Mr. Myagi had taught Daniel Larusso:"There are no enemies."
      Daniel Larusso apparently forgot that little lesson. It was very hypocritical for Daniel to extend his forgiveness to some...but not all. I know of the pasts of both Sensei John Kreese, and Sensei Terry Silver. That being said, though, they BOTH tried to apologize to Daniel Larusso.....and what does Danny-boy do? As I said:He forgot what Sensei Myagi taught him, about not holding grudges, and learning to be forgiving.
      One cannot be forgiven, if he will not be forgiving.
      Daniel Larusso is so full of hate and bitterness towards what should be his FORMER ENEMIES, that they remain his enemies, and this event shown here, kick-starts a whole new war between the now-present teams of four Senseis-Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence on one side, and John Kreese and Terry Silver on the other side.
      All because Daniel Larusso is too hard-headed, too hard-hearted, too stubborn, too bitter...and too unwilling, to forgive and forget...
      And to move on in life!

    • @husbandssam
      @husbandssam 10 дней назад

      @@ronaldshank7589 I understand your perspective, but I do not agree with you because there's a misunderstanding about Daniel's reaction to Terry Silver. Silver didn't just bully Daniel; he sadistically tortured him physically and mentally and made his life a living hell for months and months, and he enjoyed every second of it, which also deeply impacted Daniel's life and his relationship with Mr. Miyagi. Daniel has been deceived by Silver's apologies before, and given Silver's past actions and his change under Kreese's influence, it's understandable that Daniel remains cautious and does not trust him. True forgiveness requires consistent, meaningful actions, not just words. Silver, being wealthy, could have done something to earn Daniel's trust and forgiveness (and he should have) and demonstrated his sincerity through tangible acts of amends, such as making a genuine effort to make things right or showing consistent positive change over time. Instead, showing up with Kreese, who has his own grievances against Daniel, only exacerbates the situation. Silver's expectation that Daniel would easily forgive and forget everything that he did to him, and that they could just move on as if nothing had happened, shows a lack of understanding of the damage he caused. Additionally, Daniel has had a lot of trauma from what Cobra Kai did to him, which further explains his strong reaction and reluctance to easily
      forgive.
      Also, you are wrong-Kreese NEVER apologized to Daniel and continues to hold a grudge to this day, making his hostility ongoing. Kreese has always hated Daniel, ever since The First Karate Kid, simply because Daniel beat Johnny in the tournament that year. Kreese's inability to let go of that loss is evident in his extreme reaction, where he threw a temper tantrum and even tried to kill Johnny afterward. Prior to the tournament, when Mr. Miyagi and Daniel went to the Cobra Kai dojo, Mr. Miyagi respectfully requested that Kreese have his students leave Daniel alone. Instead of agreeing, Kreese refused and forced Daniel to fight in the tournament by threatening him and Mr. Miyagi with "open season" if they didn't show up. Kreese has never taken responsibility for his actions and refuses to move on from that tournament, which keeps the cycle of hostility alive. His refusal to let things go and his constant pursuit of revenge have only fueled the animosity between him and Daniel.
      As for Daniel, he is NOT full of hate. While he is not perfect and has made mistakes and has been a bit of a hothead, his actions and reactions are often driven by his experiences and the severe trauma inflicted upon him by Cobra Kai. Daniel has shown the capacity for forgiveness, as seen with Johnny, Chozen, and Mike Barnes, where each person made genuine efforts to make amends. His reaction to Kreese and Silver reflects the unresolved issues and the need for substantial proof of change. Mr. Miyagi's teachings are valuable, but they are not always a perfect fit for every situation. His wisdom provides important guidance, but real-life circumstances often require more nuanced responses. Not every principle applies perfectly in every situation. Daniel's decisions reflect his personal experiences and the need for genuine actions to earn forgiveness.

    Silver should've thought that just showing up at the dojo out of nowhere might've not been the best thing to do, considering what he did 30 years before. Maybe having his secretary set up a meeting wherever Daniel wanted to meet would've been more productive. And not having Kreese with as Daniel had just fought him. I know, for show purposes it had to be done this way

    Everyone saying it's strange that Johnny had no clue who Silver is--I agree. It smacks of bad retcons and lazy writing that no explanation is ever given. However, isn't it weirder that teen martial arts fan and local champion Johnny had also never heard of America's bad boy of karate Mike Barnes prior this season? Mike is someone who Johnny of the '80s might have thought was cool or looked up to.

      As much as I love this series I think it's a whole retcon. Johnny after losing to Daniel was at peace and said "You're alright La Russo (as he hands him trophy), good match". Then, the parking lot incident with Kreese and then at start of Karate Kid 3 all his students left due to his behaviors and ways. Basically, Johnny has made peace and moved on to bigger and better things.
      Then, we are introduced to this show which implies for 33-34 years Johnny has been living in depression and screwed up ways and he's still bitter about losing a High School Karate Tournament and the kicker is he wants to go back to Cobra Kai, the dojo that nearly killed him and had him realizing at end of Karate Kid 1 and start of Karate Kid 2 was bad ways and toxic. Retcon at it's finest.

      The problem with what you're saying is that from the perspective of the first Karate Kid, there was no Terry Silver yet. People believed it was just Kreese at that point. So it can't be a retcon when it's never established whether Johnny knew of Silver in the first place. The show ultimately reveals that Silver was being forced to run his family business or be cut out of the family inheritance. So how often would Silver see the dojo? Couldn't Silver have just been a shadow benefactor whom the students never met?

    Daniel's fatal flaw throughout the show is refusing to show forgiveness at the right moment he refused to show forgiveness to Silver in this scene and it eventually turned him into a dangerous adversary again. He screwed over a remorseful Kreese during the in prison and encouraged Johnny to do the same and now has a vengeful Kreese on the loose to do battle with one last time in the upcoming final season who's far more terrifying and dangerous than he's ever been in the franchise thus far, even though they could have reconciled during the prison meeting. Daniel's just hypocritical and unforgiving and it's caused problems for himself and as well other the characters in the show because he can't let the past go and recognize that 30 years is a long time and people even past enemies can change.

I've said this before and I will say it again Daniel's fatal flaw is hypocrisy and his unforgiving attitude and that's what sets up the final season in the first place if Daniel kept his word and gave Kreese the lawyer's number during the meeting in the prison some of the events of the upcoming season 6 wouldn't have happened.
