Hello, friends! If you enjoyed the video and wanted to support my channel, I have a "Buy me a Coffee" (in my case it would be tea) page which I'll link here: buymeacoffee.com/shawnaexplores but please don't feel any pressure to, the fact you're here and watching already means so much to me ❤ if you’ve already supported, thank you soo much!
PS I don’t know how I managed it but somehow (let’s blame it on me being slightly tired while editing) I used the same song twice in this video 😅😂 - I guess I must have been really enjoying it?
Such a beautiful room - what a treat! Glasgow is always so lovely in autumn! 🧡 I also adore watching the squirrels bury their treats at this time of year!
The botanic gardens have trails that take you along the river and back down along Great Western Ave. For travelors to Scotland check to see what discounts are available. Day passes are often cheaper. For those residing in Scotland there are many great deals on Scot Rail and the bus systems. If you are disabled, over 50, retired (over 60), a student, there are discounts on the trains. There is even a rail/ferry combo to the various Scottish islands and Ireland. On busses if you are disabled, over 60, you ride free, free or discounts aged 11-25. Both busses and trains allow dogs free.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to Glasgow. You showed it off to its best. I’ve lived in Glasgow for 70 years & it’s a wonderful place to live. Devonshire Gardens is a favourite of mine for a special treat. Thanks 🏴
I loved watching this! So lucky to get to stay at One Devonshire Gardens, I stayed there after my wedding and it is a gorgeous hotel! You definitely hit some good spots, Thistle Books is my favourite secondhand bookshop in Glasgow, and The Hyndland Bookshop is also so lovely :) I would recommend for lunch in future if you come back, across the road from the place you ate is Cottonrake Bakery which does delicious sandwiches, and also near the Hyndland Bookshop on the corner of that street is a lovely cafe/restaurant called Epicures which is well worth checking out!
Oh what an amazing place to stay after your wedding!! Thank you so much for the recommendations, we did spot Cottonrake Bakery but there was quite a long line but now I know why and we should have just waited 😂🩷
Lovely video Shawna. One Devonshire Gardens is very posh. The main road next to it Great Western Road. The area is the West End next to the university ( my old uni). I think you’d be surprised at how much cheaper housing is there in comparison to Edinburgh prices( not cheap but the same flats transferred to Edinburgh would be uber pricey). Really took me down memory lane . Hope you and Ashley had a lovely time.
Thank you so much for watching! It’s such a beautiful area, I’m looking forward to returning for another wander soon 😊 that’s so interesting, I have heard some others say that Glasgow house prices are better than Edinburgh. Interestingly, a friend who owns a business in Edinburgh says rent for a store is cheaper in Edinburgh (not sure if that’s still the case)!
I just clicked on your video due to the title of Scotland and now im your new subscriber . Scotland is my dream place, hope one day i will be able to visit there :)
Wow . Glasgow is truly charming in its own way! The hotel is lovely and the Architecture is insanely beautiful. Rich of history! And charming. I may have to rethink about Glasgow and add it to my choices in Scotland in my future move! lol Glasgow with its hidden gems places to see and venture in about. thanks for sharing! Alicia from Chicago.
I absolutely agree with you, Glasgow has its own beautiful charm 🥹 you summed it up so well! I’ve often thought about a move to Glasgow but it just doesn’t make sense for me at the moment but maybe one day 🤫🩷 hugs from Scotland!
Sorry I’m just now getting around to watching this video. Your 2024 pace has finally gotten away from me 🙈 So not only do we have a Shawna Binge, but we also have a Glasgow Binge! 🙌 The video was so lovely 😍 I really appreciated your story on the Dumas books! 😁 And please, always let your feet just wander around 👏
It’s such an incredible building! Can’t remember if I mentioned that it used to be 3 homes which they converted into a hotel 😮 and I’m so glad I’m not alone, always tea first 🙊☕️
21:07! Rules of Civility is such a great book, did you end up buying it? You really, really deserve such fantastic treats like the hotel stay and dinner! :)
It’s such a good book! Generally really love Amor’s writing 😍 I borrowed it from the library a while ago and would love my own copy but this one was a bit stained so I think I might ask for it for Christmas 🙊 thank you so much, Dirk! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend 😊
"i'm running late" , not the first time i have heard you say that and i just know it wont be the last :P Hope your wee toes have recovered after kicking the kist in the bedroom. Have a lovely week Shawna.
Hahah I always seem to be running late as hard as I try to be on time/early 😂 I wondered if anyone would notice that, I was going to cut it out but thought it was quite funny 🙊 have a great week, Jeph!!
What a beautiful old hotel and such a nice cozy...or cosy vlog! I'm hoping I get to the point in my RUclips channel where I get some travel perks! I just got back from Scotland and it was lovely!
Thank you so much for watching 🥰 It’s such a beautiful hotel, can’t remember if I mentioned in the video that it used to be 3 homes which they converted into a hotel! Glad you enjoyed your visit to Scotland 🏴😊
How could you have missed the statue of Dr. David Livingstone? The patriarch of the Victorian Era! Right in Glasgow Square right in front of the Counting House.

I think that property on Lowther Terrace was the winner of Scotland's Home of the Year a couple of years ago. Really enjoyed your West End wander!
Yes! I totally forgot to mention it in the vlog but there was a small plaque on the building 😍
Glasgow certainly has its own charm
I’ve never stayed there but I did have a meal in the restaurant a few years ago. Lovely video.
Thanks so much for watching, Linda 🥰We really enjoyed our stay!

Welcome! It’s so lovely to have you here, thanks for subscribing ☺️ I really hope you get the chance to visit Scotland one day soon 🏴
I’m lucky enough to have several friends who live in that neck of the woods. The flats are just as beautiful inside as out..!
Oh wow! How wonderful 😍 I’m tempted to revisit during December to see them all decorated for Christmas 🎄

The west end is a truly magical place. ❤❤❤❤
That hotel looks so nice! I’m sure I would have done the same and stayed in for a cp of tea before exploring 😊

Glasgow really has such style
Absolutely!! Incredible architecture at almost every corner 😍
We are planning a trip to Scotland and now I’ve added this hotel to the list🎉
Shawna I had Earl Gray tea today with honey and lemon; it was delicious!
Oh that sounds lovely!! 😍☕️

Thank you! I had the best time, one of my favourite cities ☺️
I hope you bought Rules of Civility. I loved it.
It’s soo good!! I’ve been looking for a copy (borrowed it from the library) for a while but this one was stained so the search continues 🙊🩷
"i'm running late" , not the first time i have heard you say that and i just know it wont be the last :P Hope your wee toes have recovered after kicking the kist in the bedroom. Have a lovely week Shawna.
The " kist" I haven't heard that in a while 😊
@@dedelaw-t2t My Mum always refers to the chest in her house as a kist, i guess the word must have seeped into my subconscious.
@jeph-rey thats what I would say too , make sure you keep it there we don't want to lose those " good Scots words "
Hahah I always seem to be running late as hard as I try to be on time/early 😂 I wondered if anyone would notice that, I was going to cut it out but thought it was quite funny 🙊 have a great week, Jeph!!
