Thanks for the great overview of my plug-in, Nutty! I'm excited to see what everyone builds with it, and you've given some great ideas for people to start with.
Homie, I've been watching you for the past 7 months and each time I'm in need of a resource or something completely new, you're always my first choice. Thank you for all that you do!!
Yes, that works great, when the filters should just be applied in one scene. But you cannot use the same filters in another scene. Using a clone is an option for things you might use in another scene. Using the group-tech works great for scene specific things. I think a clone may take more cpu cycles and ram.
As said in a finitesingularity stream, "Kawase" is the name of the guy who made that type of algorithm of dual filtering a long time ago, it is a homage to him.
@5:53, or just create multiples scenes named :Cam 1, Cam 2, etc and inside each of these scene add your camera source but apply the filter only to the individual scenes you want to customize..
Nested scenes are an okay way to do this without plugins. It creates a lot of clutter + isn't ideal for sources that exceed the size of your canvas (e.g. 4K cameras on a 1080p canvas). Source Clone is ideal for this.
Been keeping up with you for awhile now, Thanks so much Nutty for helping me upgrade my stream with a touch of fun and professionalism. I often get complements for the tips I learned here.
I think the glow filter is like the shadow filter but with a "hidden" and fixed 0px Shadow Distance and no Light Angle. I indeed use the glow filter as an all round shadow, setting the color to black instead of yellow or white
Great info and hilarious delivery as always mate, love your work! Really stoked you made this one! Been missing my outline since the old plug in went paid.
8:53 when I go to download the rotating shader it takes me to a raw GitHub page. Not sure how do I go about downloading it? Because it just shows a bunch of text data on a white page for me on that link. Thank u
love your content you inspire lots of ideas, i do got a question for you! i tried combining the chalk outline style with a recursion effect but it seems no matter what i do, it forces a white backdrop? maybe i'm not using the right tools, but it looks really cool with the gradient
8:54 not sure if my version is wrong but I cant seem to find the filter "rotating-source.shader" I have shaderfilter installed aswell as the stroke plugin.
Ok, I've done everything said but for some reason when I added it, my camera disappears and when I turn the filter to unvisable my camera returns. Anyone have any ideas why?
There are a couple of ways to do it. You can use the Source Clone filter to clone your facecam and then only apply the stroke to that. You can also put the camera in a group or in another scene, import that scene where you want it, and apply the filter to that scene.
Thanks for the video! I was searching for such an effect! :3 Little Hint: To avoid messing up the order of the filters, just put ur camera into a group and add the shadow filter onto that group. :)
Hey guys! I don't have that rotate-source shader! Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction? Doesn't seem to be included in the package linked.
Thanks Nutty to nut us in the nutus. I'm already having some ideas. Thinking about the glow yellow effect to make a DBZ scene with this "sayian" effect. Thanks ! 😎👍
It does not work for me, it gives this error: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item". Can anyone help me fix this? I would really appreciate it.
how to enable nvdia background removal in OBS? I dont see any option in my filters. Im using rtx 3060 12gb and already installed nvdia broadcaster and updated
Nice effect. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I knew, this is not the correct video, but maybe you can tell how to activate and deactivate Insta360 Link follow mode using any api?
The plugin has translations, and the most common issue people run into is that they're looking for "Stroke", "Glow" or "Shadow" but there are translated versions in the list. So if you're using a non-english OS install, that might be the issue. Otherwise, feel free to reach out to me on the OBS Forum and I'm happy to help you sort out the issue. (It should be 100% mac compatible)
Drop shaddow not working on my source clone. not sure if because the source clone is already resized, but i tried playing crop/pad still not working.. hmmm
yah i think because i have alt+crop the source clone, but im using a image mask/blend to capture the elements in my stream for my vertical. and i want to apply shadow effect.
@@FSingularity hey! Thanks for all the cool stuff! Can you help a couple of us in the comments located the rotate-source shader mentioned? I hunted for it, no luck. Thanks again!
@@dighawaii1 - Just responded to your comment (and the other one I could find) re: that shader. It looks like it was a recent addition to the plugin, but Exeldro hasn't yet made a new release with it included. I posted some rough direction on how to get the file off the project GitHub. I hope this helps!
@@nuttylmao you Legend, will be doing this soon as I can kick the kid of the PC lol, will be less GPU that the current clone of Webcam with colour filter black and white and transparency turned down to do the same. 🤣 Massive thanks
To clarify a bit of what Nutty said- the glow and shadow should easily work if you use the Dual Kawase blur type. Stroke should also work, but if you do the "high quality" offset option it may start causing a GTX 1070 to drop frames depending on what else you're doing with it.
@@FSingularity one way to find out LOL, and doing the hardest thing a gpu can do AI plus gpu encoding via obs to show and teach, im waiting to smell smoke, im on a pension so a new GPU is not in the books for a long time. as Nutty said shadow helps the green screen edging, so it doesn't need to be fancy ill note those tips thanks.
💸 Make sure to support here otherwise he won’t make plugins anymore and it will be all your fault, Kevin www.patreon.com/FiniteSingularity

2:34 When you come for the tutorial but stay for the pure artwork that is nutty's comedy timing
Love FiniteSingularity's plugins! The mask plugin is next level!
When using different filters on the same reference source, I usually just put that source in a group and use a filter on that group instead :D
This is a handy tip! Thanks!
Very good idea if you don't want to use plugins!

I like to give credit where credit is due!
I use it in my Magicraft Streams. The Game shows a lot of Black all the time. So I keyed pure black and put the shadow on it. Looks fantastic.

Yes! There is an upcoming video talking about it.

Same, and I hunted for it last night for a while. I think nutty doesn't want everyone to have it.
Here is the shader: raw.githubusercontent.com/exeldro/obs-shaderfilter/master/data/examples/rotating-source.shader

another great tutorial. loving the clone with shadow!
Nice, I share these with my kid, and various friends.
Thanks you so much, getting ready to start recording again and wanna try these out to make my videos stand out from other teachers
Can't I just place the effects on a folder so it doesn't affect my other cams

Adding the outline synchronized to your heart beat and than playing horror games would be great. ;)

I have been watching your videos for a long time, but just subbed. DEAL WITH IT!
🎉 so good information and fun to watch 🙌
Great stuff!! Totally stealing this idea for my talking head stuff!! Thanks man, well done!! Cheers!!
Works awesomely however I can't seem to get it to work on a display capture?
everytime i apply the filter the image disappears. what did i do!!
when talking about the stroke filter, just know that when you said thickness my brain autocorrected to thiccness.
holy shit, this looks exactly like what I'm looking for. I will test it tonight!
Another great video! I'll definitely be using this for discord calls!
Thanks for the video! I was searching for such an effect! :3

this vid was awesome man! so much value... thanks!
For some reason rotating source isn't there it's just the command lines unless I'm overlooking something ?
Nutty: *doesn't explain how to install the plugin"
Also Nutty: "If it's not working, you did it wrong"
Yeah no shit,
This is soooo cool nutty the butty!!
Would love to see someone setup like a Cylon facecam deal with the glow filter tied to their voice, might look pretty cool.
nice plugin! thanks bro!
This was so helpful. Thank you! Also you're hilarious.
This is a great plugin for obs. Can't wait to set it for my obs. 😮
lookin good nutty.

the only problem i get it is when I use the MOVE transition plus the DROP SHADOW, it doesn't transition smoothly :(
Thank you nutty!
Glow was too graphics intense for my PC. Nice addon though :)
I'd recommend trying the Dual Kawase blur type option for the Glow filter. It should easily run even on very low-end GPUs.
what you show at the end does that require a green screen
thank you very much
Is it resource heavy?
That's what I want to know
Nope! Just make sure to use Dual Kawase as the blur type. It's extremely efficient on your GPU resources!
Nice effect. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I knew, this is not the correct video, but maybe you can tell how to activate and deactivate Insta360 Link follow mode using any api?
Lol, ima have truck-kun run me over with chalk marks still laying about XD

Hi Nutty i am a huge fan and a testee on your patreon!!!
When will you release new posts on patreon? Because two month with no posts!!! 😢
This is awesome thank you
nutty how do i copy paste multiple subactions in streamer bot?
Did you link the source clone video? I can't see it
how the heck do i install???
What if I want to the strokes on 1 scene but not on my main scene ?
He explains that in the video. Use source clone,
One way to do it without additional plugins: add a stroke *source* to the scene you want the stroke. See 9:48 in the video.

the answer is ALWAYS drop shadow
pulse to your talking 😂😂😂
are you sure this is a drop shadow video and not a plugin video 😅but great video with lots of cool plugins to also look at
Shader filter is better
It's English
No need for another plugin, put same video source into a Group. Work smater not harder! Great vid otherwise!
Groups are mega doo doo in OBS lol.
Just get the plugin.
