My main problem with Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is that lots of Sinnoh Pokemon are locked until post-game. I spent so much of my time getting a Gligar only to just find out that you can't get a Razor Fang before the league so getting a Gliscor before the league is impossible unless done by trade.
I'm so happy I can get a Swinub early and Croagunk, usually my team is very small and overpowered until late game because I like late game mons but this version of the game makes it way easier to get a solid team right away!
I’m really disappointed they didn’t use the Platinum Dex and put those Pokémon in the over world. I get they wanted to make it as close to DP as possible but that limited dex means so many gym leaders and Flint have stupid teams. It’s also more fun to complete a bigger dex for the region.
Was pretty cool to find Munchlax early. Has a chance to be holding Leftovers, but it may also know Fling. A move that tosses the user’s held item at the opponent. Hope you all won’t get as many apple cores thrown at you as I have. However, if you’re lucky and catch Munchlax before it uses Fling then you’ll have a great healing item for your Pokémon. Good luck!
It's amazing how easy they made it to catch some Pokemon. I already got a female combee which took me forever in the original. I'm loving this game a lot so far

I’m curious on how to do a nuzlocke for these games. I’m planning to do one in my game but not sure if it’s okay To capture a Pokémon in a biome but capture another one in the same biome but different area of the underground
I'm doing a Grasslocke so if it's type specific limit it to two per badge. I think it adds more to the Nuzlocke. In a standard Nuzlocke do just 1 every badge
I think it would probably be one Pokemon for every biome, regardless if it’s the same biome type. But to make it more even you would probably have to catch the first Pokémon you see in the over-world, instead of running around in the biome and picking your encounter.
It would be unique and a little rewarding to link them to gym leaders. Beating a gym leader allows you to catch a Pokémon 1 biome that you haven't previously
Any Shining Pearl players who feel like Teddiursa is a bad version exclusive remember that it has the pick-up ability, and at level 11 pick-up pokemon can start finding Dawn and Dusk stones. This means that you can get early game Gallades and more. Farming stones is significantly easier in Shining Pearl when you have access to 4 different types of pick-up pokemon rather than Brilliant Diamond which only has 3.
I don't regret it as well but it could have more potential or at least include moveset from Platinum. Don't mock me with it's a Pearl/Diamond remake. Yes, but we have Fairy types so why not have some moves? At least from Platinum... Anyway the game is fun but not flawless 🤪

The fact that you can get Ice types early at all is a huge game changer. What exactly does “Special Pokemon” mean in the context of the document? That it’s a fixed spawn rate table separate from the other spawn table in the biome?

@@nathantarbet7800 that's not an early ice room, my dude. There's a glacier biome available early near the center of Mt. Coronet. That would be the earliest you can get an ice type besides Swinub without needing 6 badges to access Snowpoint City.

Well once Pokemon home is allowed to be used with bdsp you can get it from there with trades if someone has it and u have a Pokemon they want I have all sinno Pokemon on there right now so completing the dex will be easy
I found togepi in my very first room and i freaked out totally surprised because I expected it to be something impossible to find and it even had some solid moves that gave me a hard time to catch. I’m so happy I got it so early in the game and basically carried my team for majority of my game.
I wish more of the National Dex Underground Pokémon were available before the postgame. What we are stuck with before beating the Elite Four *BARELY* improves on what the original DP provided. We get like 2 new Fire-types, access to Togepi and a few other minor additions. That's it.
Acually all u have to do to get eevee early Is see all 150 pokemon then go see professor rowan in shining pearl or diamond and professor oak will appear and give the the national dex then u go get eevee
is it really a 50% chance of electirizer from elekid? Also curious to know if metal coat is that high on magnemite in the underground as well. I used thief on about 5 of each of them to no luck of metal coat or electirizer. Their spawn rates are kinda annoying too, taking at least 10 minutes for a single encounter in my experience.
@Leo best suggestion, use the statues for a boost in finding electric type Pokémon, and use the move thief on elekids. It took me a while to find one with it, but if you do, and want help trading him, let me know :)
Because of you, I was able to figure out how to get my togepi that I wanted to use for my team without worrying about where to go. I caught one soon after I found out about the hideaway they spawn in
@kevin zhu the basic rules of Nuzlock is catch 1 Pokemon per route nickname Pokemon Pokemon Perma death all 6 Pokemon in your team faint then it's game over and you need to re start the game. Watch out for the crits they do a lot of damage and make sure your not under leveling your team.
I was able to find a ralts and togepi in the Grand underground. Gardevoir is one of my favorite Gen 3 Pokemon and she helped immensely with the Elite Four.
You can get them before the post game as long as you complete the national dex. As long as you see all of Cynthia's pokemon, you can still complete the natl dex

It's only like a 5% chance to get the electifer for elekid I took me awhile to get one if u have the move thief use that battle elekid use thief if nothing happens run and keep trying
Rip the people who wanted Probopass or Yanmega in their playthroughs. Nosepass is only available post game as a swarm encounter, while Yanma is only available as a post game great marsh encounter.

only thing you left out is that the pokémon are already level 60 in the caves so if you have catch a level 60 chimchar you can’t evolve it

Yes, the only pre Nat Dex mons are Chimchar, Ponyta, Houndoom and Magby

Some Pokemon are harder to catch like Scyther or Onix. Use Great Balls, Ultra Balls, or other ones that are better than Pokeball.

Catching graveler or electrode could be a pain because they know explosion just when you get their health down far enough they just self destruct
