The Mets are just 5 games from the Braves now is the time to put this shit on high gear. Mets need to get some good pitching from the bullpen in order to compete.
Reinforcements are on the way with Sean Reid-Foley and Edwin Diaz set to return soon. Even then, it would probably make sense to see if you could swing a trade or two.
Come on, Ryan. You should know better. The Pete Crow-Armstrong trade was a winner for the Mets. Javier Báez was great for the Mets in 2022. In 47 games he batted .299 with 9 HR, 5 SB, 22 RBI and an OPS of .886. Trevor Williams was also good for Mets. In 2021 Williams had an ERA of 3.06. In 2022 he was invaluable to the Mets as a long reliever and a spot starter. He posted an ERA of 3.21 that year Meanwhile, what is Pete Crow-Armstrong besides a guy with three names? He isn't even a starter and with good reason. He's hitting .192 with 1 HR and an OPS of .520. Three years after that trade his career stats are .174 BA, 1 HR, and a .486 OPS. True, he's a good defensive center fielder, but so are a lot of guys, including Bader. The notion that the Mets got beat on that trade (and I hear it everywhere) is a misnomer. To answer your question: NO. I wouldn't want Pete Crow-Armstrong patrolling the outfield for the Mets.
Every game is the same scenario! All the teams we face, are confident that even if they are 6 or 7 runs below, they can just wait the bullpen and suddenly they can win the game. This is unacceptable.
Don't know wtf Stearns is waiting for ,the minute we lost Diaz and Smith he needed to make a move not bring up bums ,and mendoza is clueless takes out Peterson with 86 pitches in the 6th did the same with serevino with 76 pitches vs the astros ,the man reminds me of Aaron Boone, mendoza be mismanagement of the bullpen ,and you take out one of our hottest bats out of the line up with a 1 run lead for defense, he's lucky it didn't bite him in the ass ,this bullpen is so bad no lead is safe the walks continues to hurt us ,but we won barely lol,

@TheAvargas687 Most Yankee fans have wanted Boone fired the last 3 seasons, but he sucks up to Cashman and Cashman sucks up to Steinbrenner. I don't understand how coaching for Boone can get anyone a managerial job.
What Edwin Diaz did is inexcusable and it's a big part of the reason why the Mers lost a few of those games that we lost over this stretch of games he's out. I'm still upset about that
Mendoza punished the team and the fans by mismanaging the pitching in Diaz absence. He pulled Manaea, Quintana, Severino and Peterson too early in each game since Diaz suspension(average of 84 pitches).

Instead of Jay and Festa with no mlb experience Why diddnt they bring up walker who has some mlb experience Especialy that call they made for Festa to face a team like the astros at a crucial part of the game, was nerve recking for me and that goes without saying for Festa
I am a Jeff McNeil supporter, but wow, he is just useless at the plate. His defense is good and he can play 7 positions, but he just can't be batting every day. Just can't do it. At a minimum, he must lose playing time vs. righties and let Iglesias get half the starts, not just 30% of them with lefties on the opposing mound.
It is sooo frustrating watching Mendoza make the same mistakes over and over again. He can't wait to take the ball from a starter and give it to a bum reliever. Again, again and again.
@kenip9800 I have a theory about that, that is, how come position players often have better stats than relievers. My guess is that by the 9th inning the hitters are no longer concerned about padding their stats and want to end the game as quickly as possible.
@@GeraldM_inNC I think it depends on the individual hitter. Some guys seem perfectly happy to pad their stats against a position pitcher - others, not so much.
@4:30 you ask why make it more dicey? The entire bullpen is DICEY! A starter is a starter because he is a better pitcher. In all other positions they upgrade the defense later in the game. Also, relievers have to go 2 innings so that the dregs at the bottom of the barrel are not in games at critical ju8nctures. Baseball has gone from dumb to stupid in how they use pitchers.
