And what is the point of Alley Viper in the Artic due to that Alley's training is gear for Urban Combat. In Short, Alley Viper are Cobra's answer to S.W.A.T. and other Urban units.
Sunbow/Marvel with Hasbro and DIC animation and the old producers and very good writers were the real G.I.Joe's. I salute these people with a good sense of real stories thus far no matter where G.I.Joe(animated) is stream or even bought all the DvDs. It is and will stand true and tested. Yooooo Joe!!! Cobraaaaa retreat!!! Retreat!
It was pretty bad when the Joes starting fighting mutant outerspace monsters and crap like that. The comic book by this point was basically "The Snake Eyes and Ninja Force Show", too.
its funny, because back then, when I saw these, I thought if a movie was made that looked like that, it would be ass, but lo and behold, I would prefer this over what was passed off as 2 gi Joe movies...
It is pretty crazy how much they messed those movies up, everything about them is a mistake. How hard is it to make up a G.I. Joe story? What were they thinking?
I feel like the ONLY way to do a good GI Joe movie is with the cheesy costumes, actually having it set in the 80’s, and doing it in the fashion of a Schwarzenegger R rated action movie. Just imagine that shot of Snake Eyes fighting Cobra soldiers in the jungle, but through a Tarantino style lens.
If a GI Joe movie had the production value and acting caliber of these commercials, I would actually watch it. They could make remote control versions of all the vehicles for the combat scenes that used them, shamelessly green screen and dead giveaway set pieces. It would sell more tickets, finish on less than half the budget of previous efforts, and bring to light a more nuanced and intellectual dimension to the oversaturated attempts we have been offered in this century. CAST: Ryan Reynolds is Duke Margot Robbie is Scarlet Terry Crews is Roadblock (and Roadblock is Terry Crews) Nicolas Cage is Destro Tony Jaa is Snake Eyes John Lithgow is Cobra Commander Selena Gomez is The Baroness Rob McElhenney is Shipwreck I'm open to other suggestions, I don't have a Storm Shadow or General Hawk yet, hit me.
@@GraemeGunn That's the -price you pay- risk you take when you make something go Live-Action. Of course, they're never going to be able to capture the complete magic of the originals.
THAT'S how G.I. Joe is supposed to look like in Live Action! Not like these two Movies they made. It's a Shame they never made a TV-Show what looks like this awesome Commercial.
These commercials are so campy and corny that if someone actually made this into a full length movie today, it would probably be on par with MCU movie sales and views. Probably what this world could use right now! ❤️ I would absolutely watch it just because the fun factor and not taking things to serious or overly political. Just good old fashioned good vs bad and lots of quips and light hearted jokes with a positive message ❤️
The new one was way to serious and realistically violent. I like the old days when everyone was basically a StarWars clone trooper that couldn’t hit the side of a planet so everyone ends up throwing down with fists and everyone lives to battle another day. Not Duke getting mowed down with a A-10 equivalent and Dwayne Johnson playing Roadblock on a vendetta only for Duke to be completely forgotten in the second movie.
When I was a kid I was hoping that the actors in these commercials would play the characters in either a live action show or movie. The actors playing the characters brought them to life and inspires a lot of cosplayers.
This was around the time the toyline really went off the rails, which is unfortunate, as these ads were completely epic. Props on apparently casting Chris Latta as Cobra Commander. At least the guys who made the commercial knew what the kids wanted
It's sad when a 20+ year-old toy commercial has better action direction than 90% of today's action/adventure movies. (Yeah, the effects aren't very good, but the choreography is top notch, and you can actually see what is going on!)
amen brother... this has the essence of what a GI Joe movie should have looked like. Everyone with his characteristic costume and weapons. Wish this was an actual tv show. Nowadays GI JOE movies just suck. Pure crap.
I used to do a Power Rangers fan film that was supposed to be a mash-up homage to Rise of Cobra, but instead later ended up coming off like the Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego of PR and had to cancel the project. And yes speaking of this, 1993 was the year Power Rangers came out and 1993-94 was the final year of the original RAH era of G.I. Joe.
If this was a TV show or movie I would watch it to death. It's funny I really thought they were going to do a movie or a TV show at least back then. But it turns out it didn't happen.
I remember getting the comic in the later years and some had trading cards with stills from this commercial and i believe they were saying the stills were from an upcoming movie that never got made
Goofy as f**k but brings back fond memories. I think this was the era that brought the Joes down (Ninja Force??) and I was there when Hasbro announced its cancellation in the following year.😬
Always thought that Space Force stuff was really awkward. 20 December 2019, "U.S. creates United States Space Force as an independent service". Okay, so maybe it wasn't as awkward as the reality.

GI JOE - American's #1 task force with the least enforced dress code!
20 years later and this commercial still hypes me up to the max!!!!

This ad must have cost a fortune!
Only the hardcore fans were still collecting in '93.
Cobra Commander's Hood looks so latex in this commercial.
Yeah it's so weird. Surely it would have just been easier to grab... some cloth?

I imagine that this ad made quite a few 90's kids shout "YO JOE!!!" and want to do battle against Cobra.
Omg I remember getting these for Christmas.
One of the best Christmas I've experienced as a kid.

The effects are way lower quality, but they're still somehow better. Michael Bay could learn a thing or two from this.

That was a stellar commercial! Didn't expect hollywood grade.
Props to a toy commercial that got me hyped even after I had stopped collecting the toys.
"A Real American Hero. Yo, Joe!"
This commercial absolutely made me want to get more G.I. Joes!!!
An epic commercial and really fun to watch thanks for the video. G.I.JOE FOREVER 👍
They should have made a movie sooner and using this cast

They don't make commercials like that anymore.

Yup, the final Marvel Comics G.I. Joe ad.
This far better the the GI Joe movie.
Yes better then all the movies 👍
Man, this commercial really gets in your face.
What's pretty sad is that a year later Chris Latta(cobra Commander) would pass away.
coincidentally, the same year that the original gi joe toyline ended
I was past gijoe and working at a major toy retail store. i made fun of these commercials. I couldn't wait for the next one though. I love them now.
......why was Snowjob in the jungle??
This commercial has more testosterone in it that the entire Zoomer generation
What a great ad this wouldve been a basis for a proper GI JOE movie...love 90s Joes
A power rangers style g.i. joe show would’ve made bank in the 90’s. ~_~
Black Metal Cobra Commander!
better than actual movies
This would've been a live movie with actors!!!!!!!!!!! That'd be so awesome!!
That snake eyes suit was pretty cool
This reminds me of Captain Power which came out about 7 years before this commercial was made.

cobra has a death star we are all FUCKED BIG TIME.
A commercial that awful shows how desperate they were to keep the toy line alive!
This is waaaay better than the two films and the worst part is they are making a third movie.
You'll be seeing stars. YEEEEEA GO JOE

i'm pretty sure the toy commericals (and how there was a continuing story) would of made for a better movie then what we got.
