That’s ridiculous Every thing was on a rope.. that’s how you good you have to be to play at that level… That being said he should win a lot more than he does tbh All time great swing and talent
Older golfer here who never became completely comfortable with today’s larger 460cc head shoebox size drivers. So I went to the 11.5 degree TM BRNR Mini Driver and it’s smaller 304cc head this year. I am hitting the ball as far but with much more confidence in accuracy. It is now fas a permanent place in my bag, replacing my former TM Stealth2 Driver. And it looks awesome as well. Luv it!!!
I'm a fellow older golfer Barry and, like you, struggled for a long time to wield one of the modern driver heads. Even though they were lighter than our old 1-woods, they look like they are hard to swing. I remember thinking, the first time I tried, that it looked like I was about to swing a VW Beetle over my head. I've eventually gotten used to my current driver but still prefer the slightly smaller 430cc heads that some brands offer. I'm very keen to give the min driver a go, if only they were more available.
@@rufussthoo4083 Even the 430cc driver was too much. I was hitting the Stealth2 Max okay, but inconsistent to the point I’d hit my 3 wood more often on some of the tighter courses. I got lucky early in the season the local golf warehouse store had one remaining BRNR Mini Driver with stiff shaft. I hit a small bucket and knew this was the driver for me. My driver accuracy has significantly improved and with no loss in yardage. I still have my old Power Built Citation persimmon 1 wood. It used to be my favorite club. I’d hit it off the tee and deck. I played that for many years even when everyone was moving to the titanium’s like the Ti Bubble, and winning some local long drive contests. Now I take it to the range once in a while and I can’t hit the darn thing😂
I can't hit a driver. I've tried everything except hippnosis. Hit my Ping 3 wood 240/250ish. The mini should give me a few extra yards without losing confidence.
Dude, i was literally just thinking the same thing….why mess with the ball when you have tech now to solve it. A lot of pros complain about how forgiving drivers are these days..this would solve it all
@@cchsiao817 just doesn't fill a role he needs. Sometimes these guys want a spinny 3w that they can hit into greens. Scheffler specifically has a spinny setup with his because he plays a 3i instead of a 5w. Drivers you want to go as far as you can get them (accurately), pretty much every club is filling a role other than that. The mini driver doesn't do what these guys are looking for often, that's why you see few of them on tour. I'm sure there are specific players and courses where they're useful, but it isn't common.
Not saying anything against the golf club, but of course he's going to say it's nice - what else would he say - TaylorMade is paying him to be on their "team". If, by chance, he found the club to be a piece of s@#t, then no doubt this video wouldn't exist in the first place ...
These guys must have seen Rory hit a lot of balls, but the expressions on their faces after each shot suggests he still amazes them with every shot. That was a ball-striking master class.
Just got home from the range with my burner mini. Absolutely love this club. Picked it up the day they dropped, since I had been looking for last years model used. I was so excited when the notification came through about the release, that I left work and got one immediately. Set mine down to 12.5. Such and awesome club, now if only I could hit it as far as Rory😂
My only worry is somehow I'll damage mine and won't be able to replace it haha. I absolutely love this club. I think I'm going to sell my driver entirely and just go mini driver. Distance loss is negligible for me, but accuracy is incredible.
i ended up getting the new 2024 copper version and i LOVE it went with the 13.5 degree and the MCC +4 midsize grip I am 59 years old and a 8 handicap off the fairway is awesome and off the tee glad i went with it to go inbetween my 9 degree driver and my 17 degree Hywood then my Qi10 Max 7 wood 22 degrees Knock on wood off the deck i have been blasting it it works great for me cheers from Canada
Played my first round today with the mini driver (stiff-stock shaft 11.5 degree with the heavier weight in front) and wow, didn't miss a single fairway. Very easy to hit and made me feel super confident off the tee. Lost around 8 yards compared to driver but didn't missed any fairways 😂. Very impressed overall. I would definitely recommend this club if you want a fairway finder that gives you pretty much the same distance as driver. 10/10
Love my BRNR. Fairway finder on steroids. Not much of a distance loss vs. the big stick. Now Titleist is in the mini game and Callaway was showing off its new AI Smoke mini at The Masters.
I have so much more confidence hitting a more minor driver's head. As weird as this may sound, I get tentative with the 460cc drivers, but with this mini-driver, I can actually step on it. So the mini driver goes farther, and I never had 3 wood, just 17 degrees 4 wood, so this is great to fill that gap of trying to reach 260 yards 2nd shot into par 5. But before completely committing to it, I am waiting for the Callaway version, as I know they are about to launch one, too.
Rory's very first swing is exactly why driver head size should have been capped at 400cc. The ball, iron grooves, etc aren't the "problem", the large face size of drivers to flex and generate speed is the issue. USGA should be watching this video.
It's no wonder this club has sold out everywhere. It has that traditional look/design to it similar to the Burner 30 years ago. The shaft is 3 wood length which means it's a modern 2 wood that has more control for straighter drives on really tight golf courses. It's hits off the fairway better than today's driver. No wonder it's sold out.
I absolutely love the TM acoustic (maybe more than my backup TSR3 woods). I swear TM's carbon crown coupled with that ZA Ti face has such a nice muted pop to it and the ball speed and trajectory can't be compared. Debating these days if the 2W category is going to expand into the market by other OEMs or if TM will be the main one.

i know rory took the 3 wood out of the bag for this at the heritage but i would be thinking at places like augusta where its more about accuracy he takes the driver out for this and plays a way spinnier 3 wood his driving accuracy would be great and he still hits it a mile with this
15 handicap here , difference between a 3 wood and this mini driver? I use a steath 3wood 15 ° off the tee instead of my driver will this be the answer ?
I'm an 8. The mini compared to the 3 wood looks bigger at address and with tee as first shot or off the deck, The Mini goes further and for me straighter. I use the 3 wood for my stock distance for a 3 wood only, usually 20 yards less than the mini
The mini is even easier to hit off the tee than a 3 wood, and will go further. You could have mini, then 5 wood, then add something else low down or put a driver up top.
Was he using the shorter shaft that comes with the BRNR or was that a standard length driver shaft on the BRNR head? Can't tell for sure but it didn't look like the shorter shaft. If it wasn't the short shaft, I would have liked to see his thoughts on it as well.
I find it interesting that Rory only looks at the target once or twice before he hits the shot. However, I noticed at this week's tournament in Charlotte he is looking to the target and back to his ball somewhere between 8 and 10 times. Curious, a most pros are religious on practicing the same routine that they take to the golf course. Before anyone attacks this statement, Rory is my favorite player. I just found it curious is all
I’m still trying to figure out what kind of golfer needs this. Is it if you struggle with a regular driver? And this is longer than a 3w but more accurate than a driver?
Hopefully me - club golfers who grew up playing shorter woods. Can't hit up on ball with long shafts with any consistency. And who don't hit it short. More mass... More joy? 🤞

Screw the ball rollback. Mini driver size should be the standard for the driver

This id my favorite video you guys have ever posted

Really genius! Honestly the long hitters can still have some advantage but driving accuracy will be important again!
