When I first started watching - I almost skipped it thinking to myself: oh well, can’t do this one. See, I don’t freehand paint anything. But this is doable!! Thanks ☺️

He was one of my favourite artists. I sure miss him!
I used this type of technique on my nieces wedding cake doing a free hand copy of the lace on her wedding gown. You can do it with royal icing and alcohol/ lemons or almond flavoring on the cake it really is not difficult and the result. Is gorgeous and different. The reception venue owners told my sister the cake would of cost $1,000.00 from bakery and they loved it.
I've decorated cakes for many a year and NEVER have I thought to use the same skill and paint it onto Ornaments. I have about 6 boxes of the old fashioned glass bulb ornaments that bought at a yard sale that are setting in the top of my Craft closet because I didn't know what I wanted to do with them. Now I do!!!! Thank you!!!!
I love how the pulled paint lets some of the ornament peek through, leaving a nice tinge to the flower - beautiful!

Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful ornaments with us. I just love how they look and when I am up in Dublin I will see if I can find the items I need to make my own. They look wonderful . I personally make hand quilted ornaments and I find them good therapy for my left hand. In major accident in 2009 but to matter worse doctor severed 2 main arteries to my heart and I died on the operating table. Luckily for me there were 2 vascular doctors in the operating room next door and came running when the code went out for help. I have lost about 95% use of my left arm but I find making these ornaments helps to keep it moving. I can't wait till I can make my own. I am now living back home in Ireland as I was born and raised but lived in the USA since I was 21 now I home and have time on my hands. Looking forward to making these. I thought the very first ornament you did with the filigree was going to be my favorite but now I'm thinking this is going to be my favorite and I'm kicking myself because I don't have any modeling paste. I've got the ornaments to do these on so maybe this is going to have to be an extra project oh my goodness these are beautiful.

FYI...you can use any 3D paint for brush embroidery! I even used it on fabric tote bags for Christmas presents one year! Great ornament project!

We used to do a same technique with puffy paints and add fabric and paint flowers on sweatshirts in the late 80s early 90s...you made beautiful ornaments

I like the ruffling on the edges of flowers too. Some real flowers have ruffling, some have smooth edges, but when you're just making it up, it's really dealer's choice. Ruffling does make it more interesting and it looks more skillful. Very pretty flowers. I can't wait for my supplies to arrive so I can start doing something similar.
