    I have a 7-string guitar. I made a not so common combination of both, the AN in the neck and the LF in the bridge and I must say that it sounds spectacular. I am very happy with the sound. The AN gives very sweet bass and in the soloing. It has a balanced sound, while the LF is very powerful for clean and overdriven chords, both are spectacular!! 🎸🔥 I congratulate you, very good demonstration!!👏👏

    Theyre both sounding impressive to me, but the Liquifier has just a bit more attack to my ears, plus it matches the pole piece look of the super distortion in my bridge so my choice is simple. Thanks for demoing these and for the awesome playing.

    Fantastic comparison, also those are some GROOVY tunes... I have a Tone Zone at my bridge, and I think you sold me on the Air Norton for my neck 👌

    I have been trying to decide between these two pickups for ages and I think you have convinced me to go for the liquifire. Although I keep coming back to comparisons like this and changing my mind!

    At the cleanest settings I liked the LF better but as gain went up they were SUPER close with the LF having more mellow edge. This made the Air Norton stick out of the mix better. The Driven Riffing section, they are identical! And nearly so on Prog Riffing. LOL

    Awsome video dude.
    I long wanted to see such an amazing comparison.
    Watching your video I felt that the air norton sounds really voicing and singing all the guitar notes in the drive solos, on the other hand the liquid fire sounds very smooth and more present while you played the clean notes. I have an air norton and my friend have a liquid fire, both pickups are outstanding, can't say which one is better, a comparison with the air norton and the illuminators would be great too.
    Congratularions!

    Killer review and playing once again, dude! It’s weird…I liked the Air Norton more in your demo, but for my style, tone and feel I enjoyed the Liquifire more when I owned it. Nevertheless, killer stuff \m/

      Thanks a lot for checking it out! I really love the Liquifire for solos, I appreciate the smoother and less pointy top end. Still not sure what I’ll keep. What did you have your pups in?

    • @michaelnugent9758

      @@illbeinyourband That is exactly why I prefer it, honestly. Mine were in a USA Dean Soltero (so, pretty much a Les Paul). Maybe the scale length has something to do with it(?) Probably, who knows. Either way, I had both pickups in a 24 3/4” scale guitar and I personally preferred the Liquifire. Both punch WAY above their price point, for damn sure either way!

  • @ebandzekan

    Both of them sound really good I don't know which one I would choose. AN is more brighter slightly more colorful with higher output. LIQ is more warmer and vintage.

  • @warmtoiletseat5596
    @warmtoiletseat5596 2 года назад +9

    To my ears, AN have more presence while Liquifire feels like kinda held back a little. I like both and can't chose between the two. Feels like AN is better for live while Liquifire is more suited for studio recording.

    • @illbeinyourband
      @illbeinyourband  2 года назад +3

      I’m honestly torn between which I’m keeping! The Air Norton has a great bite, which I do love in neck pickups, but I could hear (and feel) the smoothness of the Liquifire when soloing. I liked the AN better for the rhythm parts and LF better for soloing.

    First and foremost awesome riffs! Secondly this is a great video. Trying to determine a good neck pickup match for a Super 3 I am putting into a made in Japan Jackson (alder body) Will be a dedicated thrash metal axe.

      I have a tone zone but am still feeling it out. Depending on what you like, I HIGHLY recommend the Steve’s Special bridge. It’s perfect for me.

      I have an Ibanez RG, I got a Tone Zone at my bridge, it's soo bright, clear and crisp, it's wonderful for guitar solos and has great clarity with big fat chords.... I'm most likely going Air Norton for my bridge, I love it's deep and smooth tones for the cleaner stuff.

      I mean you can’t go wrong with Tone Zone and Air Norton. That is a classic combo and is used on many of the prestige’s even still, so I would do that!

    • @robertfrey8924

      Assuming the scale length is also 24.75" I would say the Air Norton would edge out the Liquifire slightly. The AN seems to have a bit more top end.

    They’re very close. Just bought myself a Yamaha Pacifica 120H, which I will bring to a higher level by changing hardware and pickups. Decided to go for the SD SH-14 Custom 5 in the bridge and probably the Air Norton in the neck. Although a D Activator also seems tempting. By the way, you are a gifted player!

    • @dannylundmark
      @dannylundmark 2 месяца назад

      I have the sh-14 in the bridge on my Les Paul, but I put a SD Phat Cat in the neck- how do you like the sh-14? It’s a mean pickup, right?

    • @rmcaudio7041
      @rmcaudio7041 2 месяца назад

      @@dannylundmark Yes, it’s a mean pickup indeed. Great allrounder too. Some complaint about the scoped mid-range, but that’s not something I recognize. It has the right amount of growl I was looking for.

      That’s how you play Mesa amps generally. They’re such mid-heavy beasts that if it’s not tamed it sounds like a wool cloth over your speaker. Now if you did that EQ curve to a Marshall or Orange I’d have some words.
