- Today we have two similar semi truck from american wilds DLC, Ford LTL 9000 and Chevy Bison, Both have same addons, same specs, same everything, let's compare them if they are same too.

The Chevy has pure highway tire treads while the Ford's treads are meant for dirt/non muddy areas. Now I'm not sure if the treads actually have different grip values in the game.

I really like the design of American classic big rigs, especially the Ford 9000. But let's be honest ... they're almost useless for this game.We need all-wheel drive American trucks from Uncle Sam's warehouse. Hope we will shortly get some of them in the new DLC.

You really have to be gentle on the throttle with the Ford, she starts to sink if you use too much force, its all about precision and technique which at first I got frustrated getting stuck all the time and still once in a while do, however I was determined to have this truck be used for what I intended it for and now it is a blast and very rewarding to achieve my goal.

The Western Star is all wheel drive
@@ericd1632 I know it :) But still it is not 100% off-road truk, like URAL or KrAZ. So I’m really looking forward to something from Uncle Sam’s stock. Single-off-road tires, high ground clearance, etc.
The Ford LTL9000 is the clear winner when used for logging. Long logs on both trucks and climb the steepest road you can find...you'll agree...then do the same with the Ford LTL9000 and C256...C256 wins every time. C256 is a little more fuel hungry, but well worth it.
In reality, the Ford and Chevy aren't in the same class. The Bison was an early-late 80s long haul truck, while the Ford has a mid-80s to mid-90s short range semi-offroad truck, that was also a little lighter.
The LTL was a long haul truck.

I think the Ford is better due to its slightly more traction tires
After using both in the game and driving a 9000 in real life I would have to go with the ford because of its dependability and the fact that it can actually handle mud as long as there's weight on the back
The Ford can also be geared down lower for better traversing of mud. 1L is useless on the Chevy, the wheels barely turn.
Drive a actual LTL 9000 mines flat black they handle like a dream compared to our international 😁

Maybe you could do C-256 vs either Ford LTL or Freightliner since they only have diff-lock and they are classified as highway trucks.
the ford is longer and so it can tow more trailers than the chevy it is also heavier and more powerful engine wise, but I still like the chevy more and it feels a bit better off road probably because it is lighter

To me the ford feels like it has more torque down low it seems like it pulls heavy loads up hill better

If you wanna haul a heavy load, get a Ford. If you wanna swallow a heavy load, get yourself a Chevy.
You should have mention the Bison can't pull any trailers with a 3 point carrage on back. This makes it less practical so you can't take 3 points for 1 mill and 4 for another, which I do all the time with scavenge.
So for the AW specifically the Ford is way more useful.
Also, I wanna know if those tires have more traction or if they are just cosmetic.
@@SD1ONE Put the short log carrage on and then try to put the medium log trailer on the Chevy at the same time. With the carriage on the Bison you can't pull any trailers.
The Ford doesn't have that problem.
@@SD1ONE Also can't pull any trailers if it has the utility attachment.
Both the utility attachment and the carriage stick out too far on the Bison and block the hitch.
On the Ford the hitch sits slightly further back so it doesn't have that problem.

Hummer h1 would not only kick Chevrolets as*( hummer has awd and diff lock), but this fight would not be fair due to Chevrolets use is mainly for logging or maybe even a refuel and/or repair truck and hummer h1s use being only for scouting...
The Hummer H1 is probably not as capable in the game as it should be. Try scaling a pile of logs in it with a 40-50 degree grade for example and it will pretty much slip. In real life, it’s capable of scaling its nose up a vertical surface.
You should do the ford LTL 9000 vs the other blue one. Can’t remember what it’s called though. Anyways put those to up against each other to see what might be the best for light off rode and ect. Great video by the way!!! For a sec I thought the freight liner would win. Another idea! You should do all the American wilds winners vs all of the Russian winners!!! But we’ll have to wait for that because we still have a little bit more to go!!

To me, the Ford feels “smoother” than either of the American semi trucks. The bison is lightest duty, and the freight liner is the heaviest, not counting the western star. Being in the middle kinda adds to that feeling.

Hey sd1one! You should do a strength comparison between Chevrolet bison and freightliner! ( have them pull E7310 (no load), then E7310 with a full tank of fuel (the attachment... not the trucks fuel tank) then a E7310 that is maxed out with logs)! Plz and thx!

I love both of them, actually, i prefer both of them! sadly, i can't use the LTL (9000) & Bison at the same time, i need space for mah Western Star. :3
Unlike the Bison, the LTL is capable of hauling a short log attachment and a medium log trailer at the same time, while the Freightliner can haul a short log attachment with a crane
Also Bison doesn't mount a crane, right?

Would be hard to choose which is the better one. Both have similar engine options, a Cat 3406 14L diesel and a Cummins N-Series (though not sure which one as the information on what was offered for the Bison is not readily available). I would have to say the Ford Louisville (LTL9000) would probably be the better truck in the long run.

I have barely used these vehicles, but the few times I did, I only noticed slight differences between them.
Ford LTL9000:
Slightly heavier
Better turning radius
More traction in mud
Faster turn recovery
Chevy Bison
Faster
Easier handling
Better at pulling
More prone to over steer
Again, this is just from the few times I used these. So these are probably far from how they actually perform.

Well I know a lot of people play on PC but on PS4 the bison can't equip trailers with any frame attachments because it covers the hitch

But it's such a 'barely able to' if you hit a bump wrong the trailer will glitch and prop up your back tires and make you lose nearly all traction making needing to use any non-semi trailers impossible with any frame attachments

One way to make controlled throttle easier, is if you have a DS3 or DS4 controller hooked up to your computer. Of course you'll need the corresponding programs Better DS3 or Better DS4 to use them.

Both models are dead since GM Truck Division went to Volvo, and Ford went to Daimler, they changed it into Sterling before killing it.

Ah I called it. I knew as soon as we got to mud that the Chevy would suffer.
I'm not to surprised the Chevy matched the Ford in most other areas, both as fast road trucks. But the Chevy sucks in mud.

Ford is better revs better and goes through mud better. Overall acceleration is also better.
Know this because I played it yesterday and had same setup for both and clearly Ford was better.
