A few reasons I think as to why the coven didn't keep Hunter. They may have put Hunter up for adoption so they didn't have to put in the resources for early childhood development. Maybe also the ritual needed the child to have a sense of innocence that a being brought up in a cult wouldn't give. Also Robbie's general personality. The coven wants to blend in so they don't get caught. And you can see the difference in Robbie and Hunter's behavior. the coven may have seen it as, if they raised him, he would be antisocial and distant like Robbie. As to WHERE Robbie came from, he is most likely just a coven member's kid that was raised with cult brainwashing. But I'm with the dad about the sleeping pills, no nonconsensual drug use. She could've brought it up with the daughter as an option if she is having a rough night's sleeping and discuss possibly getting low-dose options from a doctor. But secretly slipping something to someone just because you don't want to deal with them? That's so violating.

never thought of this till now and I haven't seen the entire series to know if this is cannon or not but I feel like Tobi was a miscarriage or died by accident before the sacrifice could happen by the grandma and they kept trying to have a son but ended up having 2 girls so the grandma figured she could try again when a new son was born into the family but they had 2 girls again so now Coven Grandma is fed up and is trying to resurrect the original sacrifice into the body of another child and or to let it finally have a full host so they can bring whatever they are trying to bring back. But if you are interested in a movie besides the "main series", have a look at "Tokyo nights". It is loosley connected to the main series, but got more the vibe of the first 3 movies and some pretty creative ideas. I'm sure you'll like it!
