Not to be a downer, but Stephen Dunham, who played the father, passed away from a heart attack before the film could be released. This was the last filming he did. Super sad.

I like how she clearly told her parents about that dude recording her at night and told her mom but just to mention Robbie climbed in bed with her and her mom literally doesn't care and he's standing right there. I'd be like 'okay we need to have a talk about boundaries, respect, and consent'
Not the grandma cult coming for the sister. Hunter = Wyatt, he was adopted and Robbie was adopted by Katie too according to this movie. And remember what they said in Part 2, Hunter was the first boy their family had since 1930.
A few reasons I think as to why the coven didn't keep Hunter. They may have put Hunter up for adoption so they didn't have to put in the resources for early childhood development. Maybe also the ritual needed the child to have a sense of innocence that a being brought up in a cult wouldn't give.
Also Robbie's general personality.
The coven wants to blend in so they don't get caught.
And you can see the difference in Robbie and Hunter's behavior. the coven may have seen it as, if they raised him, he would be antisocial and distant like Robbie.
As to WHERE Robbie came from, he is most likely just a coven member's kid that was raised with cult brainwashing.
But I'm with the dad about the sleeping pills, no nonconsensual drug use.
She could've brought it up with the daughter as an option if she is having a rough night's sleeping and discuss possibly getting low-dose options from a doctor.
But secretly slipping something to someone just because you don't want to deal with them?
That's so violating.

Katie had to give hunter up to have a new identity I would assume. The police would surely be looking for her father Micha & her sister & husband & hunter missing especially if they had the footage. Robbie was just another chosen son that Katie took for the coven & to get Hunter back. Wes being gagged at the end was everything! 🤣🤣🤣

I remember watching this for the first time and all i could think about the entire time was the True Jackson VP theme 😂 cause the bf plays True's guy friend. So he'd come on screen and my head just "from my head to my toes its all real and you knooowwww fresh and cool its just what i doooooo"
I remember reading somewhere that, according to Christopher Landon, PA4 was rushed because the studio wanted them to keep releasing a PA movie every year, similar to the Saw movies.
On a sadder note, Stephen Dunham, the actor who played the father, died after PA4 finished filming. He was actually married to the actress who played the mother, Alexondra Lee.
That’s probably why the movie feels like a bit of a mess
I cant wait for you both to react to the 5th installment b/c it's so refreshing and honestly the best movie in the franchise in my personal opinion! Hopefully, you both are gonna enjoy it as well!

Great reaction as always! I Still enjoy this movie even though it's on the weaker side of the franchise, So from what i understand, and it's never confirmed so it's not spoilers, that Katie put Hunter in the adoption system, soon after she got him, so it would be harder for him to be found by police. I'll give my thought's on who robbie is when you finish the series (just make sure to watch the Alternative Ending to Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension too its on YT, as it's the better ending in my opinion) Cannot wait for the next movie reaction, which is arguably THE BEST of the whol3 franchise!! don't make me wait 3 months again plleeeaassee :P

Pretty sure Robbie was just the demon in a fake form. He picked a little boy form to make friends with Wyatt easier. But that's just speculation I've heard around.

5 & 6 explain things , they seem kind of separate but watch closely and you’ll see it all pieces together , especially in ghost dimension .

If you watch Paranormal Activity The Marked Ones that explains what's going on this the boys being picked. But Paranormal Activity The Ghost Dimension comes before the Marked Ones.

never thought of this till now and I haven't seen the entire series to know if this is cannon or not but I feel like Tobi was a miscarriage or died by accident before the sacrifice could happen by the grandma and they kept trying to have a son but ended up having 2 girls so the grandma figured she could try again when a new son was born into the family but they had 2 girls again so now Coven Grandma is fed up and is trying to resurrect the original sacrifice into the body of another child and or to let it finally have a full host so they can bring whatever they are trying to bring back. I think from the size Tobi was a real child at one point.
Also a interesting thing I just realized...where is Katie's dad and why has he not been mentioned? What happened to the OG father and grandfather?

I had the same questions like you when I first saw it, it doesn't make any sense to me. And at that point, the franchise pretty f**d up. But if you are interested in a movie besides the "main series", have a look at "Tokyo nights". It is loosley connected to the main series, but got more the vibe of the first 3 movies and some pretty creative ideas. I'm sure you'll like it!
