      addict with a harpoøn it's bad, but being honest I don't think I would try things I am almost positive would not work either. Having curly hair, you do have a grasp on stuff when you see it whether it's worth the time. I'm like that chick, even though I know she was wrong for saying anyone's time. Four minutes and going to bed. She knew taking an hour would be an hour of lost sleep. Bad.. But I would

    The African threading one wasn't done right. You need very small sections to get similar results to a blowout so she couldn't expect anything close to straight with these huge chunks of hair

  • @elizabethprosper3428

    African threading is just to stretch, is also called the banding method

  • @LaurenalexandriaTv

    • @juliaarnold1078

      @Ahlam_M5 6 лет назад +13

      Megan Miranda its kinda hard to explain it in ths way u need to see it ,but im gona try my best to explain it.
      Well ur hair should be wet thn u brush it n split it into half . take a half of ur hair n brush it behind ur ear thn u take the front section from the other half n brush it tightly on the first half n put it also behind ur ear . thn u take the last section n do the same now all ur hair is behind ur ear in one direction pin it down thn grab the hair n wrap it around ur head using a brush n pin it so it won't fall down .
      The next day u can do it without the need to wet ur hair
      I hope it wasn't confusing n excuse my eng plz

    I've straightened my curls for so long it has caused severe damage to my natural hair structure. I've finally come to accept, embrace and love my curls and my hair looks so much better, but still a little damaged. Curls are beautiful, straight hair is beautiful, why should we not embrace ourselves and accept us the way we are? We're all beautiful and besides that, inner beauty shines brighter than anything else.

      If you have a wild hair texture, and you don't find it manageable, then go for a longer hairstyle. When my hair was just past my shoulders it was impossible to manage. It had a texture like a birds nest. It took a while to get it to the middle of my back and I had to wear it up a lot, but now it's a lot sleeker.

    • @mennamofed8187
      @mennamofed8187 6 лет назад +16

      Are you aware that not only people with curly hair that straighten their hair, right? Plus she didnt say that her hair is naturally curly so stop making silly arguments. The title should've been people try straightening their hair without heat or sth

    • @iluvhoney710
      @iluvhoney710 6 лет назад +4

      Menna Mofed, No one in the video mentioned they were naturally curly, but they are. So YOU stop making silly arguments. And as I watched the video again (because I guess you can't do so yourself), her hair is curled in the ends and other parts. And again, heat damages the curl structure. But whatever, you can't stand a defeat.

    I swear some people cannot tell the difference between curly hair and wavy hair.
    Also, most of these hair-stretching methods are for black/afro textured hair that is kinky and shrinks up alot when dry. Of course these methods didnt work on the girls with loose textured waves and curls, it works best on black hair.

    The hair wrap thing works really well if you do it correctly. You have to use some product and brush it out straight and make sure its tightly wrapped around your head so it dries straight. I'm guessing the threading one needs damp hair as well. It's all about how wetness makes the hydrogen bonds in hair easier to manipulate.

    I'm a hairdresser and to do the wrap you have to put roller in the middle of the head and wrapped by seccions the last section is the roller part, then you levied for 6 hours and re-wrapped to the other side, this technique is better if someone else make it for you.
    (my English is not perfect but I try to explain it)

  • @Billybloop

    My hair is wavy. Not nice waves, but scruffy, frizzy waves. It's also bleached light blonde from a level 3 dark brown. When it was shorter I had some curls, but now it's very long which makes the texture much more manageable. If I were to flat iron it I don't think I would have hair left as I have a lot of splits. I blow dry my hair straight, after only washing it once a week. I start from underneath my hair and work my way gradually towards the front. This always works very well for me and lasts the whole week. Flat ironing makes my hair feel like wire and it makes it smell of burning.

    In Algeria there's this tradition called a "khardoon" in Arabic (idk what other countries might do this), u basically brush out all your knots, then grab the hair into a low ponytail but don't tie it, then grab a long fabric strip (belt without buckle) and wrap your hair from the top of the ponytail down to the end, my hair is super curly and it makes mine straight (not hair straightner straight but close enough)

    with the African threading, it makes a world of difference how close together the coils are. If there are parts of your hair bulging between the coils, you'll have indentations in the morning. It'll also be better if you start at the base of your hair (and more hair parts do give a better result); I normally tie those small 'ouchless' rubber bands around my parts then start threading from there. I also don't do it on wet hair, that gives me terrible results (I have 4c hair). I make sure it's completely detangled though

      I have the same hair as the girl who did the wrap method. From the moment I get out of the shower I have to strategically style it or it will look awful. Then I have to be extremely careful not to touch or let the weather mess it up. Then I have to put my hair up and sleep a certain way. I get so tired of looking at my hair and dealing with it. Sometimes straight, sleek hair is such a nice break from the chaos of my curly hair, I get tired and bored with it the same as anyone else could.

    African threads are a typical hairstyle of the North of my country (Angola) so I actually do them all the time. In fact I'm wearing them right now.
    They're not meant to make your hair straight, they're meant to make your curls longer. So for example with me instead of my hair coming out on a curly afro, it comes out looking kind of like a blow dried afro

    The African threading I’m not to familiar with, but as for the other methods they do work when done the right way. The wrap is best when you use a mouse or wrap foam to help get it as flat and slick as possible. She just needed to brush it around her head more than once and used a bristled brush.
