Thank you! It took me a while to have a good relationship with cold weather. I grew up in the South and didn’t know a northern winter. I’m so glad that I’ve embraced it over the last two decades. It sure is fun! ❄️
I can admire snow and cold from a window but now that I'm.older, I'd rather live without it. Lol the cold temps have made it one difficult week for me here so I'm over it. You're a brave lady! Happy trails!

My God, how cool is this adventure in the forest with lots of snow, I had breakfast with you and watched your excellent video, I'm from Argentina but I live in Brazil, greetings!!!
Pausing at 17:40 Green Mountains, White Mountains, Heineken in the cooler to prevent them from freezing, potatoes in foil around the fire, rotating while partying, steak on stick open flames primal yum. We scouted for and prepped flat ground, processed almost too much firewood the day before the blizzard hit. Same thing as yours but the weather changed, on top of the snow and snow-covered trees was a glaze coat of ice. Day three, sunshine blue-sky, muffled peaceful sounds and icicle dripping, falling crashing pieces sliding away on the snow’s surface.
Whoa- that’s quite a scene you’ve described. Steak on a stick sounds like something to try for sure. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the storm that came! ❄️
The old saying holds true for you; "Smoke rolls towards Beauty!" Great video Young Lady, Last weekend during the snow storm that hit Iowa I threw on my rucksack and snowshoes and headed into the woods North of this farmhouse I've been working on. In my wool pants, long underwear and shirts I stayed warm while I set up my tarps and rolled out my Big Agnes sleeping bag system. The Buffalo Park and Elk Park bags are rated to below negative 20 and I was warm all night. Waking up Sunday morning in the cave that formed with the blowing snow freezing around my tarps. I enjoyed a good bowl of Oatmeal and a steaming cup of hot chocolate and thought about camping trips with my kids back home in Montana. From Canyon Ferry to Hauser lakes the camping and hiking is tough to beat. My greatest joy Sunday morning was having a young Doe shake off the snow 15 feet away from me. My presence did not disturb her and she had to be there when I set up my little camp. Folks may think we are crazy for winter camping but they'll just never understand that no bugs and NO people make camping terrific. Cold camps with my son and hot tent camps when my daughter came along were always wonderful, except I had to be up first to relight the Yukon stove and cook breakfast. Your camp and camper looked snug and warm and I am glad you enjoyed what Mother Nature had to offer. Thank You for sharing. With Love and Respect, You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
Wow! Your winter overnight sounds magical, especially the doe!✨ There is something about waking up surrounded by snow and the silence that tickles your ears. How lovely a scene you described. And how wonderful to share those experiences with your kids! Thanks for being here and offering such a warm, delightful comment. Cheers!!
Beautiful snowy woods there! Your slide out cooking set up works great. Congrats to you for camping in such weather. Your camper is working well for you.
Fire is sign of life in winter. A hot water bottle use to warm hand , inside jacket and sleeping bag it is my tip that i use for myself . Butter and huney use in food to make warm yourself. If you make your sleep warm . You will be full energatic to next day. Funderfull adventure with tips and trichs and helpfull for others. When you make coffee and cooking ... Viewers feel to arrange same for themself . Do not be feel alone we all viewers with you and soon yours viewers will become millions. Good luck ...
Those are very kind words. Thank you! I, too, like the water bottle trick and may include that on my next adventure. Many cheers to you and happy trails!!
A great adventure for sure! I wondered if you looked at the temperature in your truck when you got up in the AM? Just curious how much of the original heat remained inside. You certainly had great winter weather for your sleep out and the snow did make it feel 'magical." I wonder if a small hand broom would help you with brushing snow, leaves or whatever away from your truck or cook ware?? One last question, how did your stove and everything do with the snow on it...did it freeze? That's it from this corner of Maine, thanks for sharing!!
Hi Jackie! You know, I know I looked at the temp when I woke up and it was either 32 or 35 degrees. It didn’t dip below 32 in the cabin that I’m aware of, which is pretty cool. You shared a great idea about the broom. It would help and, you know, I even had one in my garage but didn’t think to use it! My stove and dishes held up well. I didn’t have any trouble getting them started. Cheers!! ❄️✨🌲
@@TheWoodsyWoman AHH! Glad to hear that your cabin held the heat!! Now what is your next big adventure? HA! I have a small broom in the van, and am always glad I have it when I'm delivering a bunch of bikes, as it gets dirty at times. Have a great end of the week!

I went on a similar adventure recently where I slept in 17 degrees at a state park. Unexpected! High fives to both of us👏
🙌 Way to go! I hope you enjoyed your adventure as well!!
I had a buddy propane heater in the winter it warmed up my van really fast.
I’ve yet to try a buddy heater but I’ve heard they work well!
I once ate a very burnt tater from the foil pack and it woke me up sick to my stomach in the middle of the night lol 5:09
Oh no!! It’s a good thing I didn’t eat the burnt ones then!!

All of you that cook outside in almost any weather! I never do that. Always find a way in my vehicle!
Do you carry a set of chains for your wheels??also, do you use a small ax or hatchet??
