because I am still clumsy at love
my feelings get better as I look at you
    I find myself randomly singing
I even want to buy a single rose
The side of myself is so new
As my heart becomes closer to you
    The world become more beautiful
    If you feel my nervousness
Will you wait just a little bit?
    Forever making love
    Forever making you smile
    Filled with your bright smile
    Forever making love
    Forever making you smile
    Now hold my hands

Because I am still clumsy at love
The more I get to know you, my heart quivers
All I can do is smile
Shall I try to kiss you?
Will it get me a little closer to your heart?
    Could this feeling be love
    Im still shy
I haven’t even taken a single step to you
So please wait for my love
    together making love
    Forever making you smile
    Filled with your bright smile
    Together making love
    forever making you smile
I will slowly heat towards you step by step
    Stand by me
    Look at me
Somehow, I want to be closer to you
    Stand by me
    Guard over me
I want to seem a bit cooler to you
    I don’t know at first
    How to begin to love
I still don’t know my heart
    But I love you
    together making love
    Forever making you smile
    Filled with your bright smile
    Together making love
    forever making you smile
    now hold my hands
    Stand by me
    Look towards me
Even though I don’t know love yet
Stand by me guard over me
Because I am still clumsy at love

The Tomorrowverse started with a lot of promise but they rushed it. There was never enough time to build the world and develop the stories. And doing Crisis on Infinite Earths so soon just seems like the writers wanting to wrap things up and give some kind of conclusion because they know the studio isn't going to support them for much longer. And considering how more than half of WB's animation department has been cut, we might be close to the end of these types of projects.

    • @Thaltas
      @Thaltas 26 дней назад +39

Think this also happened because of James Gunn's plan of most animated movies being part of his new universe, forcing the Tomorrowverse to wrap things up..

@@Thaltasnot necessarily, James Gunn has a lot of power in DC, but the Studio is still the ones who make the cuts. Animated movies are expensive, so cutting out animation that isn’t needed for their “DC Universe” would save them a lot of money. I just wouldn’t blame James Gunn for this just because he’s “head of DC studios”

Honestly I actually really liked Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 2 and I actually didnt expect how much I had a good time with it. I personally enjoyed Kara and Monitors character arcs and how the two have an almost father and daughter relationship and actually made Monitor an interesting character, at least to me. I also kinda liked Pyscho Pirate and how much of a twisted person he is and how his actions tie into previous Tomorrow-Verse movies which I actually appreciated and makes the universe feel a bit more cohesive looking back on it, and I also like how his powers tie into Kara's feeling of distrust and grief. Granted yes this movie isn't perfect and you do make good points about these movies and their pacing and how certain subplots never interested me like Batman and his relationship with the interdimensional Batfamily, Wonder Woman trying to save her mother from another universe, the anti climactic way John Stewart sacrifices his ring and therefore his powers etc... Then again truth be told Im honestly interested to see how Part 3 ends

I'm glad to finally see someone else who actually liked this movie. Hell if I'm being honest I actually think I like these movies more than the original as it made Psycho Pirate's inclusion in the first part make more sense; seeing as he was immediately recruited by the Anti-Monitor in the original before he did anything for the good guys, and in this he actually played a part in helping before being tempted. And on that note I actually think he was serious about helping when he asked the Monitor for more power because he was very clear that he understood if all worlds died he'd be doomed as well, and only joined Anti-Monitor latter when an actual choice was given to him.

  • @hobbes6392

Most people have never read Crisis and assume it’s like an action book when it is in fact barely a character piece and is just a mechanism to artificially clean up a time line.
So if this movie made the smart choice to actually do character work exploring the themes of nihilism and empathy when facing overwhelming disaster by using continuity as a mechanic and is ultimately a clumsy story, then it is a perfect Crisis adaptation

    • @vullord666
      @vullord666 23 дня назад

I think the real problem here is that Crisis on Infinite Earth's really doesn't work outside comics in that particular moment in time. Any adaption is going to have to make major to come out with something general audiences (even just DC fans who don't read comics) can enjoy. It's already significantly worse solely by the fact it's not just well known IRL now but we have a crisis event so often these days. Heck, everything has been doing multiverse team IPs recently. The idea of all DC multiverses coming together lost a lot of appeal and shock value, and there's like none of the ground shaking consequences. Like how do you make people care that all multiverses got killed off? That Golden Age WW died and main universe Supergirl died? Crisis is more well known for what it did and what it meant at DC comics. How do you even adapt that properly?

    • @DavidMartinez-ce3lp
      @DavidMartinez-ce3lp 23 дня назад +2

@vullord666 I actually think they could've used the crisis to pay homage to their previous animated shows/movies. Bringing them together and letting them interact while trying to save the multiverse. Imagine Batman: Brave and the Bold intetacting with Batman from Btman TAS. Would've been fun and epic. Then ultimately leaving one universe standing, the DCU.

list of things that I at least think could for all means and purposes help the story
    1) rather than speding too much time with Karra and Monitor man, they could have chosen to make our batman (who has no bat family) interact a bit by listening in the rest of the bat family, where each robin, batgirl, nightwing etc, talk a bit about their batman and how he brought them up, so
    Examples:
Nightwing: Batman talked to me after I lost my family on the circus, he understood what I went through and knew I would need someone just how he had alfred
Damien: talks about how he has been a good father and how it helped him change from killing-ish
Batman Beyond: could have talked about how he helped him make a difference in his old age as well make a reference to the Justice League episode of when Amanda Waller tells him he is a clone of Batman (and would give him more lines)
    ETC
which helps this Batman see how much he can actualy do as to impact people and his would be family would he make it in his own Earth
    2) we could have had the classic Diana meets her man's falling from the plane, while spending time with the Amazons from the Amazon world, and talk about how men are not all so pathetic nor evil, I guess
    3) if they realy wanted to do Kamandi they needed professor Kanus next to him, so then it make more sense as realisticaly Kamandi is not the smartest he's the fighter, which could have done better in their fight, and maybe Solovar wouldn't have died and could have talked about the fact not ALL gorillas hate humans
    4) Green lantern shenanigans, minor spoiler(Aya is shown in the trailer for Part 3) so they could have laid the groundwork to work with the story from Green lanter the animated series, since in recent times they have connected that story, so we could have used a bit of the GLs like Killowog, Guy, and start including the other colors, like Razer(and as a bonus Razer after young justice Season 4) so he had his blue and red rings, as well as a forcedteam up with the other colors, like the Star Saphires, from the only orange lanter Larfleeze(he could have also joined with psycho pirate the Anti monitor), from the blue lanters the one and only Saint Walker, and I guess Warth too
    5) there was a lack of more time travelers as well as dimention travelers, which could have helped as to be both funny and serious, like having classics such as Booster Gold, Rip hunter for time travelers, and dimention travelers could have had Bat mite and Mister Mxyzptlk, since they realize even their dimentional powers will be needed

I forgot this was already a thing, and when I saw this video notification I had to rush to watch it
I liked it, yeah, it's not a fight driven story, but we have to acknowledge that not every superhero story needs to be about someone hitting someone else.
This is, as you said, a connection, it's filling the holes and answering the questions you might have in part 3.
But it's more than that, it has its values not just as a middle point, but as lenses into the minds of the characters, what made them happy or angry, fear, cheer.
It's the story of the importance of emotion, and as emotion is the power of psycho pirate, he's got a pivotal role using and boosting those emotions while Kara taught Mar Novu to feel and care.
We see that it's truly emotion and not logic that drives the amazon to not free the men to fight, even if it would tip the scales
We see how Kamandi learns to trust someone who he would otherwise fear and hate, someone who, in the end, gave his life for him
We see how Mar Novu regrets not caring before
We see how the bat family yearns for a batman that does not recognize nor trust them

The first time the Tomorrowverse felt jarring to me was in Green Lantern: Beware My Power. Skipping the formation of the Justice League was so strange to me, let alone foregoing Hal Jordan's story to skip ahead to a very loose adaptation of Emerald Twilight.
Then, in the Legion of Superheroes movie, when it was revealed that Superman and Flash's seemingly inconsequential fight with Braniac is actually a pretty significant plot point to the overarching story of the Tomorrowverse, I started feeling like the writers actually are trying to do something and not just making weird decisions on the fly again and again.
And then, I learned that the whole Tomorrowverse is actually built right from the beginning with the intention of culminating into an adaptation of Crisis of Infinite Earths. That means that every time they crafted the plots of each movie, they most probably also considered how certain plot points will fit into the story they want to tell in the COIE trilogy.
While I understand the negative reception of the COIE movies so far, and I do agree with the complaints to some degree, I can't help but still appreciate COIE for what it is. At the end of the day, it might bore the audience with how contrived everything is. But it takes a lot of effort to actually craft a non-linear story this complicated.

Well, the title for this video is apt because it was my reaction to finding out the Tomorrowverse even existed, much less that they briefly brought back Terry. Huh.

I couldn’t even finish it. A common theme with the tomorrowverse imo is a huge aspiration to be experimental in how they approach stories, but not enough formalism to make these experiments worth watching .
What they need is someone to walk into their writers room and trash all the disparate plot elements that they think are cool and have nothing to do with narrative structure, and just focus on creating well put together stories before they start tryna do “cool” stuff.

I just feel sad for the TomorrowVerse
They’re trying, there’s so much they want to do, but they don’t have the runtime to develop these stories and characters, and practically no one know they exist

I’m enjoying this iteration. I mean there have been several remixes of DC Crisis. Each one does something a little differently and each has their charm. If one is willing to just accept it as presented. Personally, I like that I don’t have to slog through a ton of remixes of Batman stories that have been done to death. Same with Supes and all the rest.

My take is that while the source material is great, these tomorrowverse films - I mean the crisis series - have no gravitas. They rush through stuff that i can't care about the characters or their motivations and as such the prospect do not seem to have the levity they want it to, so it just feels bleh

My hot take for a while now has been that Crisis on Infinite Earths is, if not the worst DC crisis, then at the very least one of the bad ones. It's 12 issues of characters you barely know, since quite a lot of them have been left behind in the 40 years since (who the fuck is Dawnstar), fighting the Anti-Monitor. A bunch of people die pretty much purely for shock value, and then the whole Multiverse is killed off because DC bought some new toys. You compare that to the insanity that is Metal and Death Metal, or the fucking MASTERPIECE that Final Crisis is, and you might get why I'm disappointed every time the say "Hey guys, we're doing Crisis on Infinite Earths again, this time we'll do it right"
And yes, I do think Zero Hour and Convergence are better, because Zero Hour has Parallax Hal Jordan and Convergence has Parallax Hal Jordan
