- In this video I am going to backflush my Lelit Mara X coffee machine, to clean it, using Cafiza or Puly Caff. It is an e61 coffee machine. It is a step by step video explaining everything.

What version of MaraX do you have here ? I have v2 and my machine does not discharge water from the tube like yours does and instead it does it from behind directly into the drip tray.
I have the V2 too . Mine also discharged water from behind, but I don’t know why nor when it does it. The one under the group head is the solenoid valve if I don’t mistaken. And it discharges water when I finish my shot in oder to prevent the portafilter to sneeze/ explode when taking it off the group head.
I really don’t know why yours doesn’t do it. Maybe google it or search it on forums or call the shop where you bought it from, or any service for espresso machines.
I haven’t done anything about it because the machine seems to be working fine and I do get a dry puck right after my shot is done so the solenoid valve is working perfectly. Anyway I was just curious but I did see a video from a dealer that sells Lelit here in the States and the guy explained how the opv was redirected to the drip tray.

I think it is very aggressive to clean with that every 2 weeks
And what would you recommend ? How often ? And which other product ?
@@MuglifeMystery I don't know, I have the same question. I just bought this model and I don't know which would be the best option to clean it. I'll look in the forums.
Personally this is what I found, but it may be wrong. I will investigate further and if you also find something new, please keep me updated too. And thanks for the question.
I backflush once a month with detergent and every day after done using with water alone no detergent. By Doing this I keep it clean enough that I don’t need to use chemicals too often which it causes the internal lubricants to wear off. I make about 20 coffees per week so you can tweak accordingly depending on your usage.
@@CarlosVargas-js8qz thank you very much for the information! 🙏
