How TF are these 22 year olds affording cosmetic procedures? When I was 22 I couldn’t afford bread.
I’m 26 and I can’t afford bread lol
OF
I always wondered that about tattoos
hahahhaa Facts!!!
They're the wealthy people that we don't get to see or hang out with, mainly because we're busy surviving. Different world altogether.
You’re also mainly talking about, like, influencers and wannabe influencers, which is something that I’m not seeing transparency on. Like, that’s really not the bulk of Gen Z. Y’all are mostly commenting on people you see online. But I’m 26, so I’m about as old as Gen Z gets, and I have not met a single person in my real life with this problem. The only person in my demographic who even has had Botox is my high school friend whose wealthy and out-of-touch mother forced them to get it. The average Gen Z person can’t afford these, isn’t doing this, and looks exceptionally normal. I will say that stress is definitely fucking aging us though.
I'm in the UK and a lot of gen z here have fillers tbh. Not many millenials like me though. I know one person from high school with it but she has a rich husband I think.
Hmmm....well its certainly not the case that its only influencers.
@@stephtastropheI'm gen z from the UK and I don't know a single person who's done it.
@@eloracampbell2087 well considering the amount I see with it, I'm not sure how. Even in poor areas I see tons of 20 something gen z girls with it. Maybe your friends etc are just more secure in themselves then which is good.
I’m 24 and don’t know anyone personally in my life at my age with fillers and Botox in the US. Majority of people around me at my age don’t have that kind of money
I’m 37 and I look like I’m 37. It’s ok to look your age. We will all be wrinkly some day, it’s not a contest.
I agree
All of this obsession over appearances is what’s truly detrimental
I just turned 38 last week, never had any sort of cosmetic procedure, and have only looked my age for the last 3-4 years, before that everyone thought I was a teenager (which always embarrassed me more than anything, it felt like too young of a mistake to feel “flattering”) but the jump from looking 17 to looking in my mid-thirties was a harsh reality, but it’s humbled me.
I also saw some beautiful images recently of an artists rendition of characters in old age and their skin was all wrinkled and slightly loose and it was so incredibly beautiful, it made me excited to age like that. Don’t get me wrong, I get the appeal of cosmetic procedures and wanting to look as perfect as possible, but I’m kinda thankful I was too broke to get anything done when I was younger and more insecure, I have found that age has made me care less about my appearance and I think that’s pretty lucky because I know that’s not necessarily the case for everyone.
I also have this philosophy - I embrace my gray hair (although, it helps that I just like it, it's coming in right at my temples, and looks cool) and my fine lines.
I'm 41, I'm allowed to look 41. 🤷🏻♀️
I started botox at 20 for medical reasons (blepharospasms). When I tell my friends I get it partially covered by health insurance, they call me so lucky. I wish I didn't need Botox, but if I didn't get it, my eyes would constantly be in a blinking state that is extremely physically and mentally painful. Botox is a medical procedure with side effects and should be treated as such, not a quick beauty treatment that only has good effects.
As a 30 year old millennial, I stopped wearing heavy makeup in my early-mid twenties and started to focus more on skin health/care. I also wear sunscreen every day and stay as hydrated as possible. I think those factors made a big difference with how my skin looks today.
Heavy makeup makes everyone look older!
Same on the makeup and sunscreen! Though my reason for giving up makeup was it was taking too much time that I could be spending getting an extra 20 minutes sleep. I only wear makeup on occasion now. And I'm diligent with sunscreen because I'm so fair skinned lol
Also ✨️stress✨️ ages a lot of people very quickly
I was going to say this! And poor diet.
yeah, 30-40 gave up and we're chilling now. gen z still stressing and having hope
Poor Gen Z, we need to do better for the upcoming generations
stress and abuse makes ppl look drained and ill, because they are being drained and abused, constantly!!
@blah914 gave up ?😂 i am still at the uni😂 i will work maybe till 70s like we all do sadly
Life is not social media go outside i beg you
Honestly, you shouldn't be allowed to have filler, botox or implants ( unless its to help a deformity or injury that you've had ) until you're like 30.
Exactly, I'm like why are they getting fillers at 21
@@Zorian14 i know girls that have been getting Botox since they were 19! It's insane
Why ? How does it affect you ?
It's their choice if they want to spend money to look older
You shouldn’t be allowed to tell anyone what they shouldn’t be allowed to do. Crazy
The woman in this video is 30 and neither her eyebrows nor her forehead move. They're just glued on to her face.
So as a millennial who is 35, people say I look 28/29. And I am OK with that. I rarely wear make-up, and I have never even for once considered botox, fillers, face-lift. And I am 100% sure its because in my youth I wasn't bombarded with the rubbish of Tick Tock, Influencers and all that shebang. We are generally just too mopey, broke and empathetic, whilst trying to live our own lives 😂
We drank from the fountain of youth, side effect includes forgetting where it is. Also, anime.
Anime? Speak for yourself. I don't watch cartoons.
As a millennial i know one smoker in my age group, most Gen z i know smoke.
As a gen z no one smokes in my friend groups and my sister's friend do so ig i doesn't really mean anything
I thought they all vape!😂
It’s the vapes 😂
I am a chainsmoker yet I look like 20😂
Gen z vapes, gen x is on their 5th time quitting smoking 🎉 & millennials are in the middle.
It's stress. Next question.
I am 49 (Gen X) and I look 30. Here a re a few reasons:
We were the first gen that got good suncreen, and we came just before the tanning craze.
We were the prudish generation. Our sex, drugs, and rock and roll parents actually complained that we werent into the first two like they were. We didnt drink much, either.
Edit: Almost forgot: We just werent that into makeup. Makeup ages you. I still cant do a cats eye.
47 Year old Gen X here. Never wore sunscreen or make-up. And we used to use baby oil to tan back in the day but it also depends on your genes for most part. I can say I come from good genes as I get mistaken for being in my later twenties, early thirties most of the time. I too cannot do a cat's eye or any contouring to save my life. lmao.
I’m also Gen X but definitely don’t look 30. The highest sunscreen SPF available when I was a kid was 6, a total joke, and everyone wanted to be super dark tan. Most girls wore TONS of makeup (electric blue eyeliner, anyone?) and crazy hairspray, and ate junk food since we were latchkey kids left to our own devices. Oh and we started smoking and drinking and partying young too. Not sure where you’re from but sounds very different from where I was. Most other Gen X I know look their age, maybe a little younger but definitely not 20 years younger. Sounds like you have good genetics.
The filler never goes. My lips still have all the filler. My Dr will not put in anymore and my 54 yr old lips are not big she just said theres no more room left to fill. What a good dr. ❤
I have to show my ID everywhere, otherwise no one believes how old I am. The problem is, at work no one takes you seriously and everyone thinks you are an intern😂. But , I'm definitely happy because of the good genes from my mom. 😺😺😺
25 year olds and even younger nowadays feel the need to get baby botox. Basically no millenial had even thought of doing that when they were that young. Its a social media effect imo as an younger millenial
We don't put 💩 in our faces ❤
Let us all age gracefully, ❤
If you think about it,
It’s most likely several factors.
Environmental factors like air quality, vaping, fillers, excessive drinking, staying up late, ignoring allergies, not wearing sunscreen, food choices and not taking vitamins.
Also taking off your makeup before you sleep is really important.
These are just things that I have noticed as a gen z.
I am 32 years old and If I do not put my Makeup on , nobody want to sale me beer 😂😂😂
🤣 I bought myself fake glasses in my 20s to look more mature when I did negotiations with other companies. 🤣
And few months after my 30th birthday when I felt old one guy asked me for ID and I asked him is he asking for real or to make me happy, and he said it was for real and since then I feel young
I'm 34 and never wear makeup and I recently got carded when I bought my aunt a vape.
I agree I'm 32 my face didn't change from when i was 20 lol
How is men who don't do any beauty treatments look older. Met one that was my tennis instructor who I thought was 45 years with 3 kids but he was 24.
nobody says it but they are the ones that look older
I’m 24 and grew up in poverty. I don’t have the money for good skin products and have been stressed my entire life. I also live in a very sunny place and very unfortunately have a sun allergy. Not matter how much sunblock I put on I still burn. I know I’m going to look like shit soon but honestly it’s the least of my problems
May God bless you with ease & blessings
If it makes you feel better, simple skincare is much better for you than a lot of the expensive stuff which can cause irritation leading to acne and wrinkles overtime. I use jojoba oil as makeup remover/moisturizer and oat flour as cleanser, and my skin has never been better. You can always wear a hat for the sun which works better than sunscreen. :)
Cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen & a hat due to sun allergy. The easiest routine is the best & a little product goes a long way.
Poverty and lack of skincare is not a factor of aging. I am example of it. 32 look 24 based on few people commenting and IDing in stores. Grew up dirt poor, didn't use skincare till mid20s. What made difference is genetics, little to no makeup use,no smoking at all, drinks in moderation, mostly cooking at home.
its probably because you don't reapply the suncreen. you have to reapply it every 2 hours or so. Im a ginger and i don't burn if i wear sunscreen, but I did a job where I had to be outside all day and I couldn't reapply it as often as I wanted so I ended up burning sometimes.
That buckle fat trend probably isn’t helping things either
Exactly.
Agreed! & Experience matters
32f, recently shaved most of my hair off. Got ID'd in B&Q for WD40. Didn't have ID, got refused. I'm ginger and pale enough to warrant a toe tag. Baffled at this achievement with the amount I burnt in my teens/early 20's. Moral of the story, shave your hair and you too might pass for a 15 year old boy. 🙄
yes im the same age f, ginger- when i was 30 a lady thought i was 14
Sometimes even applying makeup can make you look older. In my case, people tell me that I look like a teenager when my face is clean (but I'm already in my 20's), just adding eyeliner and eyeshadow makes me look more like my current age.
Its because Millenials just like gen x had & still remember Toys R Us & we'll always be Toys R Us kids
The biggest question is: how many surgeons and derms refuse them these services and say to their face "this is will be more harmful than beneficial for you now and long-term?"
All they see from Gen Z clients are dollar signs lol
I can tell you, internet came around when i was 16, since then havent seen the sunlight until I was around mid 30, took 15 years off my skin
Me, being a gen z and looking 15 at 21: Am I a joke to you?
I'm 42 and always get compliments that I look around 27 y/o. I've NEVER had botox, lip filler...NOTHING. I think I'll keep it that way :)
we gave up 😂 and gen z still stressing and having hope
What about vaping, constant blue light exposure, existential stress, environmental toxins & no hope for the future?
First of all, I love your eyes Dr. A; secondly, that's a pretty solid take on this phenomenon. Consumerism is doing our kids dirty.
In regards to the video u stitched: Sorry but every gen z I’ve seen online literally looks their age … a lot of the ppl they’re talking about (celebs) seem to actually be millennials ….. mellenials aren’t looking 20 at 40 be so for reslll😭
Lol the delusion i real. 100% agree
lol, right? Who in Gen Z can afford all these procedures?
@@val6189 literally!!! like the kids in the 90's/early 2000's looked older at those times to me. but that aside its cringe when ppl try to say ppl who clearly look 30-40 look 20.
I'm a millenial, and let me tell you something, almost all people in all generations look their arge, some people get better looks becasue of genetics and other factors, and gen z is not the excpetion. I have been told that a I look a couple of years younger, but I mean, I know I don't look like I am in my early 20s, it's just that a lot of people forgot what they look like because they don't seem much, because is not in their social circle anymore or look in the tv or videos, wich are not the most common or the norm. TLDR gen z look like their age.
If you're in your 20s and you write like that I think you have bigger issues to focus on.
Being allowed to live your childhood and early adulthood and stay in touch with your inner child makes a big difference.
Those of us who grew up without addiction to electronic devices were allowed to develop more naturally.
Maybe the frequencies from devices and the burden of information overload is aging the younger generations.
I got a better skin and body after 35 (43 now) mostly because I started to love me more. And with it I started to stick to doing things that I would like to see in myself. I drink less now, eat less sugar, do therapy to care less about others expectations, spend way less with Starbucks and makeup and more with Dove, moisturizer, hair care and sunscreen. But I strongly believe way to keep the young look it is to avoid extremes. Do no do anything too much. Even too much beaty treatments will make a healthy person look old and odd. Use a simple moisturizer everyday after shower and sunscreen on face, neck and hands this is simple but will give you a lot of benefits already.
I'm 21 and I spent extra money on tattoos, not injections. I look like i'm still in high school. My fellow zillenials, you don't need filler and you ESPECIALLY do not need botox
I don't wear foundation every single day either, only for special events
at 21 you're definitely not a zillennial, just a straight up gen z
@@katr_i_na okay, valid. I grew up a certain way and with certain technologies, which may be why I identify less with younger Gen Z.
I feel like 1993, 1995 to 2003, 2005 people, the younger millenials and elder Gen Zs, are kind of their own weird thing
Technically Gen Z is late 90s like '97 all the way to 2012. I do not feel like the same generation as my 12 year old sister (2011 baby). I am a much more similar person to my younger millenial cousin and brother and even my older millenial stepmother than the Z/alpha cusp or young Gen Zs
Nothing wrong with any of these generations but I don't have much in common with middle school children
@@anerdygoldenagesoprano oh of course - not everyone 100% identifies with the generation they're in, but it's a generalisation of an overall shared upbringing, mindset, society, etc. of the time. i'm late 1995, but have little in common with most older millennials born 10+ years before me - we both used myspace, for example, but them as an adult and me as a 12 year old lol, which is a shared experience but in a very different way that will have affected us and shaped us both differently. i also have less in common with people born in 2003 than in 1998 or 1999, for example (again, as an overall generation) - most people born in the 2000s grew up from an even younger age with social media, tablets/smartphones, etc., which will naturally shape their personalities, beliefs and experience differently to people more my age (zillennials) who still got social media at a younger age than most millennials, but not as young and as early in our developmental process as gen z.
@@katr_i_na understandable and a matter of opinion, I guess. I have friends in their late 20s who consider themselves in the same generation as me despite technically being millenials themselves.
I grew up in a non stereotypical way for my age and i'm on the spectrum. That likely affects my self image. I relate to a lot of what people say who are generally older than me about drinking out of garden hoses, watching VHS tapes, etc but my technical generation designation is Z
I'd still lump like 93 to 03 as the weird generation
I played flash type games on clunky desktops and early Minecraft on early iPad as a tween, but wasn't an "iPad kid". There's a lot of different unique experiences between 93 to 03 or so, but I feel like there is a shared conciousness re: what we saw change :)
I didn't use myspace and walkmans/diskmans, and we had CD/DVD players as I became an older child over a VCR, but I knew what these things were and how to use them even if I myself instead had an iPod nano for my music and not an mp3 player
Millennials are 1981-1996
When I was 20 I was n school full time and had a full time job and I couldn’t afford gas to go to and from! Who is paying for all this stuff!?
Millennial here in my early 30s. We have to stop perpetuating this delusion. We don’t look younger. We look exactly our age. We just don’t look like the older generations who aged prematurely due to bad habits and sun abuse. 30 is not old, but it’s not a teenager anymore, and I don’t want to look like a teenager. And those of you who smoke and drink and say you still look young? Thank your lucky genetics for resisting that damage, but it will catch up with you. Whatever age you will be when your genetics can’t keep up with your damage, that’s when premature aging will catch up with you hard. Just remember, we’re in our 30s-40s now. We’ve still got 40 to 60 years of life left. Premature aging is not just about looks, it’s about how well you’re taking care of your insides. We grew up watching illnesses hit our elders due to their bad habits. Ask your self how many decades you want to suffer from illnesses due to your own choices. Thankfully, most of my Millennial peers got on the health bandwagon.
I’m also speaking to you Gen Z who I see vaping everywhere. Don’t make the same mistake as my smoking and drinking Millennial peers and the generations before us. There’s a reason the majority of Millennials looked at our ailing elders and said, “That won’t be me. I’ll do better than they did.”
I know the world looks bleak right now, but I promise you that bad health will make your situation a hundred times worse. If you think you’re miserable now, it will get so much worse. So find a new coping mechanism to deal with your stress. The economy is only going to get worse.
I’m a 24 year old woman who looks 17 still and I have never wanted Botox or anything like it so I don’t understand the hype, but I’m also not on TikTok and have never had an account so maybe I’m just doing myself a favor. But I have never given a damn about being or looking trendy so I don’t understand other women my age being all over this 😖
As a millennial: I try to drink a lot of water, I don't go out into the sun very often. I do not wear a lot of makeup and when I do go out in the sun I like to put on suntan lotion no matter if it's hot or not because the sun is still a deadly laser regardless if it's cold outside 😁
It’s not just this - the gen z men can look older than they are too. I think it’s pollution and diet. Excessive fillers etc definitely don’t help either of course.
I'm nearly 32no wrinkles. Ill never get botox or filler. Thats like putting a bandaid on a gaping wound. Collagen banking is way better 🎉
They’ve also been smearing chemicals on their faces since the age of 10. I mean - safe - totally safe - cosmetics
I'm stressed out a lot and chronically ill. That's why I look older than I am.
I'm 25 and got forehead creases :/
ain't paying to stick needles of who knows what in my face, only using basic sunscreen & moisturizer
So your reasoning is men in their 20s are having fillers and botox… ok then
You're so right, I was about to write this comment 😂
Idk I’ve been getting forehead Botox, started at 22. I’m now 31. People don’t think I’m much past 24. It’s genetics too.
✨stress✨
Also, the nature seeks balance. If some group looks younger then some other needs to look older... 😂
I'm a freaking 29 year old woman, and I got to a makeup store where they do make up on customers. Apparently they do it when a customer is pass a certain age. And the lady who would do the makeup asked me how old I am 🤦
Okay is the average Gen Z getting fillers? I don't think so. People say "We can't afford anything now!" but some how have enough money to constantly get injections
A lot of Gen Z girls wear a TON of makeup which will make anyone look older. Millennials usually go for a more natural look.
Uhhh not really all the old makeup gurus from 2015-2016 on RUclips were millennials caking on makeup not Gen z
I blame those lovely E numbers we were raised on in the 80s and early 90s preserving us unnaturally.
Well thank god you are not a researcher because I have yet to see any of them make these idiotic claims. For a generation that consists of 12-27 year olds no one should actually take these claims seriously. I really recommend some of you find a better dermatologist because no decent one would make these asinine unscientific claims based off tiktok phenomenons.
But not everybody has filler/Botox and still look old so can she explain that too? I think it’s stress and blue light.😭
I don't know anyone who has had injectables but we are all incredibly stressed. Gen Z were the first to grow up with algorithmic social media and whether that means we struggled with body image or always being aware of the atrocities not just in our own country but across the world, we're now adults in a climate emergency, the government declared a housing emergency, child poverty rates are at a third and predicted to rise to half by around 2027 and the rise of the far right is being compared to pre-WWII Europe. But yeah, I'm sure it's the fillers and nothing like the collective trauma of covid...
Everyone experienced covid not just Gen z, every generation has had a body shaming thing it just wasn't on a screen & the climate stuff, same, people are still starving & homeless.
Stop thinking how old you are😂 just live. This is stress too...who cares
this is the first Im hearing of anyone in my generation being able to afford botox but go off
Sunscreen. Millenials use a lot of sunscreen. And the face augmentation didn't kick off for us like it has for younger folks. And... We been strugglin'! Ain't nobody got time for filler when you don't have money to live 😂
Gen z know makeup, face operation younger than millenial know makeup/heavy skincare when high school or college
Thats true look at Kylie Jenner and all the women whove gotten their face like hers.. They all look middle aged women with a couple of kids
Im in my mid 30s & I think yall be overhyping how yall look. I think people in their 20s look their age.
Im a millennial, and I wear makeup like once a year, so that probably helps
It’s usually the ones that smoke, do drugs or get cosmetic procedures those things age everyone though
So many are overweight and look 50. They have the figures of old ladies.
I've seen women in their 20s with no cosmetic procedures look older. I think there's something in the water 😂
I agree. I am nearly 40 and always gey told I look late, 20s
Yeah these 18 years look rough too 👀. I’m in my 30s and still get carded. Stop all these procedures and over use of cosmetics. Keep it simple and cook home meals.
You legally have to get carded, it's not because you look so young
I think filler should only be done if you’re getting it to fix an insecurity
My sisters friend is like mid 20s and she got fillers. She looks like she belongs on the set of "real house wives..."
Food has gotten worse and they had way more vaccines
Milennials can't handle they're aging and are jealous of gen z. Also the dermatologist in her 30's looks like she's in her late 40's
Okay zoomer 😂
global warming
Can someone please find the madeline white video link?
First, it threw me off when Doc used Madeline instead of Maddie lol but I think she's referring to Maddie's recent plastic surgery video. Toward the end she mentions why she didn't get filler instead
Thanks beautiful! @Sandyyyyyyyyyy
Because this younger generation gets way to much filler
Old you is ? You are .. good get your sentence right
Well even if you mind i am gonna say it , there is something called humour you dont always have to be so logical you literally just ruined the whole vibe 🙄
Why are you doing it for them then?
N I C O T I N E
The previous generation smoked too doesn't work
*than
I’m 40 and look 25, routinely men in their 20s hit on me. I wear little makeup, I’ve worn facial sunscreen for 20 years, good skincare routine, no Botox, etc, good diet. Gen Z might be spending too much time in front of their screens God knows what it does to the skin
Vaping
I' m 50 and I work surrounded of genZennials. The ones who haven' t go for fillers, botox or the full _Cloned Bratz_ + Jim Carrey in The Mask veneers pack have *THE BEST SKIN IN HUMAN HISTORY* ✨. Their access to reliable sources here, to board certified derms, topical treatments and medication if needed before it' s too late, the fact that they use sunscreen daily by default🥹. Not to talk about their make up skills🙌🏼... Ah, my kidZ! They also teach me their own language, isn' t it sweet?🖤
You have a lot of filler.
Too much make up...
They're also a weird generation. let them look old
Well a generation obviously smarter than you because they don’t take these unscientific claims seriously. Quite smoking that narcissism pack and actually look at kids in real life instead of tiktok.
@@mitsurismp3926 none of what you said never made sense its full of poor grammar and no they are not smarter and this is a generation that prostitute themselves thinking they live a "high life" and are all in therapy and are going basically back wards with the way they want to live 🤣 and I'm guessing you're the same 🤢🤮
@@mitsurismp3926 Lolll😂 that was good
It's not all us. Obviously, I don't even wear make-up. But it is a trend in our generation and mostly in Easter and Western countries.
@@mariamejawara can you provide a source or longitudinal study on these claims. Seeing as the generation you are making claims about is around the age of 12-27. Really fucking stupid.
Im 29 and I got carded for my cigarettes yesterday because the woman who was younger than me thought I was a 16 year old and threatened me with the cops if I was lying.
Once she saw my ID she panicked, apologized, and and just stared at me while we finished the transaction.
All the while my 13 year old daughter was laughing while getting a cup of coffee.
Yes!!!! Idk why this generation WANTS to look older. Wait til they hit their 30s😬
Actually, a small amount of botox in your mid twenties is ok and looks natural
