"A Tribute to one of the underrated (IMO) actors to play James Bond". I agree. He's one of my favorite Bond actors. -- Thank you for creating this video.
What's been missing from Bond lately is the feeling that Bond is a Secret Agent. OHMSS reflects the classy spy genre that made the Bond films the success that they are. It's that factor (and many others including fantastic stunts, witty escapes, beautiful women/cars/locales, and Bond's own charm) that make the "classic" Bond films so worthy of repeat viewings. I can't imagine re-watching Craig's Bond films again without letting a few years go by between viewings. Not so with the classics.
This is my favourite James Bond movie. George Lazenby seems believable as the superhero because I think he is a tough guy in real life. Diana Rigg was also good. The `Ski Chase` is my favourite action scene in the movies.
corey washington He should play a different role in SPECTRE (Bond 24). Maybe as a retired MI6 agent who has connections with SPECTRE. Just so George Lazenby can at least be in another bond movie. He may not have gotten the dream he wanted by playing the character, but at least its for people to remember that he was Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret service.
+MythicMage normally i wouldnt agree to such ideas put bond actors in different roles, i didnt liked it with charles grey and also joe don baker (wich roles i liked both) was kinda strange seeing as villain and as alley in goldeneye later on, the three appereances of maud adams are excusable, first she is made for Moore`s Bond and second its the 70s. I hated the Idea bringing Connery back in Die Another Day as Agent and i hated the Idea bringing Connery back in Skyfall as Kincade. But this Sir, this Idea with Lazenby could work and he would have a official tribute by the producers and for the fans. Would be great and he deserves a lot more, than he gets. Sry my bad english, i am from switzerland..
+corey washington I think that story about Lazenby's Mgr. telling him to quit Bond was BS. Lazenby said He wanted to be Bond very bad to even lie about acting . Broccoli + Saltzman found a clause in Connery's contract to return or be sued for millions . So they paid off His contract as long as He stayed hush , but does make sense .
OHMSS was the best Bond film and it was without a doubt, Lazenby's picture. No one could have played it and made me believe it more. Connery's cold-blooded Bond would have ruined it. It's just too bad we didn't have more Lazenby. Dalton's my favourite but Lazenby was WAY better than people give him credit for. When he's in the office with M, he looks pissed, and I totally believe him and Diana Rigg together. Those two and dalton and D'Abo (Living daylights) are my favourite couples. Hooray for George Lazenby
Pros for Lazenby's Bond: Best hand to hand fights (George wasn't a karate expert and Bruce Lee's friend for nothing) Best bond girl (Even Craig's Vesper isn't that great when compared to Tracy) Best interpretation of Bond (cool and charming but down to earth and emotional despite apparent stoicism) Best tone (both over the top and subdued when appropriate) Best cinematography for its time Best twist ending One of the first movie reboots and done right Actually faithful to the source material Cons: Erm... Lazenby is not Connery. Even though Connery sucked in the next film, it's still a con somehow.
+Uncle Joe I would go so far as to say that Connery couldn't have played the Bond role in this film, especially the final scene (and the earlier one where Bond is rescued by Tracy). His version of Bond was never vulnerable.
Connery was campy and badass. Lazenby was subdued and dramatic while *also* being badass. I enjoyed both, but Lazenby's Bond was more entertaining in that he was and upgrade of the Bond formula. Unfortunately, him leaving the franchise set it back a lot. I would have liked him n the sequels done in the tone of OHMSS.
FreedomZealot Lazenby's Bond (relatively young, vulnerable and infinite) has similarities with Bond in ''Casino Royale'' without the final scene. In this scene we see the character of Bond who had to be in O.H.M.S.S. In the film and in the book and like the actors to the other roles, Bond is a mature man with experience. Connery has weak moments (bomb deactivasion scene in ''Goldfinger'') and rescued by Domino in ''Thunderball'' and Aki in ''You Only Live Twice'', but we don't remember these because the films have other direction. About the end scene I think it would be much closer to the book. Ιn book the car doesn't stop and after the gun shot comes out of the road and Bond lost his senses for a while and is slightly ingured, when he talks to the policeman on the motorcycle.
George Lazenby Had a Big Task Replacing Sean Connery On Her Majesty's Secret Service Is a Fairly Good Movie . I Think George Lazenby Should Have Done More James Bond Films Diamonds Are Forever Probably Would Have Been Different.
I like it how people who prefer the silly "Bond is a codename" theory refuse to comment on Lazenby having memories and mementos of Bond's adventures from previous films.
RedKnight261295 Yes it's the only time, and this shows that Connery is still Bond for everyone. Lazenby didn't say ''This never happened to the other movies''.
LVCS is proud and honored to have George Lazenby as our special guest for 2013. We wish him continued success and look forward coming back to Las Vegas soon.
There are very good hand to hand combat scenes with Connery before. ''From Russia with Love'' / Grant, ''Thunderball''/ Colonel Jacques Bouvar and Largo, ''You Only Live Twice''/ Sumo Wrestler and Hans.
Lazenby rules as Bond, the Best Bond Fighter and Voice. And Married once withTracy, only to be nearly repeated with Craig, with Vesper, in Casino Royale!!
Lazenby's doing a western film due for release in the next couple of years, apparently. Excited to see it. He was a great Bond, just about as good as Connery and much better than Brosnan or Moore. The only two who outright beat him are Craig and, of course, Dalton. In my books at least.
George Lazenby: the best James Bond in the finest Bond film. The most human, most believable, most athletic. He may not have achieved A-level stardom, but I’m glad he wasn’t in the three pieces of crap that followed! Connery would not have done a better job, and Moore would have been completely out of his depth.
007 BOND, JAMES NOVATO, CALIFORNIA AFB (Hamilton) Is where the final entry was made in September, 1945, in my father's WWII Air Navigator's Log. Which found its way out of the closet 42 years later. Due to the Whittier's earthquake of 10/01/87. At my first sight of its Navigator's signature with abbreviated Air Corps and 0-807177. Dad's numbers are seven heavy. 💡007, heavy.
good job , I like the titles very stylish, but should had edited the fight scenes before the death, no matter still liked it . The first time I saw it in the theater , I was blown away at the end , before A leftover villain pops up or tries to kick Him with a poison tip shoe , but Tracy getting a head shot ? an Him in grief, I thought the film may go on another 30 minutes , cuz You Bond was pissed . Though in real life changed things Lazenby was out an the Actress who played Blunt died a few weeks after the film premiered an by 71 Telly had another job. They always said Diamonds was suppose to pick up from that scene . Lazenby should had kicked His Mangers ass.
The actors who played Bond are not in the same season. I'm not looking for the best, but for the right person for the role and the time. Connery wasn't only an actor who played Bond, but was Bond until the early 70s. Love and respect is not enough for Lazenby. After Connery in O.H.M.S.S. I believe in Stanley Baker. Moore, especially from ''The Spy Who Loved Me'', was the right man at the right time (except ''A View to a Kill'' must play Dalton). After him, Dalton was the right man for the role and the time. But he was unlucky, because he came to the end of the Cold War (a basic theme in Bond films script) and in the years 1990-1994 without a Bond film. Also Brosnan was the right man after Dalton and the actor who reborn Bond. Now Graig is very successful and his hard style without humor fits into the season, especially in the Eastern European and Asian viewers.

Thanks for making that clip.. lazenby deserves a lot more of these fan tributes
I agree! I saw that movie when I was about 12 years old and I loved it. I ended up seeing it three times. The score was great too!

Lazenby and Dalton are so underrated, they played Bond like Fleming wrote in the books.
Totally agree they played Bond real like Craig !!
This is my favourite James Bond movie. George Lazenby seems believable as the superhero because I think he is a tough guy in real life. Diana Rigg was also good. The `Ski Chase` is my favourite action scene in the movies.
***** Thanks for your reply, sir. I too remember the Bond marathons. The world has certainly changed since those days.
+Rob Labow you got a excellent taste sir :) its my favourite too..just perfection
If Lazenby had continued in the role for more films, he might have been the best Bond of them all. Terrible decision on his part to quit the role.
Actually he wanted to come back but broccoli told him he couldn't do that.
corey washington He should play a different role in SPECTRE (Bond 24). Maybe as a retired MI6 agent who has connections with SPECTRE. Just so George Lazenby can at least be in another bond movie. +professorpsoop finally some people (like you) who share my opinion to the point.. very glad you left that comment here sir! thanks! :)
Lazenby was his own style of Bond
Pros for Lazenby's Bond:
Best hand to hand fights (George wasn't a karate expert and Bruce Lee's friend for nothing)
Best bond girl (Even Craig's Vesper isn't that great when compared to Tracy)
Best interpretation of Bond (cool and charming but down to earth and emotional despite apparent stoicism)
Best tone (both over the top and subdued when appropriate)
Best cinematography for its time
Best twist ending
One of the first movie reboots and done right
Actually faithful to the source material
Cons:
Erm... Lazenby is not Connery. Even though Connery sucked in the next film, it's still a con somehow.

"Well this never happened to the other fellow" probably the only time where one bond references the predecessor.
It's a 4th wall joke.
I like it how people who prefer the silly "Bond is a codename" theory refuse to comment on Lazenby having memories and mementos of Bond's adventures from previous films.

One of my favorites.
He is very much underrated, Good actor
the forgotten james bond, he was nice too
One of my favorite books and movie
George Lazenby's Bond had the best hand to hand combat scenes, unrivaled until Daniel Craig 30 years later.
There are very good hand to hand combat scenes with Connery before. ''From Russia with Love'' / Grant, ''Thunderball''/ Colonel Jacques Bouvar and Largo, ''You Only Live Twice''/ Sumo Wrestler and Hans.

Per me miglior 007, scena iniziale in macchina unica, poi nei corpo a corpo è fenomenale!
George lazenby the best bond in the history of 007
j'ai mis ce james bond dans le top 5 !! ( Lazenby should have done 2 bond like T. Dalton, what a aste for him and us the fans !!

Still the best gun barrel and overall movie in the whole cannon
Lazenby rules as Bond, the best Fighter and voice of Bond .The first to play Bond Real, and Marry Tracy. And Craig repeated it in Casino Royale!!
Lazenby rules as the first most realistic Bond period. To be copied in style later by Dalton and Craig !!

+Dan Reese he really should have..
Tom hiddeston could take this sketch for the new film what ever happened to the other fellow
Why infamous? Bond is not evil...
I think the ending ruined the film
Lazenby may have been better as a more sentimental Bond, but overall his portrayal was boring. I definitely favor Connery.
Keaton Safar boo Lazenby is the best bond
Lazenby was the best Bond after Cannery. All the Bonds got progressively worse with Daniel Craig being the worst of the lot.
The actors who played Bond are not in the same season. I'm not looking for the best, but for the right person for the role and the time. The worst James Bond ever😅
Terrible plot
Blame Fleming, it's based on his book
