Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is an action role-playing video game developed for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox and Xbox 360 by Raven Software and published by Activision. The game was ported to the PlayStation Portable and Wii by Vicarious Visions, and to Microsoft Windows by Beenox. A different Game Boy Advance version was developed by Barking Lizards Technologies. The game was released on October 24, 2006 in North America for most platforms, with PlayStation 3 and Wii ports following shortly thereafter, as well as international releases. The game was planned for release on Nintendo DS and GameCube, but these releases were cancelled. The game was released in Japan for Wii and PlayStation 3. It was released on July 26, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows, and on July 28, 2016 on Xbox One by Zoë Mode.

I don’t think there’ll ever be a Marvel game like this one again. Nothing truly embodies the spirit and aura of the Marvel universe quite like this masterpiece.
What about the LEGO Marvel Superheroes games and the Insomniac Marvel Universe (Spider-Man/Wolverine)? Those are modern games that maintain the true Marvel spirit, to me.
@@maxxgunner5573 I can see what you mean by Lego Marvel Superheroes, but not the insomniac games. They're reason only focusing on a primary aspect of the Marvel universe rather than the universe itself. In other words, they're only focusing on specific characters instead of the Marvel Universe as a whole.
@@Digitizer777 I still hope for the possibly of Insomniac slowly gain their own Marvel Universe. I mean, MCU did the same thing on focusing on specific characters and look what happened.
@@maxxgunner5573 Yes, but they specifically focused on specific characters. It wasn't until Avenger, Agents of Shield, and later films that we witnessed the universe as a whole. And most of those films were about teams
I agree with you. This game took you across the Marvel Universe and experience different cultures such as Asgard,Attilan,Skrull Planet,Atlantis,etc. The plot itself was original and not an adapted or reused Marvel story in comics. The roster of characters and the maps were diverse and interesting. Number 2 and 3 did not measure up to number 1 although number 2 had better gameplay but that’s it.
Don’t lie. We all want an animated show in the style of UA’s cutscenes.
Yesssss I can’t agree more, and with this style of marvel. I love the classic 90s/2000s feel of it and style.

I miss this era of Marvel. They just have a different feel to them. The games, the comics (apart from One More Day), the Mavrel Legends figures, the trading cards, etc.

Man, this game was super fun as hell. As a kid, i mainly played it for Spider-Man since i was a huge Spider-Man fan. But this game introduced me to other heroes like the X-men, Captain America, Fantastic 4, etc & i fell in love even more with marvel
It was a great Marvel game and deserve a good remake not that bad remaster they made but we probably won't get it

It’s a shame that ultimate alliance 2 went with a superhero civil war as the ending with Galactus made my sister and I ready to fight the world eater.
It could be a great sequel with Galactus as next main villian but i don't know what made them change that

@@Das7ardly honestly my best guess is that the directors or the heads at activision wanted to cash in on the Civil War Comic and any thoughts about Galactus were forced to be dropped.
I'm truly amazed how this game still holds up after all these years whether it's the gameplay, the storyline and even the cinematic cutscenes.

The amount of characters this game had and the lvls from Atlantis to hell nothing short of amazing, one of my favourite childhood memories was getting to play this game on my PSP during summer break

This game really is a combination of everything pre-MCU. Characters who like Nightcrawler, Thor, and Captain America use their Ultimate Universe designs, Wolverine is wearing just a t-shirt and jeans like Hugh Jackman's portrayal of the character in the X-Men movies at this time, Hell - Spider-Man's front spider emblem is straight up lifted from the Spider-Man 2 Raimi suit.
5:11 I always liked Wolverine and Spiderman relationship 😂😂😂. Although, he sounded a little bit liked Deadpool when he said it lol.

I had a feeling when Avengers: Secret Wars comes out in 2028 it will potentially be the closest thing we’ll get to having a live action ultimate alliance and rebooting our current mcu

Well there are the ultimate avengers movie that also embodies the spirit & aura of the marvel universe much like an masterpiece too.
Man Marvel Games in the 2000's were weird when it came to designs since for example here you had characters like Captain America and Thor look like their ultimate universe counterparts but act like 616 and then you had Spider-Man and Wolverine who were just 616 lol
I think Wolverine was in a white t shirt to synergies with how Hugh Jackman looked in the X-men movies too, also Spider-Man has the rami logo on his chest.
I remember when this game first came out. It blew my mind back then and it still holds up surprisingly well today. It's honestly the direction I would have taken the MCU in after Endgame.

I literally envisioned the MCU movies to be a REPLICA to the MUA video game. How disappointed I was to see how Marvel has fallen off in the cinema world. Marvel ended with Stan Lee and Endgame.

@raymondsmith6650 I feel you on that, and it totally could work and technically still does, because this game came out as backwards compatible back in like 2015, but because Sony is stingy, Xbox had to remove the game SOLELY because Spiderman is in it. Stupid corporate bs taking our childhoods away from us.

Nightcrawler probably won’t show up due to the character’s devout beliefs, and we all know how Disney is these days. And if he does show up, he’s gonna be dumber down into a static character that serves no purpose like what happened with Daredevil.

Not necessarily a critique, but I wish kinda they would have added Black Widow as the main character in this game. She is easily my favourite female superhero character that I loved as a young boy.
I really enjoyed how Black Widow was used in this game, though I agree she should be playable. Maybe she unlocks after the double agent story is resolved

@@Das7ardly I know I'm late but she actually was playable in the PSP version and you can easily mod her back in to the 2006 PC version. There's a huge mod that allows you to have 50 characters.

I’ll be honest in my opinion this universe is better then marvel universe that’s on today because it has every super hero team in one universe like the avengers,X-men and fantastic 4 and other super hero teams I mean the marvel universe today is pretty good but the heroes get kinda weird sometimes and I wish that they made an ultimate alliance live action movie with all the actors from MCU and X-men and the original actors from fantastic 4 I think it would have been an awesome thing with all those heroes put together in one movie but unfortunately I don’t think that’ll ever happen because you know time,money,effort and get all the actors they need to make it and it depends if the actors would want to be those characters again correct me if I’m wrong
