I agree with all these lines, of course there’s also that one random line “stick this to the inside of your wrist with organic epoxy.” That line was stuck in my head forever lmao love it
I like how they used Hugh Jackman’s face for the cover art for this game, got Patrick Stewart to play Prof. X, yet got Mark Hamill to play Logan. Don’t get me wrong, I love Mark and he’s not too bad here, but I just find it funny.
I liked his voice for this. Sure you can hear Joker in his voice sometimes but he managed to pull of the unpleasant, gruff voice for Wolverine. I even love the line when he says "Can a dead man 'snikt' kill?"
"Sabretooth may be lookin' for ya, and he ain't bringin' flowers" Mark Hamill is my absolute favourite voice of Wolverine, and I also love this character look.
No discredit to Mark Hamill. He did a great job for Joker in Batman. He also did a great Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. And he did a fair job as wolverine in this. However, if you’re going to use Hugh Jackman to pose for the cover, you should probably star Hugh Jackman as the voice actor.
@@chrisossu2070 It was just shameless promotion and misleading but Mark still did a decent job, but nothing can beat his voice work as the Joker. I'm currently playing Arkham Asylum and it's a joy hearing him lend his voice talents once again in the video game format. Good hearing Kevin Conroy too if you remember the 90's animated series (which I own the complete box set of).
Believe it or not, Wolverine originally was gonna appear in the first Spiderman movie. And yes it was gonna be Hugh Jackman too. Imagine how wild that would have been
I will say, though, if there’s any character who would reasonably sound like his internal mic gain was too high when he talked, it would be Juggernaut’s aggro-ass.
@adrianb714 yeah at this point. Your right. It wasn't even a true movie tie-in though. It was based off of the new x-men comic run from 2001. I know because I have all the issues. That's where this wolverine design comes from.
It wasn’t supposed to be a movie tie in game it was going to be a stand alone Wolverine game based on the comics but activision felt that adding hugh Jackman’s wolverine on the cover would’ve help sell more copies
Used to love this game. Only found out recently that there was a lot of cut content, including a boss fight with Omega Red (also voiced by Hamill) and a larger role for May Deuce.
I actually really enjoyed this game despite the lack of checkpoints on lengthy levels (which understandably annoyed gamers) and Hamill does a really good Wolverine voice.
I think "Marvel's Wolverine" would be an amalgamation of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and "X2: Wolverine's Revenge". What do you think of that idea for the game?
Bruh, this game was great, even though it wasn’t the best gameplay wise. The story and voice acting were way ahead of it’s time, and Mark Hamill did WAY better than I thought as Logan. One of my favorite childhood games

Now that I've watched this a few times, I realized there's a few weird aspects to the story. (1) Wolverine being called Logan before the Weapon X project. In comics he went by Logan after the project, due to losing his memory including his birth name (James Howlet). (2) Department H being in charge of the Weapon X program, which means technically the Canadian super hero team Alpha Flight is responsible for Wolverine being the way he is. (3) I think the pilot was supposed to be Mystique in disguise, judging by the evil laugh, but it's likely she got cut at the last second. (4) How would Sabertooth know Wolverine's birthday?
I believe this is all based on the new x men comic run. Back in the early 2000s I've read all of those issues. It has this exact same wolverine and sabretooth. I actually read all the comics while listening to this game's soundtrack lol.
The first thing you said is actually false. Logan got that name after escaping from Alberta as a teenager, when he had to get a false name to not alert anyone of his disappearance, waaay before the Weapon X project. Logan is actually the name of Wolverine's family old gardener, who's supposed to have had an affair with Wolverone's mother and to be his actual father. Rather confusing, I know, but it's all told in the Origin comic series

Mark's amazing in this! The man is a treasure, and always hits it out of the park whenever he does voice acting!
Mark's Wolverine voice is the best thing that ever happened to this character

Jackman did lend his voice in X-Men: The Official Game, but that was...ugh.
Hugh Jackman's face was pretty much slapped on the cover to sell copies. This game has pretty much nothing to do with the movie.

There's a LOOOOT of Wolverine comic lore in here for a supposed movie tie in game.

It was nice that you were able to include the deleted scene where Rino Romano reprises Spider-Man.
I wonder why every single villain in this game has blank eyes
I think its trying to capture those comic aesthetics.
