@@Bodokun They aren’t used to Chinese Opera, if you were only listening to Western Pop Music this would sound harsh and grating.
But the beauty in the song is obscured to those who do not natively understand the language, this song has to way too much hidden meaning to properly articulate into English.

"making fun" of because at first it is harsh... I had to adjust my "hearing expectation" and listen to it several times to appreciate it more.
A lot of people who made fun of it came out loving the song a the end of shenhe's quest. Im glad people realized how epic it was .. especially with the art too.

I’m so glad they keep the Chinese singing for yunjin. Tho it was a big mistake to make her singing in the livestream without music, it just made it sound weird while in reality it was really beautiful. This is my favorite animation Mihoyo done, and it made me really wanna listen to Chinese operas more.

I’ve been singing Chinese opera for years and it does sound a bit modernized but IT IS GOOOOOOOD KEEP TRYING IT BRO if you do more of these songs I advice you to use even more nasal voice and make a smiley shape of your mouth to ensure safety and a raised palet

I remember my granny used to always listen to Chinese opera on her mini radio when I was just a kid. I knew many of them contained a story, but never given much thought about it until now. (Mainly because I can’t understand the any lyrics) Thank you genshin for showing me how great it is.

It's actually pretty sick that he managed to do so well, there were some parts that had something missing but that's to be expected since they ain't a professional Chinese opera singer. But I did not think anyone that isn't a opera singer would dare try to cover this piece.
But if it hurts your throat, don't do it too much man. The injury isn't worth it, especially permanent ones.
EDIT 1: Do not be mistaken, I am not in a position to answer questions relating to chinese opera as I am not trained in any type of music at all. What does this mean? it means I am not very educated in music theory at all, I don't have a degree nor am I planning on studying it. The comment was made on common sense.

@@Viewer13128 forcing your voice to sing in a style it was not trained for. I'll use instruments as an example. If you let an artist that produces pop music use an instrument made for classical music, they are bound to damage the instrument or themselves. Why is this? you may ask. Well, its not as simple as imitating. If it was indeed that simple, people would not need to "learn" from others. When people learn to sing or play in a specific genre or style of music, they learn the hows and whys of the techniques applied to said style or genre. These things are important to take note of, these things are there in the first place to prevent something from happening. Now using the previous example, if the pop artist uses a violin without any training at all. They can and will either damage the strings on the violin or bow itself as well as themselves if say, they do not know how to hold the violin and the bow.
But unlike instruments which can be fixed, replaced or maybe restored. The human body is much more fragile, we cannot just replace our larynx (voice box) as easily as we can with violin strings. Musical instruments can be fixed over and over again, that is a true fact but eventually after many repairs, they are bound to be worn out. If musical instruments that are much more resilient than the human body can be worn out so easily, what say that the human body can last longer when not handled properly?

How old do people need to be to be a opera singer?
Lastly, is it possible for people that does other types of opera in other cultures to be able to do Chinese opera?

back in the days in china, in chinese theater usually females roles were played by men they would sing in a high pitched voice. Women who did opera back in the days were frowned upon and the male used to act as a female because they used to say "only a man knows the perfect woman". so its not strange at all too see a male do chinese beiping opera.

I’ve read a comment on how there is a modern touch to it but honestly this cover is just as good as the one I watched, it has a similar nostalgic feeling but it’s a lot more powerful compared the original piece. The original piece has a more gentle touch to it. This one has more fullness and power. I love it and it gives me so much goosebumps.

Here's a little tip for those who want to try to sing it in Chinese-Opera-Like voice (I'm not professional in anyway) but you basically want to enunciate each of the words in the front of your mouth, rather than in the back.
