Batman Arkham Knight is like the most detailed superhero game ever. It's older than Spiderman but look at those textures, the detail. Even after 8 years, i still play it and enjoy it a LOT! The best finale to one of the most iconic super hero game franchises I've ever seen. Rocksteady, sincerely, Thank You!
amazing how beautiful the details of Gotham City are. Batman's costume, movement, lighting, etc. Marvel Spider-Man is one of my favorite games and contains a beautiful story, but Batman has perfect things with him. I really hope that in Marvel Spider-Man 2 Insomniac shines perfectly.
Did you know that one developer spent two whole years programming Batman's cape from Arkham Asylum? It's crazy how detailed the Arkham games are. Makes me wish Gotham Knights even was half as good as them.
First these two games are spectacular and i love both of these games could play them both without getting bored they both have their flaws but honestly i accept those flaws because it brought an epic story and i spent hours days and weeks playing these games such a masterpiece
Spider-man definitely owes a lot to the Arkham series, but I'd also say that the Arkham games (especially once they move to an open world in City) owe a lot to Spider-man 2 (PS2/Xbox/GC). It's cool to see the cycle of influence and the overall progression of superhero games.
Batman starts from somewhere first I think it starts from Batman & Robin for having free roam then Batman Vengeance and Dark Tomorrow also might be one of the factors in making Arkham series but Spider-Man 2 certainly gave them more ideas such as counter moves and the Grappling hooks for traversal and combat Despite being a different comic book they inspired each others
@Evander Pawliw Looks like you're the 9 year old who needs to understand how the world works. Spider Man 2 was one of those successful open world games that paved the way for other games to improve theirs. Keep in mind that game came out 11 years before Arkham Knight
Imma just say it. Spider-Man man is a fantastic game. But it don’t compare to Arkhams gameplay, graphics, combat ect. Like the scope of these game are unprecedented. The details to every nook and cranny of the game ensure your not just playing as Batman, but you are apart of his world. A gamerverse that’s had an audience for over a decade. Not sayin insomniacs Spider-Man can’t do that! They just ain’t done it yet. I hope they do! They are on their way in their own Amazing fashion

Two of my favorite games ever, perfect in design and execution. I love how similar they are and yet they have their own feel and personality, both games capture masterfully the essence of being Batman/Spider-Man, not only they apply video game mechanics to the gameplay but they are justified by the character's lore, gadgets and moves.
@@pizzatime4204 Spider-Man is simply a copy with an amazing Art directory and a good script. Batman Arkham is better mostly in gameplay and graphic (because we are talking about 2015, where a graphic like that in game was incredibile)
im a marvels spider man fan and wow for a game released 7 years ago, batman arkham graphic details are impressive as hell shout out to the developers!! maybe spider man is missing some details bc the city in this game is really big and the devs had to focus in making it look good when we're swinging and even when we're just chilling on the ground and seeing stuff up close like the textures and etc, feel like a living city, and definitely during the gameplay you can feel it, theres people on the roof of buildings partying, ppl on the ground playing basketball and stuff. theres points which the both games are better bc of the differences between batman's and spidey's city and story. im sure both are beautiful and amazing games!
Arkham Knight is a visual masterpiece from top to bottom. Lots and lots of details. The rain...oh my. I've never seen light interacting with the rain like that in any videogame. What I think detracts a lot from the graphical quality in Spiderman is the low poly feeling (for me at least) that the game gives when the city is viewed from above. Buildings are too obviously just boxes, with little detail added.
@sy92r01 yeah I did and no it’s not. You probably mean remastered last of us hopefully but even remastered doesn’t have better graphics than marvel Spider-Man -Man. Don’t me a hater that was the dumbest thing I heard. You never played Spider-Man before in your life.

@@voltairezollo1202 sorry dude but your wrong here Arkham knight looks better simply because it’s made using unreal which is always going to look better than the vast majority of games.
@@CC-iy6zk no. Spider-Man lighting is more based off of real life. The windows are transparent and actual interior. Arkham knight just has yellow glass panes that emit light and reflection which makes the lighting in the night appear better. Watch a video of Spider-Man vs doc ock when it’s raining in the night the game looks so much better well appears better. In marvels Spider-Man the lighting is so accurate that all the light comes from the sun and buildings instead of adding a bunch of transparent lights. Well that’s what old games used to do.
I think it's not really the grafics. It's the different lighting and the different shapes of buildings that are not just designed like huge glass blocks. There is a difference between a game that sets in modern New York on daylight and a game that plays in Gotham by night with mixed architecture.
Technically Spider-Man's graphics are way better, but the environment and the atmosphere of Batman is way better, which makes me like it more than Spider-Man
It's the atmosphere of Arkham Knight that make it look better graphically, but without the atmosphere you can see that Spider Man is better graphically
As a neutral fan of both. I prefer Arkham Knight. It has possibly one of the best graphics and it was ahead of its time. The villians are so good. Especially the costumes you select for batman are good too. So many things about Arkham Knight makes it possibly the best superhero game
Imo Arkham had the worst bossfights in the entire series, coming from a huge arkham fan. I wish Batman and Jason had a one on one fist fight at the end
Aside from the overuse of the batmobile.......I thought the story possibly is one of the best in a super hero game! It felt super cinematic and kind of real in a world where its clearly fantasy! The poison ivy stuff, The Scarecrow story and even the controversial jason todd story! I like that it was a world that contrasted with the military aspect vs the crazy and unhinged approach from the first arkham game!
The reason combat in Spider-Man PS4 feels so sluggish compared to the Arkham games is because: - There's no parrying, only dodges - Every dodge is either a dramatic dive or a backflip rather than simply swaying or step-dashing - Finishing moves take too long to end due to excessive use of slow-mo - Certain attacks and moves that could be done in one or two motions can take up to *five* motions to finish (Spider-Man _does not_ need to spin around a mail box twice to throw stuff at bad guys and he certainly doesn't need to shoot two webs to yank a weapon out of an enemy's hands) - Every special move shifts the camera to a cinematic angle instead of saving it for the last enemy in an encounter - For some strange reason, you can't quickfire gadgets - The majority of your basic attacks are spin kicks, barely any punches - Enemy AI isn't aggressive enough and they're often spread out too far - No "Beatdown" move where you rapidly attack a single enemy until their KO'd And no, none of it is intentional because of "lore reasons". Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time showed that Spider-Man combat can be a lot faster and smoother without compromising on the stylishness
First I thought it was on Unreal Engine 4. But Rocksteady really pushed the Unreal Engine 3 to its limits providing us game that looks so great even to this day.
Arkham Knight has a more realistic feel, while Spider-Man has a more comic booky feel. Both are great in their own right and shoutout to the developers who worked so hard on both games.
I actually feel the opposite. In AK it’s always nighttime and always raining and always dark to make it fit the Batman/Gotham theme. In Spider-Man however it’s more realistic, more lighting, not always dark and moody. Both games however do look amazing in their own style, just depends which style you prefer more tbh.
How on earth does spider-man ps4 look like a comic book? if you're talking about spider-man ps1/ultimate spider-man/ultimate spider-man total mayhem then you are 100% correct, but spider-man ps4? Hell nah.
@@burcopresents that is because it is a batman game batman strikes only at night if you know anything about batman while spider man does both and villains are terrified by batman and most villains act in night like 90% so yeah it has to be night most of the night not if all the time
Seeing them side by side just solidifies how much better and ahead of its time Batman was. The environments alone are so much better in Batman. Watch 2:06 - 2:20. The streets on NYC lack personality and life unlike Gotham. Not sure why they decided to go with such a clean and flat aesthetic for NYC considering how vibrant the city is in real life.
Batman arkham knight is a beautiful masterpiece, i loved the suit and all the only thing was that rocksteady wanted to introduce the batmobile and many missions were completed using it and some of them can get boring but putting it aside it was a pure masterpiece from the environment to history and gameplay.
Both of them are amazing but I prefer Arkham Knight just because it's not exclusive to one platform. Let me tell you it can really look amazing on PC Edit: Spiderman came out on PC after I wrote the original comment and as I said it really does look amazing on PC

Everything in Arkham Knight just seems more realistic. Even the unrealistic things feel more realistic. The way Batman moves, the combat, all has this weight behind it. Everything in Spider-Man feels like weightless slow motion.
Though I like Arkham Knight more, I gotta disagree on this one. Batman is intended to look intimidating with a lot of muscle behind it, but Spider is way more light and agile, thus, as you said, seemingly weightless.
@@godzillazfriction I just wanted to wrap the general idea into one small reply, but I can explain more thoroughly. Though Batman's punches seem to have more weight than Spidey's, he's a human. Yes, he holds back too, but nevertheless, he applies tremendous amount of force into his punches. The game wants to convince you that though Batman a meer human, his punches are still devastating. Meanwhile, M'sS-M wants to convince you that though Spider is a superhuman, he too holds punches. His punches seem like underwhelming, yeah, but that's the intention. You never get rid of that feeling that Spider is able to do more.

The fact that Arkham Knight looks this good when it came out in 2015 is so mind blowing. This game was really ahead of it's time and the fact the you are comparing the PS5 Remaster of Spiderman to the PS4 Version Arkham Knight (don't know why you aren't using the PC Version at Max Settings) And it still looks just as good if not better just shows that Rocksteady Really put in alot of work into Arkham Knight.

IMO judging from both experience and this video, Spider-man excels in the movement / open roam department, while Arkham takes the combat / stealth department with the Freeflow system, its just so satisfying, but that dosent mean Spider-Man's combat is bad or Arkhams free roam is bad though
In all honesty, they're both perfect at what they're trying to do so it's hard to compare. Arkham Knight is the perfect Batman game. Spider-Man is the perfect Spider-Man game. Their systems will inherently feel different, not really better or worse. Both absolute masterpieces.
I personally never really loved Arkham’s combat. It felt a lot more button mash than Spider-Man, probably just because Spider-Man is inherently more agile. Maybe it’s the difficulty I played on but it was never that engaging to me for some reason. And side note: While I do enjoy swinging in Spider-Man more, driving in the batmobile in Arkham is awesome

I'm trying to put myself on your shoes. But I still can't help but think that you're talking about the character not the graphics design and combat which is the content of this video. So I guess you're talking about the character not the content of this video. I don't judge but it's kinda misleading whether your talking about the graphics or the character.
I love how everyone is roasting you even though the "tense and angry" was a compliment to the animation style since it fits Batman along with Spidermans free and flexible movement
Arkham Knight is definitely superior in pretty much every way, but the main two are the world/environment, and polish. AK's world is considerably more detailed, atmospheric, and stylized; it's one of the best representations of Gotham City EVER. Its rainy night setting contributes to this a great deal. AK's world will almost always be superior to SM's relatively realistic Manhattan. The game is also more polished, and the Batmobile, though controversial in its implementation in the story, brings a whole other dimension of traversal and mechanics to the world.
I wouldn’t say every way. Spider-Man’s writing is much better story wise and movement/traversing is better. And I know this is unpopular but I’d put the combat higher as well only because there’s so much more variety with his powers. Both great though and really make you feel like Batman/Spider-Man

Rocksteady is basically a den of geniuses. I'm currently playing Arkham Knight at 60 to 90fps and wow... it really does look more impressive than the majority of games out now. I switched the framerate to 30fps and my jaw dropped. The game looks like a literal Hollywood movie.
@@dom20141 Because it gives the game a more cinematic Hollywood-esque feel, as opposed to the arcade-y feel of high framerates. Also, high framerates make the 3D assets look flat/less dense which ruibs the immersion for me.
@@thronosstudios that makes no sense. Movies use 24 fps because its easier to edit. If you prefer a less smooth experience then you're just weird. Also you have a wacky pc and/or eyes if high fps makes textures look worse. What a take 💀
@@dom20141 Easier to edit?! Hahaha, what are you smoking? 24 fps used to be the standard for film because that was the understanding of the time when films were still in their infancy of the max amount of "images" the eyes could perceive in a second. Now it's a standard because it gives movies their distinct cinematic feel. That's why The Hobbit movie was poorly received having been filmed at 45 fps. It gives everything a cheap, soap opera kind of feel, and the props on the scene look really like props instead of actual objects organic to the scene. And my PC is fine, hence why it can run this game between 50 to 70 fps in 4K... but it looks lame, so I mostly play it at 30 fps because the motion blur in lower framerates glues the motion together and gives it more density. When the framerate is higher, the motion blur is essentially not needed, so it just looks like a bunch of screenshots rapidly flashing in succession, which is jarring. That is, unless the game runs upwards of 200 fps (where the frames start to smoothly blend again). I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. Some of us don't play games just to play games, but to be immersed in an experience. I guess if you're into sports/racing games (or Fortnite -- none of which I'm into) it would make sense why you'd like to play like that.
@@thronosstudios you're kidding yourself. 60fps is an objective improvement. I've played knight at 30 and it feels horrible. You either have shitty eyes or don't know how to properly adjust your graphics

Batman’s gliding v Spider-Man’s swinging has a clear winner. Yeah it’s amazing to swing so freely and with grace, but the detail with the rain and the glow of the city with Batman is just next level
9:53 the reason why the clock doesn't move in Spider-Man is not because the detail is missing, but because it's a reference to the Spider-Man comics :3
Arkham Knight looks so fricking good and holds up to with even next gen games. Makes me wonder what tf the level designers started smoking that they couldn't just stop making us use the batmobile for like a minute.
they're both 10/10 games for me. spiderman being my favorite marvel and batman being my favorite dc i dont really have a huge bias here so i just cant pick, it really goes back and forth on any day. right now id probably say as a whole package spiderman.
I finished arkham knight on pc twice already, but only a few hours with spiderman on ps4, the combat system was not responsive like batman, and there was some delay with the controller, but it releases today on pc, I think I'm gonna give it another try

Both of them are amazing games I am glad that I played both excited for Wolverine and wonder Women because we already got best Spiderman ND batman games now I want there games also
another interesting detail about arkham knight is how the grapple works realistically, batman shoots the grapple to a point, it hooks on to a ledge and only then does it start reeling. Whereas in spiderman, when peter zips to a ledge to swing, he already takes off before the web even reaches the ledges
@@spider-man_batman_fan2959 of course. Don't get me wrong. Spiderman is great, I just wasn't a fan of the ubisoft style side quests. Towers and collectibles. I feel like those are going to be much better in the sequel
Both games came in a time period where every year a huge step up was made with new games. The enviroment in Batman Arkham Knight has a slight cartoony edge into it (especially noticeable inside buildings) also gotta give credit to it for being a 3 year older game. Regardless both games look and feel really great.. at least in my opinion, Batman being my favourite out of the two.
Batman Arkham Knight looks far superior, you can really tell that their game engine is more advanced nd fine tuned to do more complex stuf compared to sony Spiderman game. Its not just visuals, but the gameplay is just far more diverse nd has interresting nd detailed mechanics. I always had big respect for technical achievement from past arkham games, but arkham knight was the last nail, that I considered Rocksteady to be one of the most talented devs amongh Kojima productions and rockstars.
one of things that makes Arkham Batman better than Spider-Man is that, when you're moving around or parkour-ing around in Arkham you can feel the weight of the character. the camera, the motion blur and the sounds makes it feel like there is a life to it. the Spider-Man one though is too stabilized, no lag which makes it feel lifeless. btw this is just my opinion, I love both games.
Both capture the character really well but Akrham knight to me is better. Travelling thru the city alone is incredible, being able to glide or use the batmobile is awesome. The city they created and the graphics are just amazing, I played it on the xbox at 900p and 30fps and thought it looked really good. Seeing the game on pc at 4k at 120fps for the first time was mindblowing.
I believe there are no loading screens for Arkham knight, if you play the game without ever dying once it's like a movie, kind of like in god of war 2018 where you only get loading screens when you die, the way it transitions from cutscene to gameplay is amazing
I love both games to death pretty much equally. I slightly prefer Spider-man when it comes to combat and traversal system and prefer arkham when it comes to stealth and overall setting and atmosphere
Despite being released earlier, Arkham series is quiet some steps ahead in every aspect. Story, puzzles, combat, visuals, gameplay ... and pretty much everything. But Spiderman series is in no way a bad game. It is great indeed too. I enjoyed playing both.
In terms of navigation around the city, boss fights and story Spider man takes the cake. Arkham knight definitely has better graphics, gameplay and diversity (i.e. Combat, Predator, tank battles, riddles, racing all in one!)

There is a difference between a game that sets in modern New York on daylight and a game that plays in Gotham by night with mixed architecture.
Technically Spider-Man's graphics are way better, but the environment and the atmosphere of Batman is way better, which makes me like it more than Spider-Man

@@aphoticphoton yeah it's an evolved Batman Arkham Game with a great story. No DC Game can match it, in my opinion.
Spiderman ps4 is better
The reason combat in Spider-Man PS4 feels so sluggish compared to the Arkham games is because:
- There's no parrying, only dodges
- Every dodge is either a dramatic dive or a backflip rather than simply swaying or step-dashing
- Finishing moves take too long to end due to excessive use of slow-mo
- Certain attacks and moves that could be done in one or two motions can take up to *five* motions to finish (Spider-Man _does not_ need to spin around a mail box twice to throw stuff at bad guys and he certainly doesn't need to shoot two webs to yank a weapon out of an enemy's hands)
- Every special move shifts the camera to a cinematic angle instead of saving it for the last enemy in an encounter
- For some strange reason, you can't quickfire gadgets
- The majority of your basic attacks are spin kicks, barely any punches
- Enemy AI isn't aggressive enough and they're often spread out too far
- No "Beatdown" move where you rapidly attack a single enemy until their KO'd
And no, none of it is intentional because of "lore reasons".

I often walk and admire the beauty of Arkham Knight. Even Arkham city/ origins look beautiful to this day.

The game looks like a literal Hollywood movie.
i dont understand why youd switch to 30 fps?

I always had big respect for technical achievement from past arkham games, but arkham knight was the last nail, that I considered Rocksteady to be one of the most talented devs amongh Kojima productions and rockstars.
Batman rain physics is so great 😍
Imagine how Good Batman arkham knight could look on ps5 😍
also on 8k / 4k
At that point, Just watch one of the latest batman movies lol (Graphics would be that great)
one of things that makes Arkham Batman better than Spider-Man is that, when you're moving around or parkour-ing around in Arkham you can feel the weight of the character. the camera, the motion blur and the sounds makes it feel like there is a life to it. the Spider-Man one though is too stabilized, no lag which makes it feel lifeless. btw this is just my opinion, I love both games.
Spiderman is just that more powerful and agile that's why. He does it with ease while batman is still only human
@@JessieRamos16 good point
Batman is a rich guy in a Halloween bat suit, whereas Spiderman is a broke student bitten by a radioactive spider.
Halloween? That suit had armour
Can I also get that Halloween suit?
Batman has more realistic gravity feeling and looks much better visually
For now,we have to wait to see what's marvel spider man 2 cooking 👀
@justplaying798 it literally looks like spiderman ps4, I honestly couldn't find any changes except the venom garbage.
I love both games to death pretty much equally. I slightly prefer Spider-man when it comes to combat and traversal system and prefer arkham when it comes to stealth and overall setting and atmosphere
Two legendary games
they are so similar. i used to play AK all the time.. and on aug12 when SP came to PC, i cant help but notice the similarities
the mechanics and all
Despite being released earlier, Arkham series is quiet some steps ahead in every aspect. Story, puzzles, combat, visuals, gameplay ... and pretty much everything. But Spiderman series is in no way a bad game. It is great indeed too. I enjoyed playing both.
No
@Imari-Tard you rn:,☝️🤓
In terms of navigation around the city, boss fights and story Spider man takes the cake. Arkham knight definitely has better graphics, gameplay and diversity (i.e. Combat, Predator, tank battles, riddles, racing all in one!)
Arkham story is almost as par as spiderman... Only the boss fight was bad.. Also spidermans story take the peak point around the end along with a pointwhere i got bored, wheres arkham kept me sat on the edge of the chair
@@AbdurRahim-ep5qv think biggest letdown in Arkham knights story was the reveal on who the Arkham knight is. It made sense why he wanted Batman dead but in terms of why he teamed up with scarecrow to bomb the city I still can’t understand.
@@MrWinMrWin-qr2bn The Arkham Knight obsessed with defeating Batman for about three years, he was not thinking clearly.
Also, my biggest problem with who the Arkham Knight was is that, while it makes sense like you said, it was WAY too big a bomb to drop in the last game of the trilogy. Especially since the only reference to the character was a line from non-canonical DLC. Paul Dini skipped that character when he wrote Batman: TAS and likely intended to skip him in the Arkham series too. Rocksteady should've used a different character.
@@MMTrigger I agree I feel like if they were planning on putting the Arkham knight in as Jason Todd it should’ve been hinted in Arkham city so that the story would line up better
racing, riddles and tank battles were the weakest parts of the game. that's what people complained about the most including me.
Batman dives down:Hello there! Boom!!!!
It amazes me how most took arkham knight for granted and that’s ok. Arkham knight will go down as the best super hero game of all time
Thanks for timestamps!
What Rocksteady did for Batman, Insomniac did for Spiderman, only if Spiderman wasn't exclusive to PS and PC.
Both are awesome.hope spiderman will get released for pc soon.and for batman arkham knight, hope rocksteady will make the batman 2022 movie inspired skins for both batman & batmobile.
They're both amazing! I'd love to see these games remade in Unreal Engine 5!
@DreamWeaver huh?
Just like NetherRealm Studio, Rocksteady made Unreal Engine 3 their bitch, they modified and improved it some much that it is hard to believe that both Arkham Knight and Mortal Kombat 11 where both in this version of the engine... Incredible.
Nice bro really appreciate it 👌
Insomniac and Rocksteady did more for these characters than Warner and Disney will ever do
2015 was an amazing era for videogames.
yeah.
it's the year where the witcher 3 came out
These are 2 amazing games! I have both of them for my PS4. I recommend anyone who plays video games should purchase Batman Arkham Knight and spider Man.
whoa! Rocksteady's Arkham Series really set a benchmark for modern day AAA game titles. I mean it already makes many latest games look outdated. Although Insomniac did pretty good justice with Spider-man.
Batman Arkham Knight is the only game I can remember that never downgraded in the graphics department. A lot of these games nowadays can’t seem to hold up, but Batman did, and to make it better the game came out almost ten years ago. That’s quality over quantity at its finest people!!!
Red Dead Redemption 2 was definitely one of those games that never downgraded can’t forget that one lol
Batman was closer to a film than a videogame, that was just amazing.
Damn! Arkham Knight still looks fresh!!!
