      All Mortys become evil.
      Because of Rick's.
Rick's then go to a different universe where there is a morty
      Who is not evil yet.
Much like adults ruin every child .
Once they become adults and lose their authentic love.
We lose the our connection to them and their inocence.
And move on to pay attention to another child who is not spoiled by the toxic and cynical ways of life

Probably not. Taken straight, the series already has multiple examples of that, primarily the Interdemensional Cable Episodes in which the Characters of Rick and Morty generally don't do much other then watch TV. Considering the Nature of their lives at large, I'd argue that the same could be said about any episode that isn't focused on a Rick Adventure.

It's a reference to the year and a half long gaps between seasons and episodes isn't it? I mean the wait for season 4 was a pretty clear example of Rick and Morty literally doing nothing. And now another long wait for the back half of season 4. I've always suspected the delays are because Harmon and Roiland have major creative differences. To blame the fans for any of this is a total copout. It was the fans that they bitch about who made Rick and Morty popular. We get a twenty minute cartoon, they get millions of dollars and an extravagant lifestyle. How exactly are we the spoiled ones again???

Honestly, I really wouldn`t be surprised at this point if they did an episode that is just rick and morty sitting on the couch, not whatching enything, not saying anything and the writers trying to see HOW COULD THEY POSSIBLY MAKE THIS INTERESTING and it would end up being amazing. Imagine how far could they take the awkward silence before it`s soul crushing and tragic instead of funny. Maybe summer could be on the other couch on her phone the whole episode

Interesting to note is that in the Rick and Morty comics a Jerry fucks up the Citadel of Ricks I can't remember the specifics, but iirc he becomes a dictator figure or something. (Interesting note, that specific issue also refers to the Rick we follow as C-137, so it might be an adventure not followed in the show, or it might be that there are multiple "central finite curves," or that the comics might not be canon, etc. It's too much to _really_ worry about, though, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

    • @christianrapper

I don’t think there is a growing bond between him and Jerry. He only tolerates him because he is his daughters husband. Jerry is trying to become more assertive and independent but he still is kind of a dufus.

I like the new direction S4 is taking with the characters, especially Rick, Morty, and Jerry. I enjoy that Morty and Jerry are becoming more assertive and independent, even if the former is becoming a bit of a jerk.
Edit: Thanks for how many likes and respectful responses this got. I only posted it because I like the show and I want to hear valid discussions about it. And for those of you who just bash the creators directions and their new female writers, you do realize if you keep it up, you can literally cause a show to go under. What makes this show so great is the passion and enthusiasm they put into it. If you’re just going to project your prejudices onto the show and its writers, you’re going to make everyone hate it.

Thank you for pointing out (again) how fan favorite Rick is actually not only a bad role model, but an actual villain that ends up incredibly lonely and sad. The heist episode is actually really depressing, about a care taker destroying his kid's dreams for his own selfish reasons. It's child abuse over and over again.
It's nice to see how Summer has gotten to a point where she has stopped caring about her grandpa's approval, not waning to go to boobland with him and calling him out if he is being an ass.
While the producers are still showing Rick as a miserable character, it's increasingly harder to have empathy for him. If you are a shitty human because you lack the capacity to make things better that's one thing. But if you are a God like creature, having the knowledge and power to solve basically every problem of the universe... What a coward at best and villain at worst do you have to be then to reject that responsibility and to use that knowledge "to have fun" instead.
Rick is repulsed by the cat's actions but refuses to see his own most of the time. Which also makes him a hypocrite.

11:52 - The eruption of fans against the final season of Game of Thrones was not at all about fan expectations being set too high. Everyone other than the show's creators was on board to keep the show going much longer (including George RR Martin). In fact, the effort to subvert fan expectations has affected the show (and most fans would prefer a well-written idea they figured out the end of through literary analysis than a show that did manage to surprise them in a negative way). But sure, let's blame the fans of a created thing for why they no longer like said created thing instead of the people who actually dropped the proverbial ball.

    The over cynical fan aspect...
God, in the last two months I realized how the internet is. Like all the fandom stuff, but for me how cynical it is.
*Nothing* is 'good' anymore. It is either trash, average or a masterpiece. Not everyone is like this, but the majority keeps flocking to the 'best and perfect' shows.
I've been actively watching theories, games and youtube since 2011. I grew up with it as I am 19 now. And it made my mind cynical. I judge all the content I watch and find little mistakes everywhere. Stories with plotholes and inconsistencies and editing mistakes etc etc.
It sucks. I just want to enjoy my shows.
So my advice: try to just enjoy what other people created with (hopefully) effort and their heart and soul. Not everything has to be thought provoking or perfect. Sometimes it just 'is'.
14:16 *everything* has to be clarified these days, which is also a trend I hate. If you're doing something you have to make it *abundantly* clear what you mean and what you're not saying.
Sometimes even when you *do* make it clear people just skip over it, forget it or ignore what you said and keep going to the comments anyway.

Loretta...if you want people to care what you think, don't point out that you are 19. I know you probably don't feel that way yourself, but to most older people (and I don't mean significantly older) that just says "Go ahead and disregard anything I have to say, I'm 19 and I'm posting on YT, nothing I have to say at this point in time should be heard by anyone"

@@mightyone777 It would depend on how the phrasing is meant. People certainly grow wiser with age. Which can often times mean that a older persons opinion is more valueable because it is based on more experience.
You could be a super intelligent 12 year old. Pretty much anything said 12 year old has to say about society in general can be disregarded, the 12 year old has no meaningful experience with societies to be making judgement calls, no matter how intelligent they are.

I mostly said my age to clearify how long I've been on youtube. It just made sense in my head.
Some people are better with words than others. People with less intelligence can still bring interesting facts or ideas to the table. Age doesn't matter much.
Experience is important in life, any experience. Mental, emotional or physical. I might be experienced in one thing, like living for a long time and what comes with it, but I do have other experiences I can base my ideas and thoughts on.
Older doesn't always mean wiser, but in a discussion like this a lot of other things are important. Culture, experience, morals, ideas and ideals.
Btw if people want to disregard my comment because of my age, that's their problem. I just wanted to rant a bit and if anyone agreed/disagreed or wanted to add to my comment then I'm fine with it.

The only disappointing thing about the season is how short it is.

It'll be 10 episodes long by the time it's over, similar to the other 3 seasons before it. Plus many more episodes to come in future seasons as they were greenlighted for 70 more episodes after season 3.

i love season 4. everybody need to chill and be patience. i want rick and morty for years and years. they need to write lots of stories, not only about what people want. as long as they keep their creativity is all good.

This show has actually helped me shed one big prejudice I used to have: my lifelong belief that most women can't be funny. Some of my favorite R&M episodes that keep me laughing despite multiple views were each written by different women (I looked the writing credits up because I was like, "What genius wrote this?!"). I can't believe some fans have complained about the female writers! I'm grateful for them, because they've helped me grow as an individual.

Who wrote this video? It’s nothing but a giant dump of excuses. 1. Rick in a way sucks is nothing new 2. Trolling the fans doesn’t automatically result better writing. 3. It’s not even trolling to depict Rick as lame because he has always been depicted as such. And it’s not exactly smart to comment on fans’ morbid curiosity when you put out something abnormal like a talking cat, it can be argued as trolling but then only 6th grade trolling. 4. Refusing fan service of course is often associated with better writing, but could you not confuse refusing fan service with failing to meet fans’ high expectations? 5. Intentionally cool off the hype sounds like a lame excuse for being unable to deliver.
Not mad that Rick and Morty is going south, but please don’t make stupid and ridiculous excuses.

Roiland and Harmon understand what makes Rick and Morty so great -- each episode is a semi-encapsulated ride that will take you to places you won't expect. I enjoy being outside my comfort zone and taking in the absurdity and cleverness of every joke and punch line. The shows creative team should keep on doing what they are doing!

I respect the hell out of the creators for not bending over to the fan theories, and just doing what they want to do, and that they do not subdue to the overarching plot. Remember House HD? After some time i only watched it for the story, and i could not care less about all the patients they cured, as this was the same episode over and over again.

Sounds like an adequate response from writers frustrated with a fandom that keeps trying to guess where the story will go next. This fandom needs to be quieter.

The GoT backlash was not due to obsessive fans, it was because the writers destroyed the series so they could take a Star Wars job.

For me season 3 spent too much time trying to be what the 'fanbase' wanted it to be, so to see it diverge from that this season is something that makes me hopeful for the future.

Season 3 focused too much on family drama and character development. These elements were always present, but more in the background.
Personally, I really miss unsure and unconfident Morty and drunken yet genius Rick dragging him around all over the place on wacky adventures. Awe geez, Rick, what happened?
Still though, season 4 seems to be shaping up as better than season 3, IMO. Not to say S3 was terrible, just different.
      Just my $0.02.
PS I do hope they follow up on the Citadel / Evil Morty story. Out of what little serialized elements there are to this show, that's the one I'm most interested in.

Cool vid, bit I disagree on most of the GoT parallels.
The audience got invested in a great hard to predict plot with great risks and it turned into highly predictable clichee plot. It made me glad it ended.
About the clone stuff, I don't think there is any point in bringing that up because the cloning dilemma is the whole point in itself.

What i liked about R&M has slowly went away.

Idk. You cant really dismiss fan expectation wholeheartedly. Its a thin line. Something shouldnt be 100% fan service, but it definitely needs to be acknowledged, and shouldnt be purposefully undermined. Afterall, creators are often the ones that promise us such lofty ideals in the 1st place. They take the laurels when we like what they made. But they walk it all back if we hate it.

Anything like this contradicts the teachings and message of the show and isn’t useful just sprayed out jargon that everyone uses to “Rick-splain” things. Also I used “Rick” correctly as it correlates to intelligence which is the way people want to appear when doing videos like this.
