They moved on, people forget these guys were students when they started out. They took on MCRSK and won. Just for that, they are legends. There was no downfall, no drug use, no acrimonious break up or bankruptcy, they are just at a different season in their lives. If they want to come back great, if not issoke, they did their part for the Kenyan industry and we appreciate them.

I think they thought the industry was functional and fair when in reality it's dysfunctional and unfair. When they got their royalties from mcsk it dawned on them that doing music in Kenya is a labour of love and not labour of finance. Also 2 women and 1 guy in a group never works out long term. Anyway wako sawa hakuna haja warudi kuteseka walitupea classic songs and that's enough... As messed up as it sounds.

    Few things,
    1. Unlike Sauti Sol who built themselves, Elani depended on Dj Pinye to stardom. He was their manager and he played their songs on repeat pale the beat
    2. Music is a career with peanuts. When it dawned that they cant make any meaningful money, they followed their classroom careers
    3. Two womem and 1 gent was a flop. Women feminized the guy until he couldnt write any more music
    4. Life happened. Both ladies got married and their focus moved from the gent and the group.
If the group was to survive, only thing was to marry the guy or they all remain single

These are elitist, high minded artists and that just cant work especially in Africa...this is the thing that made these trio not resonate with Kenyans... Talent they have, art they have and charisma they have but they only appeal to like 1% of listeners... Most Kenyan fans relate to street level, rugs to riches, or still on the grind kind of artists these are some how a showcase of "look at me, am educated, smart, beautiful and my family's financially sound" that doesn't really work with most Kenyans... Do you remember Boniface Mwangi, he was actively part of the skank until he got cash from Jubilee and left the cheapies... Now no one can relate to his saleout rants... These three come from money that don't augur well with most Kenyan fans... Hawa ni wakuimbia wazungu huko Statehouse ama parties za kina Kenyatta in some hidden ranch...😂😂😂😂

The kenyan audience is very unpredictable, you can "dump down" to impress them and they decide to listen to lil wayne..

They had...become too boring. Same way of singing. Struggling voices. Elani lacked one thing in their music. Vocal arrangement in their music. Musyoka did them some music, but Musyoka is a great sound engineer, but not a prolific vocal arranger

Anything with women in it never has longetivity. Women always have short time lapses that expire quickly and their prime also expire quickly. For reference, check out Kalekye mumo, Caroline Mutoko, Avril etc. Then check veterans like Jeff Koinange, maina Kageni, Mejja, shaffie Weru etc. The greatest enemy of women is time.
