Hi Bill I bought a roll of that fiber fuse as recommended in your last video … ‘ how to fix a bad repair’…you’re right it great stuff to use… cheers mate👍
This has happened above our dishwasher. I assume from the steam. You can see the join of the two peices of gyprock underneath. Would i need to do something to secure that before using the mesh tape?
Awesome tips mate. Love your clear concise instructions. If I may add, please wear gloves when handling the fibafuse. Not sure if everyone reacts to it, but I did when coming in contact with my bare hands. Otherwise, great instructional video :)
Bill, I have this issue all around my 30 years old house ceiling, do you recommend fixing the plaster board to the ceiling studs with screws before applying the tape?
Very concise instruction. Thanks! Any suggestion if it is the tape joint where the ceiling and the wall meet. Mine has give way on the ceiling due to the house shifting?
What causes these cracks/the join to fail? I have a few in our house (not built or done by us so I don't know if it was well built or not). Should I be concerned?
I have a 20 ft long crack to repair and I'm not confident that I can hand mud the entire joint in one shot and get the tape up before it dries too much to bond well. So I plan on doing it in 2 or 3 sections. Would you recommend overlapping the cut ends of fibafuse or just butting them together?
I don't normally comment on youtube however, you are making amazing videos man. The only thing I would like is longer videos that shows all the way from start to finished product
Hey Bill. Love your videos. I’m settling on my first home today. Last night during the settlement inspection I noticed the cracks in the ceiling. And today I thought I bet Bill has a video of that ensure enough you do. My new house also has sagging cornices I was wondering if there’s a way to fix them or if they just have to be replaced?
Hi Bill thanks for the videos, they have been a great help. Just wondering if you have ever had to fix a sagging gyprock ceiling. The glue holding in my 80's built house has given out in the lounge causing the ceiling to belly and expose the joins. I have heard of people propping it up and screwing it at short intervals to refasten it to the roof trusses, then re-taping and plastering the joins. The other alternative is a demo and new ceiling, something I want to avoid due to having old fibreglass insulation. Ever come across this?
This is very common and depending on how bowed and how long it’s been bowed it can be repaired by propping up the ceiling. I will post a video on this next time I come across one
Depending on who you speak to. Paint manufacturers will state to prime then paint while many people who paint will say you don’t need to if applying more than two coats. I tend to asses each job individually on whether or not I use a primer. To be safe use a primer. These days you can purchase an all in one paint and prime product which I use a lot 👍
Honestly, I could not see the failed previous tape until I painted the ceiling. At this point the tape bubbled as it absorbed the moisture from the paint. So I had to remove the old tape and paint just that section as I had just painted the whole ceiling a few hours prior. In short, paint the whole ceiling unless the paint is fairly new 👍
Hi bill I'm 19 and I never met my dad so I had nobody to teach me these things but thanks to ur channel I gained a lot of skills thank you keep it up
You’re very welcome 👍👍👍
Bill is your dad now.
Step by step, simple and clear. Very useful and easy to follow. Thank you so much.
Sir, I’m sorry Bill, YOU SAVED MY LIFE AND MY HOUSE Thank you So SO much for the vids
Thank you, this has really helped me. I also applied fibrefuse to the joins up inside the ceiling for extra strength
I don’t have a ceiling to fix. But here I am. I enjoyed this video 😂
Nice technique Bill, showing the correct method.
simple and easy to follow, thanks Bill !!
That was fantastic! I have numerous seams but they’re angled maybe 33degrees. That product looks like it might be perfect. The ceiling is 50 yrs old.
Thanks Bill, great quick simple instructions. I reckon I’ve got this.
Thank you - excellent instruction (quick, to the point, clear, easy)

I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. Thanks for the comment and feedback 👍👍
I have this happening in the corners . It this the same process ?
What compound do you recommend using?
For most applications general all purpose joint compound 👍

@@billshowto Thanks Mate.
Amazing
Do you use quickset for embedding the tape then finishing compound for second and last coats?
Depends on the job, but generally you can use an all purpose for all three coats 👍
What if you have those old fashioned star’ish patterns in the ceiling that were popular in the 80’s?
Amazing video!
What is the compound product name?
Joint compound
Hey Bill, where to get the paint roller? Great work as always.
My painter has not done the repair properly & told me that this us a plasterers job. So is this a painter or plasterer job?
Thanks
Whats the name of the product ??
Do you need to prime over the compound before painting?

I have this problem please fix it for me i pay you brother you do good job
Awesome !
👍
Great video Bill, did you paint the whole ceiling or just the patched area?
I would say always paint the whole area as the paint never matches because of age.
Good stuff bill - what if this is mesh tape instead of paper tape? 🤔I have ceiling cracks like this I want to fix
You can do the same process over the mesh tape 👍
Thanks bud!
You painted only the repaired area? Or over the entire ceiling? Because in the video the repair is invisible

Hi bill, you should wear gloves when handling the fibrefuse, because it makes my hands itchy as hell when I have used it.
why does it occur
Hi mate what does a job like this cost - rather use a professional than diy this cheers
