Watching this, the thought came across my mind about the vibration caused by recoil. It is a waveform that probably varies slightly but is constant. WHat I wonder is if you could inject the exact opposite of that wave form at the moment the weapon fires and cancel recoil ? Might work but if not OH WELL !! :O) Thanks for the share.

By the way, the HB in M-2HB stands for heavy barrel .

I ran the aft 50s on my last three ships before retiring. No one seemed to ever hear of controlled fire. They all just sprayed lead until they ran out and couldn't hit a pier if we were tied up to it.

2:50 it seems to pull to the left?

Seeing as the 2 guns are mounted in the center and he is only firing the left gun it makes sense it would pull to the left lol.

Do they pick up the garbage

    • @dawolf7784

All the brass is picked up and recycled along with the links . Most of the time they have Tubes under the ejector ports that help to collect/ contain the brass to one area - I speak for the Marines - they always make us pick up every single piece. The Navy , who knows , my guess is there lazy and just dump it as all the navy does is float around on a ship all day .

While I understand the need for training , why are they firing API and AP rounds mixed with tracer ? Why not just use FMJ and tracer . That makes the cost triple . Smh I served 5 years and I still don’t understand .

I'm surprised they're not using Quads.

@daw9lf7784 Train as you fight. Further just because you are going on an exercise doesn't mean you change what you're carrying. You may end up not going to an exercise because something came up.

fired the weapon, but never did head space and timing…

    • @richardbossman9875

There is allegedly a new variant that has fixed timing so you no longer have to do HS-T. I was in a gun truck for 4 of my tours to Iraq and we still had to do HS-T but for the most part every gun I fired only required two clicks forward for the barrel and it was good to go and stayed that way.
