All problems truly lie with the producers. The ones who control the cash control the means of production. Like you said, the developers can only do with what they are given and I'm sure time crunch was one of them.
And it also happens occasionally that the fault lies with the publisher. Such as Nacon, who has previously been caught fraud, cutting deadlines and underfunding
Very well said. Behind these projects are human beings. With a limited scope and tremendous pressure put on them. I feel bad for those on the team who didn't get to see whatever potential they imagined be realized. You are a class act, Alex. Keep doing your thing!
I think you did a fantastic job of voicing these characters. I really hope that they can fix all of the problems as soon as they can. I do plan to get the game anyhow as I am a fan of the lord of the rings. I understand that it takes a lot of hard work in creating a game(Characters, music etc). especially if the game company hasn't done this type of game before. I look forward in playing this game once everything gets sorted. Thank you for taking the time and posting this video Alex you are a star, My Precious.
@@alexjordanvo at college he had a tshirt that said "im like gollum, but less ugly" so he kind of made it obvious he had a gollum face, and the hairline in the game is pretty close to what his was
I agree, so many do their best on the bit they are assigned, and it's not their individual fault something went wrong, yet they are judged collectively. If anyone should be criticised, it should be the people who decided that the game was ready to be released with that price tag.
You did what you could, im sure nobody here amongst your fans blame you for how the game turned out. IMO I think from the examples shown, you did a fantastic job, hell, it speaks of your range that I struggled to tell it was specifically you, no offence intended, but I see it as a mark of artistry, no?
Like I said when you were showing the game off on stream, I would have never known you were the VA for either the Beastmaster or the Frail Man. They are both great voices. It sucks that the Devs weren't able to get the game to the polish that they would have liked due to Publishers and Shareholders just wanting to make market deadlines. Like what you said, constructive criticism is great, the blanket negative comments and threats are never cool.
Dang dude what are you not in!?!? Also I'm so glad you have a realistic understanding how how a game is developed and just a kinder attitude than most of the world. "The devs this the devs that" people are so willing to point fingers over the internet. I still want to get the game despite all the bad reviews on it. Just because it's not a classic video game of action packed violence doesn't make it a bad game. I hope this video gets out there more so people realize not to blame the devs
They made a bad game, simple as. And sure, the game not being an action game doesn't necessarily make it bad... But the game is bad in so many ways beyond it's genre. If you're really gonna spend 50$ on this mess well, best of luck to you.
There will be no critics toward you, Sir... as a fellow actor myself, I can say your work here, is of true quality. If by voice only, i'd dare to say that a good chunk of the cast IS pretty good. Though, I have to admit for the first performance, judging only by the voice you produced, I was picturing somethin' like a Dwarf, or a sturdy dude of 6 feet long ... and not some frail Robinson lost in the Morria. But, that problem is not of your concern. You did your job. And you did it well ! ... I'm sorry to say, however, the one who did Gollum wasn't helped at all in the creation of this... global Mess. Passing after Andy Serkis is an almost impossible task to start with, but furthermost : the acting direction, if there was any, seems... Way off.
I don’t blame VO’s and ground floor devs for bad games. It sounds like you did a good job, the devs did the best they could with the direction they were given by management. I blame game directors, and upper management. See overwatch 2 I don’t think anyone is blaming ground floor employees its management.
I'm really appreciate your take here on hard working artists. The points you made here Alex are almost always drowned out by the armies of gamers trashing the Devs. Darktide case and point. Just read the responses from the community to literally anything Fatshark says, it's usually toxic. You can not like the game and not be a C**T at the same time.
Hi, Alex. Sorry if this is out of the blue, but my name is Harry, I have Autism, and I'm a graduate from Teesside Uni. I am in the middle of preparing for making my own RUclips animation series. I will be voicing a few of my characters, but I am on the lookout for voice actors. I have looked at a lot of your acting, showreels, and even played Game of Thrones TellTale game, and I am very impressed by your versatile talent. I would like to ask if you would like to join the cast for my series. If not, I completely understand, but if you choose to, I would be happy to work with you. A project of mine based around my series is on RUclips.
Look, you're a cool dude, but making Gollum raise birds... that's not accurate to his character and making friends..is not accurate to his character, so the devs created a story, that is completely not in line with Gollums character. At all. That's on them, not on the studio.
i think you did a fantastic job with your voice-lines.
A good take Alex, honestly if you hadn't had said. I'd have never known it was you voice acting as those characters, great work.
Sounds like you were delivering your best Khajiit :D
I’m locking away the cat nip just in case

You did fantastic voice work!
Not a dev on that game, but I am a dev who has worked on games that were panned, and... you know, just... thanks for speaking up for the dev team.

Your frail man is wise and charismatic character. I like him very much

You should do a stream one day where you only talk like the Frail Man 😂👍
i like the game, gollum looks exactly like this one guy from college i knew called greg
Does… does Greg know this?

Must suck for voice actors to give their souls into something, only for it to turn out horrible.
I look like Gollum so its okay
I liked your performance in Pillars of the Earth.
Where’d you go man? I miss your vids
Good man.
good take 👍🏿

The game looks alright. And from what I’ve seen the voice acting is great.

Any advice for someone who wants to become a voice actor?
