Someone out there in your neck of the woods has got to like the sound of that challenge.... Should see how that play's out and post up a challenge to someone.
Do you remember what size tires he had on that car? I have a '69 Camaro that I just bought and am replacing the coilovers because the current ones are shot and the tires rub. It has a SBC 350 in it and I'm wondering what spring rate to get. Thanks!
@Pete's Garage I'm about to do the same to my 69 Camaro but with DSE control arms and coilovers. I noticed you didn't have to enlarge the hole at the top of the shock mount. Is this specific to DSE or did you do off camera?
I combined with Wilwood 6 piston front brake kit install... Pretty straight forward but had some stuck factory bolts that fought to stay on the car. Particularly the spindle bolts. Thanks for the video.
Hey Pete. At the end of the video when he starts it up at about 6:05. Is that normal, where is sounds like it has a little trouble and then knocks once. My 350 in my 77 c10 does the exact same thing, its my first project so my knowledge is lacking haha. Thanks
Very nice car. I am considering the same coilovers for my 1st gen. After a year of having your QA1's, would you still say you like them? Gave pros and cons for daily cruising, and performance driving? Thanks for your response, any information would be appreciated.
Not to be picky, but , why did you take off the brakes? If you leave everything attached to the upper spindle and A-arm, once the lower A-arm is separated from the spindle, take a piece of 2x4x4 inches stuff it under the upper A-arm and it keeps everything tidy and out of the way, thus saving time and energy taking things apart that don’t need be removed, plus the brake hoses don’t get stretched and kinked. Just my observation.(My 2 cents worth)
Just trying a new format. It's tough to get hours of video into a 7 minute video and still show all the work. When you are in stop action the audio shuts off so I stop occasionally to highlite important stuff.
Really like that color!
It looks awesome in the sun
That car is MINT, awesome. My 68 is a driver, but still a lot of fun. 396 BBC.
It is a gorgeous car
Pete nice work. That car is amazing!
Thanks J...it's awesome
wish it really did happen that fast. Nice editing and video.
You and me both. I"m trying to show more in videos and still keep them entertaining.
Beautiful car. To bad they don't build cars like this any more.
This one would kill a new Camaro

It sounds pretty mean
Oh man, what a great looking car!
Couldn't agree more!

I'll ask him, I don't remember
15 X 7 BF Goodrich 225 front 15 X 8 255 back
Sweet project Pete!
That is a fun car
Turn your timing back a few degrees..keeps the starter from dragging..
Too many mechanics under that hood....
Lmao for a minute I thought I was watching bad luck Garage lol
It sometimes feels like it

Is DSE the same as johnny law or helix

Yes, the engine was warm, so it turns over until the next piston gets to top dead center, compresses, and the plug fires.
@@PetesGarage makes sense now, thanks for the reply! Big fan of the channel
cool car !!
It's real nice

Yes, they improve performance by a huge amount
It’s my car and it’s the best thing I could’ve ever done . It solved all the problems on the front end.
Thanks for making this my dad has a 69 Camero and i want to learn how to work on them thanks so much.
Awesome! Have Fun
No need to wear safety glasses under that car. There’s no rust or dirt. 😂
It's spotless
Hey i have a 73 nova and picked up a set of 650 qa1 coilovers for $280. Do you think with a 454 and the 73 bumpers my spring rate will work? Thanks
I would call QA1 tech support
@@PetesGarage what was the spring rate. Been too lazy to call qa1.
@@theshark2804 i think he said they put on 550 springs
@@jacobgomer yeah i had to watch a few times. I hope the 650 i got is not too stiff with a 454 and iron heads
@@theshark2804 how is it now
I love camero's 😍
This is a very nice one
What weight coil did you use? 500lb?
I don't recall, it was the one for the big block
What’s the model number for those coil overs?
I don't have it handy, but it's pretty easy to search on the web

Thanks for the comment
Unfortunately, QA1 does not provide the spanner wrenches now.
Unfortunate cost reductions
Damn. Why don’t you slow it down so someone could learn from this video
Thanks for the input
Maybe it's just me. Not a fan of that music throughout the meat of the video. Didn't stop me from watching twice :)

I love the music
This video helped a lot thank you so much
Glad it helped
I shouldn't have to tell you this but you never let a calliper hang by the hose! That's really not setting a good example to your viewers.
You're right
Who the hell wants a fast forward of the entire job with crappy metal music blasting in your ear?

Killing the bronze
sits too high :)
We did adjust it after a couple weeks driving
with coil overs you can adjust the height to whatever you like
sweet car except for the stripes-why do people put z/28 stripes on a car that's not a z/28? put hockey stripes on if you want stripes on a 69
Well...everyone does what they like
