I am installing those same tubular control arms on my 1969 Camaro. Do you recall what measurements were used for camber, castor etc. when you had it professionally aligned?
I had a '69 Camaro and loved it. It too had standard drum brakes all around. If anything the first modification l would have done was upgrade front disc brakes.
Curious as to whether you can turn the wheel far enough to turn corners. I'd be surprised if the tires don't rub inside the fenders at more than 10 degrees either way.
I'm doing the exact setup, hotchkis lower a-arm and QA1 coilovers up front. I'm wondering if you used the 1/4" spacer where the shock mounts to the lower control arm?
I recommend not hitting the top of the balljoint. It'll mess up the threads of the stud. I hit the spindle with the castle nut on, but loose, until it pops and separates or like you said, use a separator. I personally have no luck with separators. I always rip the boots whenever i use them.
Bringing the front wheels out might cause interference with the fender lip during hard cornering. See how much clearance you have before installing a spacer.
Nice video explanation. Gives me some needed insight to my Q A 1 install on my recently completed 1969 Camaro with big block. I used regular GM big block springs but with Hotciks type tubular A arms. It was too low in the front so I Tried 1 inch spacer but it dives down with any hard driving. I definitely think these adjustable coil over shocks are the way to go.Thanks.
Looks really good, my 69 Camaro is a numbers matching SS 396 so I feel obligated to keep everything OEM which severely limits the kind of upgrades I can do. I am putting in some QA1 adjustable shocks but with stock coil springs, and I might talk myself into upgrading the sway bar, I can always save the original one. Mine does have factory front disc brakes though, yours must have been bone stock from the factory.
Love your car man. I just picked up a BB 69 that i plan on doing a Torque arm and coil overs. How'd you fit 18x10's in the rear without rubbing? I love the wheels and I'd like to explore a similar set
Are those crusader or warrior series? And how did you like the 550 springs? I'm doing a 6.0 ls and hopefully next year going aluminum ls3 would you go with the 450 or 550
Beautiful car bro, I just picked up a 68 and I’ll be doing some suspension work, the front wheels on ur cane could come out maybe 1/2” but it looks awesome!!!
Kind of a follow up comment since you installed these: How are they running/riding? How do they feel with the lighter LS? Where did you purchase this kit (I am looking to do the same on mine)?
Some can. I plan on leaving the factory arms on my car but there is a support plate I will be using. Aldan American Coil-Over Plates GM Front Lower Control Arms Part Number: 038-ALD-39
Hey man , quick question. I literally have the same exact set up as you . However I noticed that when trying to level out my ride height up front that the actual coil overs were not equally adjusted. Seems like the passenger side needed to be lowered more to match the driver side.. did you come across this as well? If not what do you think it could be. I’ll be taking it this Saturday for a full alignment set up.
Absolutely love the stance of this car! Could you link or share more information to the three inch lowering system you previously used? The back is sitting perfectly but from this video it’s hard to tell how you got it there.
Perhaps the front wheels coming out a bit more would be good, this might be sorted when you do the brake conversion. Would you still need a spacer then? I’m not an expert so excuse if that’s an ignorant comment.
Looking for adjustable coil overs for my 1969 Camaro with leaf springs and stock shocks. I want to raise the back of my 69 about 1-1.5" does Viking make them for that?. I love the look of their shocks.
That’s a very nice car dude. Love what you’ve done to it so far. Do you plan to convert the brakes from drum to disc any time soon. Perhaps I missed a previous vid on that subject. Apologies if you’ve already explained. Are you keeping a close eye on the money? I should imagine you’ve spent lots and lots. My missus would be keeping a close watch on me, but you’re doing great, love it.👍🏻🇬🇧
I do plan on doing s disc brake conversion very soon. Just trying to figure out what direction I want to go first (donor car for LS sway or just an off the shelf kit) I don't have a set budget for the car. I'm just upgrading one thing at a time as my budget allows.
You did this almost a year ago. How's the kit doing so far if they're still in? I'm worried about the pivot rod. That part holds a lot of weight and just wondering how it is holding up.
Afternoon, I got a 67 Camaro SS that I’m starting up again after years of sitting I was wondering for the stance you have now, how much lower than stock are you in the rear and front...great job on the vids by the way I New to your channel and actually found you searching through Camaro vids.
Do It, don't know if you have done it yet but I love the 9" in my 69 Camaro. I stayed with 11" drums in the rear and disk on the front. It stops on a dime.
Hey man, how do this coilovers feel 1 year later? Im thinking on buying the fronts for my 71 Cougar. Cant decide if i want 450 or 550 lbs springs tho? Your 550lbs dont feel too stiff?
Hmm would you get the 450lbs if you had to do it all over again? Also did you opt for the 1 1/2-3 inch drop or the 0-2 inch drop? Just curious man before I pull the gun on these
I want to try just lowering the compression settings to see how that goes. I got these www.ebay.com/itm/Viking-67-69-Camaro-Front-Coilover-Kit-Double-Adjustable-Shock-Spring-550/272677600906?hash=item3f7cd9fe8a:g:ZgAAAOSwva1a1iBv&frcectupt=true
It's very informational. I love how he just shows you after it's installed. Extremely helpful to just guess on how to install it.
Anthony CAROSELLI its a pretty basic install, which may be why he didn’t go deep into the install. I think he did a good job.
That's a sweet ride. I was shocked to see the stock drum breaks up front still! Can't wait to see it all done. Nice work
3:05 It is being used as a "thrust bearing".
The proper name is a "torrington bearing"
Stance looks awesome! I agree with using a spacer to bring the front wheels out a little bit more.

I had a '69 Camaro and loved it. It too had standard drum brakes all around. If anything the first modification l would have done was upgrade front disc brakes.
Sweet ride I also have the viking double adjustable on my nova and love them
Would you care to share your tire/wheel combo? Is it mini tubbed? Looks great. Awesome video. Thank you.👍🏻
Got these up front in my 67!!!!! Yesssssss

I would definitely bring the front wheels out a little bit! I love the wide look on that car.

What setting did you end up with compression and rebound F & R
Thanks for the video, very helpful. I'm going to be changing my 69 RS Z28 to front tubular a-arms and coil overs this summer.
Are those KMJ control arms?
Do you think I can fit those wheels on my camaro 67?
great stance! what size front and rear tires are those ? thanks
You did a great job with the vid and install!! Thanks! ...Plz change to disk brakes tho...That's one of the first things I do on a drum brake car..
disc breaks might bring wheels out a little
Spacers on the wheels add more load on the wheel studs from a safety point of view I wouldn't do it,especially on my front wheels just my opinion.
Love your car man. I just picked up a BB 69 that i plan on doing a Torque arm and coil overs. How'd you fit 18x10's in the rear without rubbing? I love the wheels and I'd like to explore a similar set
Nice job on the ‘69.

Thanks, looking forward to my LS/T56/9" swap coming soon.
Looking to do the exact same swap, how are these? Did you end up using them for auto-x?
Kind of a follow up comment since you installed these: How are they running/riding? How do they feel with the lighter LS? Where did you purchase this kit (I am looking to do the same on mine)?
Hmmmm.......what is that bike under the sheet? Look forward to finding out!
Great video! Can the coil over be installed with the OEM arms ?
There are some that can be used with factory control arms.
Some can. I plan on leaving the factory arms on my car but there is a support plate I will be using. Aldan American Coil-Over Plates GM Front Lower Control Arms

It's the Hotchkis TVS system. The rear is their 3" lowering leaves.
Thanks so much!
You have stock spindle or drop spindle
I have the same control arms. Did you add the 2” longer shocks option for the deeper pockets on the control arms?
No, they are set roughly 1" lower than stock height so with the control arms it's 3" lower.
Very nice car what are ur wheel specs thanks
Perhaps the front wheels coming out a bit more would be good, this might be sorted when you do the brake conversion. Would you still need a spacer then? I’m not an expert so excuse if that’s an ignorant comment.
I think the back needs to come up now, but just a 1/2" or an 1"
whats your wheel setup
Looking good! Where did you get the viking coilovers?
I say yes on the spacer, it looks empty up there. do it! also... I want to see that CB360 project
Looking for adjustable coil overs for my 1969 Camaro with leaf springs and stock shocks. I want to raise the back of my 69 about 1-1.5" does Viking make them for that?. I love the look of their shocks.
They sell shocks for the rear but I don’t believe they have a full coil over setup.
thanks

No complaints. I added Viking double adjustable shocks to the rear as well and I'm very happy with the setup.
@@ClassicOctane what type of driving have you done with these suspension kits?
What about the rear? What coilover?
Afternoon, I got a 67 Camaro SS that I’m starting up again after years of sitting I was wondering for the stance you have now, how much lower than stock are you in the rear and front...great job on the vids by the way I New to your channel and actually found you searching through Camaro vids.
Rear is 3” but it’s hard to say on the front. My control arms have a 2” drop built in and the rest I did with the coil overs.
Classic Octane nice I may have to look into a 1-3” adjustable coil in the front...love the stance man can’t wait to see the progress
Really sweet ride! What are those wheels called. And what sizes are they?
Thanks! They are Rocket Racing Attacks 18x8 and 18x10s
Are you doing front and rear disk brake swaps or just front?
I will do all 4. Just trying to decide if I want to upgrade to a 9" rear end at the same time.
Do It, don't know if you have done it yet but I love the 9" in my 69 Camaro. I stayed with 11" drums in the rear and disk on the front. It stops on a dime.
Hey I am about to get my 69 camaro painted and I am really liking your orange paint. Do you have a paint code?
Don’t know the paint code off the top of my head but it’s an original color called Hugger Orange.
Time for a front brake upgrade next with all the good parts you got there.
Do I see front drum brakes on that costume beauty?
Don't worry it has 4 wheel discs now :-)
What's the specs on your wheels looking at the same ones for my 69 nova
Front = 18X8 BS 5.00" Tire 245/40/18
Rear= 18x10 BS 5.50" Tire 275/35/18
@@ClassicOctane What is the offset?
I’m surprised to see drum brakes on this car
Same thing I was thinking. He's upgraded so much... but not the drums...
And you just removed the tacked on bolts on the bottom I have the same tubulars
Hey man, how do this coilovers feel 1 year later? Im thinking on buying the fronts for my 71 Cougar. Cant decide if i want 450 or 550 lbs springs tho? Your 550lbs dont feel too stiff?
They are pretty stiff but I still love them. Being able to adjust the compression definitely helps.
Hmm would you get the 450lbs if you had to do it all over again? Also did you opt for the 1 1/2-3 inch drop or the 0-2 inch drop? Just curious man before I pull the gun on these

Thanks man! I think I might get the 550lbs as my car is on the heavier side.
space out the front
Ich möchte gerne etwas über dich bestellen
All that money for suspension and drum brakes? you wont be doing auto cross
Too many wheels....
