I studied it in high school music class. Travelled to Saratoga Springs in upstate New York to hear it performed live outdoors. Vivid memories of it to this day.
Truly intriguing to imagine that this has been played in vienna in 1943/44. Maybe in some twist of fate this is a musical representation of those times and the powers behind them. Irony of fate. The magical music of time, that was the moving force behind everyone, without them knowing or hearing.

Sang it, love it. Most of this recording is awesome except 'Ego Sum Abbas'. It was missing the anvil/metal clang to puncuate the ends of phrases. It was the way I first heard it, and I just don't enjoy symphonies that do not include it.
