I have been listening to you for several years and really enjoy your instruction as well as hearing you play and sing. Quite inspirational really. Thanks. I plan on subscribing to your channel soon. Scott
I learned this song a while back, haven't done it too often because i still consider myself a beginner at guitar and 6/8 has not been my friend in the past. I've gotten better at it especially after realizing recently that i've been playing How He Loves which is in 6/8. (Never much considered what it was before just played the pattern) The chart I've had for this song always beat me with the line "Come find your mercy" with 3 chords (Am, G/B, C in the key of F) and that was another big reason why i didn't play this song. I now realizing that this progression was probably part of the Bass line which would make sense. I hope to do this song some more in the future, just as soon as i commit it to memory. Thanks for all you do, Brian. Even if you don't realize it you help me realize when i'm being thick about something and should just do it instead of worrying about it :P
I love you videos; they are so awesome and helpful, thank you and keep it up! I have a request can you do a tutorial on Build Your Kingdom Here by Red Collective please?
Great voice coaching. I am not going to lie, I was super prideful about the not sliding. I was like "I am sure it sounds fine when I do it". Then I tried just going straight to the note and it sounded much better. Thanks!
Random question about the temp - which metronome (or app) are you using that you ended up with 67.5 BPM and 6/8? When I use those settings in the OnSong app with its built in metronome it's much too quick (on the iPad the app now has an option for the time signature) but when I use an app like Taptronome, it's much too slow. If I tap the tempo out (in OnSong OR Taptronome) I get 135 in 4/4 (which is obviously not the right time signature for the song, but when removing any accents is the right tempo for the song and matches how fast you were counting it during video generally) but that converts successfully down to 45 in 6/8 for OnSong…
