TY! Love the honesty. Finally. You saved me a lot of bad money. Have you found anything that's leak-proof, spill-proof, keeps coffee hot for at least six hours, easy to use, can take a beating, is designed well? Doesn't weight a ton (I am using it to haul to desk job/walk around city so I don't want a cup on top. I can't find one. Might have to invent it. Agree with all you say about the Stanleys. Was curious about the Master Series...and Contigo...Hrdroflask and Klean Kanteen are out. Don't work for coffee. Nobody has seemed to master the lid.
desk job / walking around city... hmm, and you don't want to go thermos with carry handle? cause the secret is letting thermos and that 16 oz i got sit and preheat with hot tap water in it for 10 minutes, its called priming. depending on how much coffee u want go with, the stans work decently enough even in today's market. i just aspied out on these cause of my dad's 1980s work thermos i just inherited.
@@gonecamping3278 Thank for writing back. I was going to get a Stanley until your review! I'm a design freak (geek) and the lids don't pass the test. The button seems really poorly designed. I prime my thermos. If a coffee spot with really hot coffee fills it, it stays hot (Klean Kanteen, Cafe lid) - but it leaks. But they all leak and lose their heat retention too quickly. I live in NYC and work clothes, gym clothes, stuff in bags with brown spots on everything is not appealing. It's also gotta stay hot least 6 hours. I sip during the day. I walk a lot where there's no (good) coffee...A cup on the top is too cumbersome for me. Every brand has a problem with heat retention and leakage. Cleaning is a pain. Or they use cheaply made parts. I can't believe some company hasn't nailed this! They all seem much better at cold. This is one of the few items I would spend a little more on if it worked!
@@seechangenyc280 well shit, i'm sorry you have so much rotten trouble with hot coffee for your morning routine, i'd send u the thermos i bought on Etsy, that was manufactured on the year of my birth, 1981, i tested that thing at priming, and then filling it at 8 in the am. from a freshly made pot of coffee, and then only pouring a cup later at 11 pm the next night. HOT, yummy, and wonderfull. it really did taste like it was freshly brewed, it still held all those what you call, neoness. or whatever the written word is, i mean to say is if you can't find something modern, reel back and search through time. my dad's thermos taught me this, and you are gonna have to figure shit out on your own just as i had to. Good luck, god speed, and may the course grind be with you.
Gone Camping all good ideas! Been priming better/more. Really helping. And you’re right, trial and error. Best piece of advice: newer isn’t better. Thanks so much for lending your brainpower. Have a wonderful holiday.
@@seechangenyc280 :P no brain power here, just spending my late evenings obsessing on obscure things like these. i'm autistic, when i find a new thing to obsess on, i'm screwed for a few weeks. so You're welcome, buy wisely, shop smart, and buy whoever does it the best these days :P
thanks for your honesty!
NOTHING "should be made of bake-o-lite" but I've had that shorty for several years and it's awesome.
Do not lose your spring. My boyfriend threw my spring away and I am trying to get new lid and it been 2 week and nothing yet.
Thank you so much. You saved my money.
