The Book RIP CORD is great.
That Battle on hill 900 he was in was terrible. The CO dropped the ball. Apparently his Hammock was the first thing hit by RPG fire.

I know this is about Vietnam but regarding his partner, I have never been married and maybe this is why I find this amazing. Having married before departure, his wife did a runner on him, and when he came back he went out to California, retrieved his wife, got a lawyer, got her ‘sorted out’ and pregnant and that ‘was good. ‘. Right there…I wouldn’t have…but this guy knew what he wanted, and did what he needed to do to get it, and retrieve it.

How could he ever trust her again? I wouldn't bother.
