If you are an individual that can afford and justify the purchase of this, I genuinely congratulate you (and definitely envy you a bit) - I would love to experience one of these things some time!
"SP1000 supports two of Astell & Kern's AK4497 DAC chipsets." - It's not "Astell & Kern's", AK in dac name stands for Asahi Kasei. Also sound description is laughable and generic, said for every audio device ever... sounded more like an ad than review imo... Still nice to get a glance of the device in hands, in high quality video. Not good for a review but still one of the rare videos about it on YT!
More to the point - most scientific articles/studies usually give you the conclusion at the beginning. It would be nice to incorporate a Up/Down vote. Is the device reviewed worth the incremental technical advantage worth the cost.
I am sorry to break to you, but this is almost a carbon copy of FiiO X5III, which costs 10th of the price, has dual dacs, dual micro sdxc slots and comes with beautiful leather case and silicon cover and "custom" made screen protectors - all included for a tenth of the price of A & K rip off. Then again, A&K obviously follows car manufacturers like RR and Tesla that charge ridiculous amount of money for the products that are only status symbol and nothing better than most of other competitors for a fraction of their prices.
ok son lmao the fiios fake android software is trash it crashes more often and can barely function without some bug. also it copied the ak380 but its solid for under 500. you cant compare the ultima with the x53 thats just dumb and im not a fanboy im just informed. although 3500 is too much lmao i stay under 1k
lmao they are completely different levels, x5iii has really bad hiss with sensitive iems, boomy bass, recessed highs lacking air and micro details, the only redeeming factor is it is pretty smooth for a $400 device, sold mine for an ak70 mkii
what's fucked up about listening to this type of quality. After listening to music with this and 64 audio a18t, listening on other devices is just irritating.
Now this thing is probably some luxury audio player and it's probably for ''The Elite''. But why the HELL is this thing 25 THOUSAND turkish lira? As a person who lives in the country of Turkey this small thing that just plays audio costs 10 MONTHS OF RENT. At that point just buy a phone. A nice phone, like the brand new iPhone that everybody raves about. Seriously, i've seen computers with literally some of the highest specs you can get, for CHEAPER. Why buy this? And yes i do realize that all of the elite people that don't live in a 3rd world country probably don't rant about this like i do, but seriously. I just wanna buy an mp3 player. Not an electronic gold bar.
Try put quality in-ear headphones in this and in smartphne. If You aren't deaf, you must hear BIG diftrence in sound... Thi is for people, who want to listen more than 128Kb MP3 rap or techno... I have iBasso DX90 DAP and Samsung S5 and after experience with quality DAP I can't listen smartphone sound anymore...
@@Slimm2240 sorry man, but I have a $1,000 high end Sony experia xz 2 premium phone and a $220 Sony high resolution music player that will run laps around my expensive phone or damn near any phone in sound quality.

Darren Persad wow, this comment is better than the video
I always like Astell&Kern's product design aesthetic; everything about their devices telegraphs luxury, and I love anything with a track wheel!
Astell & Kern is the land of diminishing returns.
For this price, They should give lifelong warranty

For 3500 I better have every song ever for free and listen to albums 10 years early
I mean if you walk in with the money in cash for this thing in your pocket it won’t feel that much different walking out with the player itself either
What you guys don't understand is that, if you can afford this, you can also afford to have someone following you around carrying it.
It should be expected at this price but I'm still impressed that what is basically a glorified mp3 player can drive Audeze cans
2:18 what are the headphones used in the video?

Awkward, 1 day battery, terrible screen. Great sound, for the price of $3500.
Wait 1 day even when it put on standby/sleep mode?
@@OpickHidayato I don't know. I haven't ever played with that setting. Out of the box tho, I'd hope for better from 3500
How many kidneys does this portable player cost?
I’m not an audiophile so reading the comments here was like listening to the encabulator ad
Does it go to 11 though ?

v0000000000000000v what does the AK70 II does better? Sound wise I am very happy with the FiiO x5 III.
I sold one of my kidneys.
It was not enough.
Waiting for the LG V30 with its quad dac. No reason to carry a separate DAP
Browsing Channel why doesn't have a 4. 4 pentacon Jack on it?
@Browsing Channel i disagree v29 can easily drive ie800 but yes no comparing to ghis device.
This + Hugo Mojo 2 + Abyss Phi 1266 = Heaven on Earth.
Is it like a dap source affects the sound even if its only transfering information to a dac?
Seems to be very uncomfortable in pocket.
Chord mojo/poly for the win!
