Only thing disrespectful is the gum chewing by the dancers, everything else is beautiful... The mixed Races into the tribe go way back, and are apart of the families.. for whoever carries on the traditions.. that is far more important than how dark or light the skin of the dancer is... much respect and blessings ❤️

Where are the Indians??? I see a few people from the Plains Nations. Women with a sleeve missing on their regalia. Plains women are very modest about their bodies and will not go into the Dance Circle baring that much skin. If this "Tribe" is going to imitate Plains clothing & dance please have some respect.

Sorry buddy but this tribe is eastern woodland not plains. Algonquin

+William Fowler Ancient Algonquin would'nt have danced like Plains Indians tribes in the first place. It's just that they lost all memory of how their ancestors danced, so they are copying the Plains Indians. Probably no one knows how their real dances were or how their real Algonquin chants sounded like.

+black horse your right a lot was lost but not everything. yes they do dance like plain Indians at pow wows not because their culture is lost but the modern day pow wow are made universal for intertribal. you have to remember the Algonquin people were very numerous and the northeast was filled with these tribes who had the same language and traditions And if not very similar so everything was not lost. a lot was but not everything.

Wm., The last information I knew about this Shinnecock Tribe is that they are not recognized by the federal govt. therefore they have no Treaty entitlements at all. These People are very poor & tasteless imitators of the real Native Peoples.

+Winyanohitika shinecock nation is a federal recognized tribe. seems you don't know much about the tribe to be making comments about someone being imitators. my guess is that you're disgusted that they are a lot of mixed blood but that would make you the poor and tasteless one. that's coming from someone who is proud of there shinnecock and montauket heritage. yes I might not be 100 percent native blood but the blood of our ancestors still flow through our veins no matter what uncle toms have to say.
